KCBS received a ton of response from viewers on their pessimistic news style, they began to air more uplighting and non-dramatic news specials or segments like "What's right with Southern California" in the late 90s. KCAL 9 is a subsidary of KCBS today, but hasn't yet changed its' tune of how they report the news with less tabloid-style nature. +
Bree Walker looks grotesque now after her (botched) plastic surgery. Michael Tuck rocked - liked the 'Commentary' segment he had for a while. Heard he suffered a stroke several months ago and can no longer work.
has anyone seen Bree Walker lately? she is totally unrecognizable form the plastic surgery...I saw her in a documentary...I also in that documentary found out she had a prosthetic hand because she was born with a birth defect...
With this "tabloid"-type format Michael Tuck, using a hurried, slurred delivery, got on some viewers' nerves. Apparently he didn't care much for the format either, for he reportedly engaged in a brief shoving match with Lippman one night in 1993, for unknown reasons.
KCAL 9 used to have ties with the Walt Disney company and RKO corp. when it was KHJ-TV in the 1970s, later Disney was increasingly in KABC's business and in 1996, Disney purchased ABC networks while they had to let go of KCAL. KHJ radio was part of CBS radio when it also had K-EARTH 101 (remember the jingle?) before 1990 when KHJ radio was sold to become a Mexican mariachi music station. +
Those were the days of "if it bleeds its leads" Action News, with gritty cover stories and gravelly voiced announcers. Oh yes, they were bashing other stations because their programming was "prerecorded" while Action News clips were only "recorded".
Walker/Tuck (KCBS) was better than Moyer/Lange (KNBC) and tied for the best with Greene/Martin (KABC)

How come the Current CBS2 and KCAL9 staff the majority have ties to ABC7 Eyewitness News in the 1970's to 2000's?
