  • It's in B, not A.

  • please do a lesson on this

  • Thank you for the unsolicited support, Rorschachxx1985!

  • thank you for the unsolicited support, Rorschachxx1985! Sucking is something better reserved for vacuum cleaners. Or in other words, beat it, dcsantiago.

  • @QuiltedPine is that meant to be a compliment? lol i think ur good though and its a terrible shame that there arent a lot of videos on rainbow because there one of the best heavy metal/ hard rock bands out there

  • @Rorschachxx1985

what exactly? Thank you for your compliment. I can't remember what I said that was supposed to meant a compliment! Sorry...

  • @QuiltedPine well said yh fuck u dcsantiago

  • you suck really bad.

  • You should take the slide into the hand to get a better control. Ritchie does it this way and I tried it too...it works better.

  • Great cover

  • key is b not a??

  • Watch Joe Trigo do the solo on Smoke On The Water. See what you think.

  • nice try mate! this solo is very difficult with the slide, close to impossible to play as clean as Blackmore:((( i'd try to play it without slide

  • Dude, you're in the wrong key. It's in B minor.

    You're playig it in A.

  • Hmmm... I didn't believ you until I got my tuning fork and re-listened to the song. But keep in mind, this is my first attempt. I think it's in the correct pitch in the later version. I redid the song another time after that... Thanks fo rthe comment anyway.

  • you bioth may be partially right. remember that Bm played over A makes myxolydian A.

  • I don't even know that stuff. I never took the time to learn it. My ear tells me what notes to play as long as my internal Phase locked loop is functionning! Granted it can be off sometimes, but that's not the point here.

You are Probably right I just don't know theory!

    peace

  • @QuiltedPine yh fuck u pepper123 this is awesome

  • sounds cool mate, would be cool if you could put in a backing track in there, and maybe play at the pitch the song is in :) its in B major, dunno what mode. 7th fret low e :)

  • Aha! you are right, however, I should remove this video because it was done on the fly I hadn't listened to the song in months! Go check out the other version I did, it's better... And I think it's minor, what makes you say it's major?

  • hmm..sorry typo, its minor lol..most blues songs are :)i had a long day :P

  • i like the sound u played it!! very good!!!

  • Somewhat Better, Piney...keep after It, and I feel certain that you'll Get It, you have the fingers for it, and No, I'm Not the illegitimate son of Herr Blackmore, I was just nicknamed Baby Blackmore by my band in L.A. many moons ago cuz I was always playing his stuff.

I too make my own stuff, as no manufacturer makes ANYTHING to suit me, and everyone here loves my Strat's Necks and electronics...

Please Feel Free to contact me if I can be of any help to my new Canadian friend!!!

    Peace

  • Yes, that is quite helpful, although I will have to learn some musical theory as I am not sure what a ninth degree of a note is. Funny cause I know what a fith and a third are, easily. I have been wanting to change the stock pickups for real fender pickups.

  • I can't BELIEVE you had the balls to post this Absolute SHIT...you are so far off you need to be a Rapper...Sorry, Dude, but do your Homework before you post anything by Blackmore again, Please....

    Peace

  • Your comment is noted. Judging by your age and the kind of videos you've favourited, you've heard a lot of stuff and you have good (to me) musical taste. I also appreciate the same kind of music. But I wouldn't go and insult another music style to express your dislike of what someone does. May I ask if you can play guitar, and if so, would you mind posting your version?

My sound sucks, I'll admit that.

  • I Do Indeed. You may find me on Yearbook as Keith Blitz. There is a short clip there. I Do Not play for Free, unless doing a Benefit/Charity event. I have too much money invested in equipment to just do it for Fun.

Apologies for the Rant, but I'm Very Protective of the Masters, and not even an attempt to use a slide bar on the solo just Irked the Hell outta me. A Bic lighter or beer bottle neck can be substituted for practice purposes, or a mic stand.

Keep After It!!! You'll get There!!!

    Peace!

  • Well, thank you for your rational and informative reply. I did practice quite a bit before posting and actually, I ALSO thought it was not worthy, SO, I posted a remake of the whole song, and it 's listed in my other videos. I guess you shouldn't look at any other videos cause they might irritate you also. Well, you can't please everyone...

    Peace

  • Use Youtube as a resource..if you are truly a Blackmore fan, watch all the old live stuff, and Veoh is a resource as well. A key trait of Dad's is to not play chords, but to play the root(low e string) and the 5th (d string if you were making the whole chord) and stacatto picking, ie: the rythym track on Smoke. He also likes to start leads on the 9th of the chord. Melodic. Very. You should also get some stock DiMarzio HS3's for your axe, neck first. Hope that helps. Lemme Know.

    Peace

  • perfect! how did you get that great sound? did you use tubescreamer?

  • No, just a Yamaha FX500 effects processor (1990,old) set to some preset I thought was good for that song. I never use loads of distortion, just a bit of reverb and about 40ms of delay. Frankly I think it is difficult to tell how good a sound sounds because of the lo-fi quality of the audio tracks, at least in the wma format.

  • Well done!

  • Thank you. Now, all of you go see the better version I did! Anyway I think it was better, more rehearsed.

  • just like me, no backup music, i hate havin to do it this way, sounds good though.good job, blackmore, easily the best ever, hey im 53 ive seen it all an heard it all, how about barry bailey of atlanta rythm section, seen them a good bit, beautiful , les paul an marshall plexi tone, very underrated, an the second lead, steve stone, they signed my 79 strat a few years ago, along with ronnie, barry, an justin on bass, great guys barry an steve severely underrated.

  • awesome

  • sry but i miss the intro?!

not bad but the coolest part of this song is the intro riff

    post it plz

  • Yeah, my camera has a delay... I hadn't figured it out until I uploaded it. I will redo this soon, with the intro.

  • Bravo!...QuiltedPinemore, next up: "Light in the Black"......good effort...keep playing...nice strat....now get a gorgeous blonde wife, half your age!!!...nice to see some young players with good taste...fellow Canuck!

  • Thanks! You should go see my redone version(with the intro). I shall try Light in the dark, and with luck, get a girlfriend first! Thanks my Canadian friend

  • matate Conshaetumare!!
