  • I have dyslexia this is just like me.

  • where can i find this pictures and thanx alot !!

  • Thank you so much for your great and beneficial video! I am a special education student and i found this video is a good source to educate people about dyslexia! God Bless You

  • Interesting, cartoon and story based. Very positive. Suitable for children to watch.

  • I wish I got chocolates.... lol

  • im dyslexic and im so scared to tell people, cause they'll treat me diffrently... in my life im always compared to my older brother who is going off to collage soon, he is just a smart kid no dyslexia... at school im smart and i do my work, usually first one done, but when my classmates wanna see my work, they always make fun of my handwriting. i never tell them it's because im dyslexic and it make my handwriting bad. i havent really told any one at my school not even the teachers

  • @missgenius14 i have it to. i alsow hated school and was the same as you trayed may hardest to hied it. i was vearey ashamed of mayself.. but now i still dont like having it and if theay founed a cure i woued be wone of the forst in line but i ame no longer ashamed of it. if others are closed mineded and cant except it well to bad for them. most pepeaill are fine with it and are often willing to help you. it is the odd won that isnot.

  • @missgenius14 Just tell them I am very dyslexic and its better to be honest about it then to hide. people like your parents and teachers will also understand you allot better then when your just saying that you don't know why you can't read that or got bad grades

Its not an excuse but it is just a sign that you have to work harder for what your wand

  • dyslexia along with hundreds maybe thousands of disorders and diseases that are mental are not as big a deal as scientists make you think. They are simply have to do with your want to do something or your will.

  • @crazymonk3y765 It's true that with determination you can overcome almost anything but dyslexia can be a very big deal. I know a guy who's wife walked out, taking their kids, because she was so frustrated with his forgetfulness and disorganisation - he can't help being dyslexic. I've helping a 15 year old who was kicked out of school and in trouble with police - he can't read or write a thing because he's got the deepest dyslexia I've ever come across.

  • @crazymonk3y765 not depression.........

  • @crazymonk3y765 Do you have it your self in any ways because

It is not about wanting something its about over coming it so you can't choose to have it or not other wise I would be just as fast as my friends so yeah

  • I got dyslexia , It sucks it's hard , it weird how i can type but can't write , i have the key-bored memorized . when its on paper it's like Huh. whats this.

  • @nessaroberts100 like me too

  • Every one thought that I was really lazy and stupid and I keep failing my brother had dsylexia but he was good at every thing and I was always compared to him I finally got tested for dsylexia but they said I didn't have it and I kept getting I'll from being over stressed physically and mentally unroll one day I got tested again and results showed I had dyspraxia soon I'm going to get help for it but my parents still think I'm just being lazy and nothing is wrong with me even though I cannot co

  • @ the end i wish thats how teachers talked to me...

  • Dyslexics are teople poo. Give respect them!

  • i have a short term memory but i dont is dyslexia math, english, and science for me is hard to understand

  • But if I am dyslexic, I'm probably only mildly dyslexic.

  • I kind of hope I'm dyslexic. No matter how hard I try, my friends get higher marks than me... I don't know...

  • I dont think I have dyslexia but am terrible at maths (I don't even know how, why I can't calculate in my head one of the simpilest things) and I have sometimes see extreme/high amounts of Eye Floaters mostly in school, which is extremely annoying when copying off board.

  • @GuineaForce Dyscalculia is like dyslexia for numbers but not many teachers know about it. Learning strategies helps if you have dyscalculia. Take a look at Tables of Doom. It might also be worth trying out coloured overlays or getting tested for visual stress by an optometrist.

  • @GuineaForce I ame considered sevear deslaxick. as you see may spelling can be realey bad at times. but i have an even worse time with numberes. alsow i have a hared time with spaceulel awarness i cant ketch a ball if may life depended on it. but i ame realey good at art and making thinges. i can mak just about aneything

deslaxicka afeckes everay won difrentley. the brane works a bit difrent is all.

  • i have dyslexia and i have all As and Bs and i have math and reading dyslexia you haft to work with it and i had to go to a trainer person to help me learn with it

  • I am dyslexic cuz when i read i see double and im bad at math....

  • After seeing this video I want to be dyslexic.

  • @guiltyhalo i am a dyslexia and not many people will accept you when you are dyslecxia

  • @guiltyhalo Trust me... you don't!!!

  • I have dyslexia, and still have a hard time reading and spelling, but i go to a school in vancouver called fraser academy and i have been doing a world of wonders there. i'm in grade twelve this year and graduating, i'm supper excited to have gotten this far, but the school is not cheep, and my dad is not willing to pay, so it is all up to my mum and i so i work part time to herp her. i am an artist and plan to do many art like things after school, i have also applied to capilano, YAY!

  • @Chrisman50 Dude your missing the point. I for one am not Dyslexic, but I do know that Dyslexic children's vision gets either blurry, or distorted, casusing them no to read as well as other children

  • Being left handed doesn't make you smear what you write on the page. This kid needs to stop being so lazy and start reading his homework like everyone else instead of making excuses.

  • inferessting, there is a toq comment that has no thumds uqs

  • luckily im not dyslexic but a kid in my class is worse he is dyslexic and color blind so he gets huge pieces of paper twice as big as mines

  • if you are reversing the letters then they eyes are not working together be the muscle in the eyes can be fixed with simply exercise over period of time had it myself

  • happy ever afer is only in the lite kids book

  • lol Tom looks like Butters

  • sorry but I don't agree. I've worked alongside loads of psychologists who assess for dyslexia, charging very high fees (to those who can usually least afford it) and they all have a different opinion on what is dyslexia and are reluctant to even use the word. There are several relatively low cost profiling tools that schools can use to identify those at risk but any trained teacher who has worked with dyslexics has the experience to identify dyslexia.

  • @greenandfriendly exactly a "trained" teacher....and I'm sure that is rare to come by..... My cousin and son went through the system without a word for years that they have dyslexia. My husband and I are the ones who pinpointed my sons!!! So many aspects of this is true! Dyslexia is SO commonly misdiagnosed at ADHD ........

  • No shool could ever diagnose Dyslexia. A Neuropsychologist can. Orton-Gillingham Mason Tutors have been heaven sent. Still fighting the schools to do what is "appropriate". In the eyes of education--intelligent, quiet, barely passing kids--that's good enough! We need more awareness and parent support groups.

  • I have dyslexia and its really emdarassimg because in languege arts i am putting bs instead of ds, and i read backwards and whemever my teachr says "put ur book on the right side of ur desk" i ask my friends which is whcih

  • @zreebs123 I had trouble learning to drive as the instructor would say turn left and I'd go the wrong way or panic about which way it was. Now I always think to myself what hand do I write with and imagine the feel of the pen in that hand. Try wearing a ring or wrist band on your left hand. Hold your thumb straight out and your left hand makes an L shape for left.

  • @greenandfriendly I have dyslexia and im in my last year of school and i got bullied the hole time i was in year 8-9. The most i hate about being dyslexia is that most teachers don't know how to help people with dyslexia

  • @ladom5991 Sounds like you have had a terrible time :( You are completely right. Many teachers are completely ignorant. 10% of the population has some form of dyslexia but teachers are not usually given more than a few hours training - just remember they know less than you! I still meet teachers who think there is no such thing as dyslexia - its just laziness. I know a teacher who's own son is a dyslexic kid and they won't get them any help because they think it is something to be ashamed of.

  • @greenandfriendly yes yes i do sadly but my school is now try there best to help get in to my college i really want to go and that it is sad to hear about that boy as well have you got dyslexia

  • @greenandfriendly if have hard time knowing what is right and left. do like i did break your army(both bones inside it) thats how i learned what was left and rightXD

  • @zreebs123 i can totaly relate, I to this day still mix up b's and d's

  • I am dyslexic, I sometimes learn completely, many times ı learn slowly. When a different teacher (a teacher who can teaches different brains) teaches me, ı catch on the lesson, but ı often "mix it all together" in maths exam!!! :|

  • I was born writing left handed, but the school i went to made me write with my right. so i wrote all my words backwards, and it took me twice as long as every one else to finish my work, almost all of it was incomplete. I have terrible hand writing. And i feel like i have to rush just to keep up.

  • Man, i wish i kew about the help i could have got when i was in school. I had such a hard time in school, I barely past each grade. Most of the time i didnt do homework because they wanted me to do it a certain way, but it was so difficult for me to do it that way, if i did it my way i wouldnt get any points because they would think i cheated. when i was in highschool i eventually did it my way and worked a bit better even though i got in trouble with the teachers alot.

  • wahh that kid needs ta become the baddassest kidnextdoor secret agent and jus Uhaul ass over all thems bullies who just donts understands folks that think faster than they write .

  • this.is.me

  • This is sometimes called visual dyslexia and is a common difficulty for many (but not all) dyslexics. Where your eyes have difficulty tracking across a line there are several things you can do to help: 1. Use coloured glasses or acetate to lay on the page. You can be tested for the right color by an optometrist or try some out to see if it helps. 2. Cut out a rectangle shape in a small card. Read with this and it will hide everything but a couple of words.

    3. Google Ann Arbor word tracking

  • maybe u can tell me whether u think im dyslexic....its not that I have problems with writing so much its all with reading, when I read my eyes are constantly darting between the line im on and the line above and below it and on the words around the word im on...it makes it very very tiring to read...and so I really try to avoid it...it just looks so complicated! I thought this might be a problem with contral fixation but im not sure...can u help?

  • I'm dyselexic...

i remember that..a teacher yelled sooo much.. cause i didnt understand simple things.(before i took the test) and i never did my homework. and my dad have dyselexia too. and he have yelled SOOOO MUCH at me.. and he still does.cause i forget things very easy.and in 10 grade somthing huge happend to me.i got a good character...in english.thats the first time i have been proud of myself. im still not really good in english.. but im trying to get better.. and i will never give up..

  • i had tinted glasses as a kid they helped a bit

  • this is fairly accurate

  • Dyslexia is a gift to develop your tolerance for hardship in order to tackle challenges.

  • wow thats me and my life but i failed im nothing and i cant help it so plz help me plz

  • @sky1husser01 People will tell you that you are lazy and stupid and you see your writing is not as good as there's, no matter how hard you try, and you start to believe it - don't think you are a failure. If you share these difficulties then you are dyslexic - and it has crushed your self-confidence. You can get help for dyslexia but it needs to be from a specially trained teacher. Find something you are good at and focus on building that skill.

  • I remember being tested for my dyslexia lol, they were fun xD

My teachers and parents were really sportive of me and I'm now pretty much cured :) but spelling is still a b!tch -.-

I'm very artistic and I'm learning two other languages (Japanese and Russian, oddly I can spell and read fine in Japanese xD) and I'm also going to be studying English in university :)

  • @xxgazegirlxx nice! it's a lot of hard work beating dyslexia, Im the same reading is fine in-fact better than some people who are not dyslexic but spelling is such a pain Im always being corrected thank god for spell check :) I think doing a degree in English is a bit beyond me, how are you coping with it if spelling is still a b!tch?

  • @dontpunchgirls I know! It feels awesome when we overcome it!

My spelling actually improved A LOT since I was 14 (I'm now 16) and I think it was because I do a lot of writing in my spare time and where I was always corrected on my common spelling errors I eventually learned how to spell them right. And if you look at English as a whole, spelling is only a small proportion of the subject. There's also grammar, understanding what your reading, etc.I can do everything else fine, just not spelling

  • Me,my child and my dad are dyslexic.seems only the boys in my family have it

  • im just guessing that i have it. do u think i should test for it ?? my signs are prtty much very close. 1 of my friend told i have it for sure. can u give any advice on what should i do at this point. which doctor 2 see. i also find that when im at the working place it takes me longer then the averge joe. i never knew how to read or wrote teachers didnt help me at all. i get verry stress and forsterted over little things. when i was young i was very careless. know i care about everything.. thank

  • @heyyo1987 Sorry I saw your post and then totally forgot about it - curse my dyslexic memory! From everything you have said I would say it is certain you are dyslexic but I'm not sure what you should do now. I would google dyslexia help in your area, find a local expert and get their advice. A dyslexia test can be very expensive and would just confirm what you already know. Personally I think it is better to get special lessons that can show you strategies to help you get better - good luck.

  • greenandfriendly thank u for the help. do think i have dyslexic?? i mean i always been bad with school. home work takes me for ever and still get a bad mark. im always low confendent. i try hard to study but ending quiting. i cant remmeber what i studied. my spelling is horrible, also writing. im ok with reading. my hand writing is messy. i been imroving on math. im prty good at art and sports. cant remmber phone numbers, also names. have problems with '.'','!'. im 24yrrs old i need help.

  • @heyyo1987 I'm dyslexic and I worked in a dyslexia centre for years. Everything you describe are typical signs of dyslexia. Most people think its just reading and spelling but its also forgetting phone numbers and names, taking longer to do stuff, forgetting what people tell you and loads more - its enough to drive you nuts but you've got to take that frustration and use it to make you stronger. You've recognised the problem and you're already starting to do something about it.

  • GET SOME COLORED GLASSES! Like trying to teach a blind person to drive a car. You can tell them how to shift and turn, but they can't see the road. In 1988, 60 minutes aired a segment, colored glasses for dyslexics. I was severally dyslexic. I went out and got a pair. Purple was my color. Blues or reds are the colors that work best. At 28 I could read for the first time! I could see the print. It's a physical handicap. Side note, after laysic eye surgery I don’t need my colored glasses any more.

  • im at college know and i find it very challanging. when the teacher post a question online it takes me long to understand it. when i have home work it takes me for forever to finish and i still get a bad mark :(((((. also i spoke late. also it took me long to thia up my shoe. my parents still think im useless. i was trying so hard to finish high school. teachers wer just like my parents they never understood me. people this video is sooo true. i only need 1 thing, HELP!!!

  • plz people i need ur help. seens i was born i was called lazy, slow, and bad at school. i hated going 2 school sooo bad that i protended i was always sick. my parents always use to talk about how good and smart my bro and sister wer. i feelt so dam and stupied. by the way im 23yrs and and still find writting and spelling hard. i cant remmber numbers like math formulas and phone numbers. no matter how hard i try i could never remmber my phone number. my marks wer always bad.

  • @heyyo1987 All classic signs of dyslexia and that makes life very, very difficult. You are NOT stupid but when everyone is telling you that its hard to not believe it. You need help from a specialist trained teacher (Google it in your area) but once you leave school it all costs - I'd love to make a free online program to help dyslexics. One day when I stumble on a bag of gold.

  • I`m Dyslexic.. I did Ok at school but I became a musician :)

  • i'm dyslexic but seriously this is too funny :)

  • Bit of truth in that lol, but I have it because I have rapid memory loss :/

  • that sore throat imitation sounded eerily like gollum from lord of the rings

  • The weird thing with my dyslexia is that I could spell but had great difficulty at reading it was really strange and still is, although once I could start reading I never really have stopped XD I love stories they are just so awesome once you get into a good book.

  • Excelente

  • A friend of mine who I was very close too told me he needed some help and had dyslexia now I can understand how he felt now I feel very sorry for him

  • Umm I need ur help, I took many teat and they showed that I'm dyslexic, and I watched many videos and they also 'told' me that I'm dyslexic, especially this1 (its just my life!) but when I asked my mom if I could get a test see if I really am she said tht I'm not and she doesn't want me to take the test, all my friends say that she's worried about me, but I don't really think so could u pls inbox me for help! I'm just really scared

  • @riianjenny How old are you Jenny & what country are you living in?

I have posted my story in responce to another comment,

I would occasionally mention to my mum that i thought that i had a problem etc, but she would laugh it off, thinking that i was being dramatic. It took a conversation with a close friend for me to investigate further. After i was diagnosed, when i told my mum she burst into tears, i think more 2 do with feeling guilty.

maybe u should make an appointment without your mum.

  • @riianjenny i dunno what country you are in or what your dyslexia is like as everyone's dyslexia is different, but i found these sites helpful. dyslexiaservices and dyslexiaclinic

  • @riianjenny i dunno what country you are in or what your dyslexia is like as everyone's dyslexia is different, but i found these sites helpful. dyslexiaservices and dyslexiaclinic

  • I have dyslexia. My reading specialist helps me cope the everyday challenges with reading. As a child, i was always terrified of reading out loud, I HATED books but my teachers and parents thought I was just lazy when it came to studies. I was bullied and one time a boy came up to me and started calling me dumb and stupid and I pulled his hair really hard. I was stuck in detention for 5 weeks. Its too bad that most dyslexics have to face troubles and obstacles in their life when they are perfec

  • I think I have dyslexia. Man english class is hard for me

  • i use to have dislexia but they coulnt figure me out. when i was a little kid like 4 i could already speak english and spanish. they thought that if i could speak 2 diferent languages that i shouldnt have dislexia but it was because of the way people taught gave me dislexia. from 1-3 they put me in a bilingual class

if you want to know more send me a message on you youtube account plz thanks

  • i think that i might be dyslexic, but my parents think that i am lazy, but im not.i hate being called on in class to read out loud because i end up stuttering alot and pausing after every word. and its very hard to remember things especially in science class. i just walked up to my mom and said "mom i think i might be dyslexic." and she said "HA don't even wish about being that".and i said "but mom im being serious!"and she just said "yea right. now go do your homework!". can u please help me!

  • I have to read out loud at class all the time. I stutter and freeze up and add in words every sentence

  • That is completely me

  • why is he no older after a year?

  • Is dyslexic another word for stupid?

  • @Elit3KD thats mean...

  • @Elit3KD Definition of dyslexia "a general term for disorders that involve difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters, and other symbols, BUT THAT DO NOT EFFECT GENERAL INELLIGENCE." I'm dyslexic and can guarantee you my IQ is higher that yours.

  • Comment removed

  • i find the very funny even though im dyslexic hahaha

  • OMG ITS ME!

  • dont judge dyslexics ,dyslexics are teople poo

  • @stormbouy haha, idiot :)

  • This is patronising to me (I am Dyslexic). People who are Dyslexic aren't idiots, and this video makes that boy out to be an idiot. Fuck this video.

  • I liked this video . it made me undestand that just becase im dislexic dosent mean im stupid. it just means i see things different than others.

i still wish i was normal tho...

  • @JayStarBerry You're the sort of moron that gives people who actually are Dyslexic a bad name. Saying you WISH you were normal? That's fucking shocking. To say you wish you're normal implies that you think YOU'RE NOT NORMAL FOR BEING DYSLEXIC! WHAT THE FUCK?!

  • @Tedaus20 uhhh.. its my opinion and if i wanted to write that i can thankyou very much ... so how about u shutup because u dont tell me what to write and what not to write if i wanted to write that i can . and u CANT do anything about it ! CAN YOU ? so STFU AND GET A LIFE CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN ARGUE WITH SOME IDIOT OVER THE INTERNET !

  • This is the story of my life

  • @ayoopdog same. maybe i should get help seeing as i am doing IB lol.

  • lol i love the way teacher beggs with a box of chocolates now if only my horrible 5th grade teacher would do that

  • @kittysuperstar11

Yes, it's a pretty unlikely scenario, isn't it?! We do get a lot of comments about that. It's just a bit of fun really :)

  • do dyslexics really have bigger brains? thats very interesting, ive never heard it before! I'm dyslexic and studying Politics at University, its bloody difficult I can tell you, but its the only thing im quite good at so I have to keep going!

If I could I would love to see what its like to write an essay without dyslexia, my educational psycologist said that I dont realise how hard I have to try to get up to the same standard as others. Keep going everyone and do what you love!

  • Yea, in 5th grade I had to take a couple tests. Felt really stupid taking them. Later I found out I had gotten a few questions wrong, I don't think they found anything but my mom was a little worried that I did. It just takes me a long time to do work.

  • What a lovely, appealing video! And what a great way to use your talent to help and encourage others who face a very disheartening situation! I am not a teacher, but I do work in a school, and will now be even more aware of the need to watch for children with dyslexia and do what I can to assist them.

  • i have dyslexia. im terrible at english, math, art, design and technologie and more than any other subject that you can think of. all of my tests i have done bad on. and i find scool very hard and infuriating... But i try my hardest and all the teachers think im just an idiot. or i dont pay attention. its just that i dont understand and even if i ask then the teachers just blame me for not listening. i just keep my head down and doo the work. At the moment im not doing so well. But i hope il befine

  • @pynassus

That film is based on my experiences at school except that I was kicked out and home schooled for a while. Sounds like history is repeating its self again and school is making your life complete hell. It will either make you stronger and determined to prove them wrong or crush your confidence. There will be stuff you are good at but you just can't see it yet. Just remember school doesn't last forever and when you get out it will be you making the decisions.

  • @greenandfriendly OMG this is me mate; I have suffered so much with self doubt, poor confidence and just sheer stress all my life it has finally taken its toll and my work has suffered. I have all these symptoms. Thank you for this video this is brilliant. :)

  • @pynassus an IDIOT thats mean if they had dyslexia they would know how it feels well i dont have dyslexia but i will never call someone an IDIOT maybe their the idiots

  • @pynassus Dyslexic people are not stupid they just have a different knowledge. Studies have shown that Dyslexic people could have a multidimensional thought process and are capable of seeing things differently than others, they are known to be very aware of situations with other people and the environment.

everyone listed has had dyslexia. Albert Einstein used his imagination to come up with relativity theory; Thomas Edison used his to invent; Walt Disney to entertain us. I also have it.

  • But sadly that is not always the case. my brother also has dislexia and he has found that he has a like for science and he is younger than me and i still dont know what im good at :/

  • @samanthabarber1 I was told to pay more attention and concerntrate better and that i needed to improve on my proof reading skills. School was always a constant battle for me, and i just felt exhausted. I was probably about 12 or 13 years old and i would be at home having huge tantrums over homework, i would just get so frustrated and i would make my mum so frustrated with me.

  • @samanthabarber1 I would constantly say that i can't do it and that it is too hard, she would get frustrated and say, i don't get why it is so hard, just listen to what i am saying, we would just end up yelling at each other which did not achieve anything. School was one of the hardest times in my life, especially high school. I worked out what i was better at, in year 12 i did all subjects without exams, knowing that it would be the only way that i would pass year 12

  • @samanthabarber1 however this left me unable to go to university as i did not gain a TER score, but i knew this would be my only chance to complete my SACE (south australian certificate of education) I have since gone to tafe and am currently working as an enrolled nurse. It is not easy and life can constantly be a battle, but my life has been made so much easier since being diagnosed with PERCEPTUAL DYSLEXIA as i now have these silly green/blue glasses that make my life sooo much easier.

  • @pynassus As a teacher, tell them you have dyslexia and they need to start serving your needs.

  • Collyjist?

  • @rayblack2004

  • @RubbaDuckyLuva Wow seriously? Your joking about dyslexia, that's low.

  • damn.Even though I'm not dyslexic but I suck at Mathematics!!!

  • @PokemonBakuganFreak its called dycalculia

  • I'm dyslexic =( you dont wanna be a dislexic

  • the good thing about dyslexia is that we have a bigger brain :D

and good at every thing ells but maths, and English stuff.

  • @Cizza225 As far was we know dyslexia is no barrier to joining the military or the police. In fact, we know dyslexic people in both positions so I'm not sure where you got the idea that you wouldn't be able to join the armed forces because you should be fine.

  • What an excellent video! I am studying to be a teacher and am learning about different learning difficulties and how to help the student in the classroom =)

  • lol so true just like me :(

  • I'm happy to be dyslexic even though it's really hard sometimes but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • this is all true i have dislexia i cant read write spell or anythink

  • @Tox1cTortois32 me too dude.

  • My favorite part is the box of chocolate and apology from the teacher! If only.... :)

  • @ltramey Yes, we weren't sure whether to keep that part in it actually. Most of the teachers we work with were unanimous in saying that would never happen, but ultimately we thought we'd retain it as a bit of fun :) Thanks for your feedback.

  • FENOMENALAN VIDEO!!!
