Of course other Christians consider him a saint too, since there was only one Church without schism when he lived. Not sure about the "non-Christians" bit... I think they're missing the central point. Since they've turned his day into something commerical, just like has happened to Saint Nicholas.

Patrick operated independent of Rome. Rome hadn't exerted control over the Celtic Christians until centuries later and in doing so pretty much killed their tradition. It's a myth created by Roman Catholic apologists to say Patrick was a Roman Catholic. He was a Christian evangelist. Period.
