it was program mukesh lata & ushamangeshkar live song was uplam chapalam, bade armano se rakkha hai balam teri kasam, yeh rat yeh chandani fir kaha what is the name of this program its dvd available or not?
They are four sisters... Lata, Asha, Usha & Meena... And one brother Hridaynath... Everyone of them related with music... And Lata Ji is influence to the youngers... So if anybody calls Lata a barrier to the youngers that's a slap to her...
@tupsi4peter Lata is Lata... Asha became famous when Lata became more more selective... Even Geeta Dutt was better than Asha... She always pretend to be the best singer and sang so many cheap songs to get fame... But now a days her voice has gained a very good tone...
* The queens of Indian Film songs. Their voices still sound good. No one could ever replace Lata or her sister. I wonder sometimes what happened to this type of music along with the songs of Mukesh and Mohamed. Now this disco nonsense
Wow. I always enjoy listening to this my favorite song.
Thanks gussie5555 Thums Up.
Thanks T& J ji for sharing. Usha ji sings very well but see the entry of Lata ji! So sweet, melodious, nectar dripping ,soulful voice. So many times i feel like singing but with whom? I think i just go ahead and sing both sister's lines myself.Right friend ?With respect. Sarla.
i alwayz keep asha bhonsle ahead of lata...no matter wat da world thinks....ashaji is da best n as u all know, she had sunged da most no.hits with guru[kishore]........
@tupsi4peter I agrried with you about Asha ji. but hang on ,what are you talking about Guru Kishor. have you heard Mahan Mohd Rafi Sahib. He is Guru of Gurus in Music industry
The red dot or bindi made of vermilion is supposed to be sacred for both men and women, it was sported on the forehead to have all the prosperiety and later only the women kept it permanently as a mark to ward off ill luck. the actual vermilion is prepared by mixing turmeric powder and lime with a bit of water and thus we get this wonderful red colour.

when u are married u have dot with SINDOOR ETWEEN UR HAIR UNTIL THEY MERGE, WHEN U ARE UN MARIED U HAVE NO SINDOOR BUT U ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE THE DOT OR BINDIYA
no married womans have red colour between their hair from the forehead till the hairs the bindi in the forehead is the indian cusom and readition it does not mean you are married or single
Beautifully sung by sisters. I do not know if Usha is married but I know Lata is not. So why is she having the dot on her forehead? I had the impression that only married Indian women wear his dot. Please enlighten us. Thanks.
The real sign of a married hindu woman is a mark of vermillion ( sindur ) between the separation of hair right at the middle of the top of the forehead area. The dot you are seeing on Lataji's forehead is just a part of make up. Any hindu woman young, married or unmarried can have that.
"I will offer SamarQand and Bukhara for the dot on the forehead of an Indian woman". I love these dots but they have to be small, not a big blop. In a utube song(Film Perbat), Geeta and Lata have these dots. The one on Lata is really attractive. Thanks for for your nice info. By the way Lata was attractive woman when young. I am surprised she remained single.
@Bajaury Married or not "Bindi" is sign of Prosperity and cultural tradition of Hindu woman. There is a lot about the "Kumkum" on the forhead of a woman. It is not possible to write here.
