  • alines ..

  • She is amazing. Her and Alka Yagnik are my favoirte women that sing Bollywood!!!

  • i miss you

  • Latka is very beautiful, adorable and promiscuous. We love him!

  • Great classic from Lata. One of her best. I totally agree that Lata should start appearing in movies with her sister Asha Bhosle. Lata is outright the Queen of Queen Diva's and that's coming from someone who is not Indian. English Asian and proud. However, great songs and melodious artists defy boundaries, like Lata, Asha and Nusrat Fateh Ali. Now if only countries could take a page from the universal success of these artists.

  • I just learned about Lata today in my ethnomusicology class and she is a beast. Over 25,000 songs recorded. So legit

  • How can someone dislike this song

  • this is a precious song...

  • live and live again the greatest ever

  • live and live again

  • beautiful

  • Lata mangeshkar very very hit and popular song . In the world

  • Im from North Eurpe, from a small country Latvia, I love hindi songs and films, they are wonderfull. :) I study hindi language.

  • All those songs for all those years... and did it never occur to any Indian film producer to actually have Lata IN the movie, singing a song? Even today, her 80+ yr old voice is being absurdly lip-sync'd by 24 yr old actresses. How about someone writing a Bollywood movie with a singing grandmother character, played by the genius herself: Lata Mangeshkar?

    D'uh!!!!!!

  • @nauort23 Lataji did feature in 2000 movie PUKAAR singing the song "Ek tu hi Bharosa"- another gem at such old age!!

  • @nauort23 You are a genious - but... how about including some martial arts?!

Lata Mangeshkar was the better of the two. Yes?

  • @PissMickey Martial arts? sure. Anything that gets Indians wet and scantily clad works for me. Lata was the better fo the two... what? Two singers, as in Lata & Rafi? I don't know that I'd say that. Many Indians consider Rafi to be better. Me, sitting here in America at my computer..., I gotta go with Lata.

  • Comment removed

  • @nauort23 She did appear in the movie Pukaar for the song 'Ek tu hi bharosa"

Also, according to various interviews, she does not prefer to appear in front of the camera to act (..to put it mildly)

  • @froodo1 Hey, thanks. That makes much more sense!

  • @nauort23 Agree 100%

  • @nauort23 -whenever I feel like singing, I just play old Latah tapes and lip-sinc to them. Doesn't everyone?

  • @nauort23 I read in an interview she did a while ago that Lata had said she did not like acting. Early on the film rolls she took was simply to support her family after her fathers death. Maybe even now she still does not like being infront of the camera. Like you, I wish she would though.

  • I LIKE ALL

  • The voice that is is everywhere. I really love this woman.

  • this song reminds me of 1989 when i was in college. this song warms my heart.

  • Live you

  • I did a bollywood dance for this and we got silver ;)))

  • Can anybody tell me which movie this song is from?

  • @gurjit1984 It says it in the info "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" with Jim Carrey...

  • @gurjit1984 great movie!

  • very nice

  • lovely

  • I'm Black and I love Hindi music. I grew up watching Bollywood movies with my Grandparents (They are from Trinidad & Tobago) and I have been in love since then. The garbage on the radio cannot compare to this. Hindi music is peaceful, refreshing, and hypnotizing.

  • @FreeBree6 it used to be...unfortunately these days the songs have lost their bollywood touch and have started sounding more westernized... and they sound really bad lol.... i just hope india starts making songs like this again

  • @FreeBree6 sell out u should be watching Nollywood movies instead (just kidding)

  • @NicKingPapiChulo =D! Nollywood (Kajola and Nollywood Babalyon) From Bollywood, Nollywood, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese Cinema; I'll watch them all. (If I only had the time LOL).

  • @FreeBree6 Thanks from India freebree :)

  • its not just a song ..it has an effect on me i am going mad ..lol

  • Could somebody please translate this? I've started learning Hindi few months ago and I think some of the words are Urdo if I'm not mistaken...

    A white guy from NZ

  • @NewZealandAri You're correct, actually Hindi and Urdu are two standardized registers of the same language called Hindustani. The everyday language is the same, the only difference between them is the vocabulary and technical terminology used - if you watch the news you'll notice it. Hindi uses more Sanskrit words, whilst Urdu relies more on Persian and Arabic words, their grammar, however, is identical. Hindi is written in the Devanagari script; Urdu is written in the Perso-Arabic script.

  • i'd do a translation but my hindi/urdu is quite weak... i dnt understand some of the words myself .... basic gist is .... "waada na tod = don't break your promise" but u probably worked that out already lol,

  • HERMOSISIMA CANCION DE UNA DE LAS MAS ANTIGUAS CULTURAS DEL MUNDO. Gracias por publicarla

  • @ramprashad29 Don't dignify people like belindabell2 with a response, dear. People like that are called 'trolls' because they are ugly, unloved creatures that live with the shun of society. The internet is their only social outlet since they're not accepted by the general public.

  • Hi, im from Lima, Perú (South America). I love this song. Lata Mangeshkar, come to Peru.

  • @IHateUsernames95 Lots of rock music, I'm sure 80s rock has more potential and strength than this. 21st century rock is crap
