  • theres a lake near my house that i catch 2 1/2 pound bluegill in. But i wont eat anything in freshwater where i live, the lakes are nasty

  • Awesome take

  • that's a really nice bluegill ; ]

  • @fortunespoons dude... youve never tried bluegill. that might be a sin. try some... theyre plentiful, easy to clean, and most importantly delicious.

  • Thats a Green Sunfish ain't it?

Anyway NICE catch, check out the Big one on my channel as well.

  • It's a bluegill

  • thats a pretty fish!(*

  • I catch ones like that on medium to heavy action rods and they still feel big, great job reeling in that monster on a fly rod.

  • damn here in North Texas you cant find to many big ones

we got to many people after the big ones at once that lazy people like me get there to late and all the big ones are allready in someones freezer lol

plenty of 8 inchers cant find any larger :(

  • @TexasReb93 im from new jersey and commonly catch 9 - 11 inchers lol the fight hard!

  • nice fish

  • Big bluegill

  • You guys should look up "perris lake bluegill" those things get enormous.

  • to fishnkid. Get a light enough rod and even the little guys put up a good fight :D

  • i hate it when the little bluegill hit before the big ones do,

  • lol its a big fish but i always laugh when

    you say "he;'s a big 1!!

  • taste this fish good ?

  • A delicacy in the southern states. Never tried it myself.

  • @fortunespoons Give it a try... I've had crappie, bluegill, catfish that I caught and the bluegill tastes best.

  • @k1ngaprilia

the best damn freshwater fish in existance. period. crappie and perch are comparible but bluegill/sunfish are the best tasting period. It's not an oppinion, its a fact lol.

  • that is one big bluegill

  • you should ve just pulled him out of the water you said you were using a 5 wt

  • 5 wt rod yes, but 2 lb. tippet

  • that was a blue gill

  • a bluegill is a sunfish. damn.

  • @erkod so are black bass, shell crackers, rock bass, longears, and several others.

  • @erkod not exactly. the term sunfish is more broad. blue gill is more specific. it like saying bass or spotted bas.

  • @erkod actually they are

  • for a little fish they put up a hell of a fight
