At least if your gonna give him a rabbit let it be a dead one. That poor rabit that thought it was gonna have a good home and it gets hung upside down to be dangled in front of a python and gets earn alive that is so sad
this one was a dead rabbit. it was pre-killed before it was given to him. thats why i had to dangle it infront of the snake likt that. if the food is already dead a lot of snakes wont take it unless you dangle it infront of them. the movement helps to get the snakes attention and trigger his feeding response. snakes are not scavengers so they dont naturally see dead animals as a food source.
@hindikoalamilalagay Yeah yeah, this badass snake needs to eat anyway. And think a bit, humanity eats tons of chickens and rabbits, we kill them then eat them, its the same.
I remember in 1st grade about every class had a class pet and I happened to be in a class with a python for a class pet!!! I was the only one in the class who got to feed it because all the other kids just wanted to see the other classses pets ( at the time my school had 3 classes per room ) I fell in love with snakes ever since they were just the cutest things to me and I wanted one but my mom didnt like the idea of bringing a snake into the house
I would be freaked out of my mind if I was feeding a prekilled animal to him. He's just so fast, what if he bit your fingers?? lol!!! That was just so sudden, scared me to death thats for sure lol.
Gorgeous burm! That was a crazy strike, seemed like it was coming then bam! She is quick at getting those coils around too. I really like her colors though, very nice.
i usually use a CO2 chamber but i need to refill the CO2 canister..its empty..so i used a metal bar to hold him down and dislocated the spinal colum at the base of the neck. its almost always an instant kill so the feeder doesn't suffer.
head lock!

Cool! I like pre killed food better because it tastes the same for the snake and the animal was killed humanely.

His reflexes are amazing, and yours must be as well to dodge that shot (or he's just incredibly careful!).
Interesting video that I'm using for my amphibian biology class.

@ffsn99b
yea, feeders get bloody noses sometimes when you pre-kill them.
BoasOfColor 1 year ago
@ffsn99b yeah. the python kinda squeezed the blood out of the body so it came out by the mouth i imagine
