If the Hillsong church is truly about god and helping others they will give every penny they've got out to help others DESPITE race, religion and sexual orientation. Witholding money from the needy because they don't belive in their religion is pure evil! Just watch, they won't give up their money, it takes better are of them than there "god".
As to being fit, God's people should be fit. We need to be eating healthy and taking care of our temples. We are here to be in service to Jesus, not to die before our time due to unhealthy habits.

Pastor Brian is consistently using the word of God and he teaches poeple how to apply it to their lives which goes hand in hand with whats instructed in Bible by the Apostles to be doers of the word not just hearers. My pastor has two offering calls from time to time for works going on in other nation...thats an offering seperate from the first because it's for a particular work.
No song in the world is going to make people give money in the offering!!! when I became a Christian tithing was a given- not even questioned on my part, the Spirit of God taught me the truth and the Way of God. A women will only feel like they are nothing if they do not obey the Way because they Love God. Being submitted to my husband is not easy, trust me, but God's way is the best way and He always leads me, daily. I would feel like nothing I suppose if I was in total rebellion against God's way and I didnt submit under His will. This video is a total garbage. My church is only about 100 people and you would not believe the handful of folks who having been in church for years leave over something so dumb, such as having to apologize for something, or because we don't have enough "signs and wonders". and they can't just leave and leave it alone, oh no they have to talk bad about the church and the people and this or that. Do you know how much they make when they do Hillsong Europe conference? We did the maths and they run it at a loss. So it can't always be about the money? Don't agree with everything they teach however.
The conferences always run at a loss because the church leaders don't make money from donations.they get loads of volunteers to run it for free.but I bet the resource sales were not included in the calculations.and thats where the Houstons make their money..they subsidize the European churches because its about getting access to market share..
in 2006 a financial report was leaked and showed the Houstons made $1.4million in resource sales
I don't have a problem someone making money from intelectual property, however if they made it from the collection plate that is wrong as that belongs to the Lord.
@hillsongchurch Oh and also we did some calculating regarding resources sold. There was around 6,000 people there cost £130? I think, I baugt say £30 resource but say in totoal £200 per person, so multiply it up = £1,200,000 that wouldn't cover the cost for the excel arena. But say 10,000 people were there, but there really wasn't then it would be £2m still not enough. So why were they there?

It is uplifting to be around others who are in good spirits who are actively helping others. It is a real blessing to feel the spirit of God upholding you and your children through the hard times. If you havent felt that, ask Him to be with you now. Get a bible and read it daily and read proverbs, psalms, corinthians whatever... read, read and grow.

I know this because they share the Annual General Meeting Minutes, and financial reports are given to people who wants to know. My Pastor doesn't touch the money, there's a finance team that deals with it. Hillsong does the same thing, because we use their system. So before you criticize God's Church and God's people, try seeing it without hate
@gbilios people tithe 10% because that's what the Bible teaches, from Abraham to Paul...Nothing happens if you don't tithe and that is taught. It's about being obedient to the Word, If you don't do it, God wont send lighting to burn you or cause your life to be miserable. Thank God he uses anyone! In this experience of mine God used Hillsong volunteers and pastors cos unlike you He couldnt give a waddle what you look like or how much money you have or dont have or have how many albums youve made or not. He cares about people. He cares whether or not you are willing to help when you can.. whether you want to piece together other peoples broken lives.
The kids were grieving the absence of their dad too but until you experience something like we did you will dribble on and on. There is no doubt they cared about us and still do today. They never asked me for anything it was just done. You people listen to too much gossip. My life has completely turned around since then and thank God they never left me to my own devices over that season in my life and just recorded albums and thought about "marketing" alone..
They also helped us physically at home doing housework & yardwork with me. My youngest was only 17mths old, my eldest only 12 yrs and all my older kids pitched in too on those days. When these church people showed up to give us a hand my kids were grateful to have the caring people around them working at home in their young lives showing them we matter. Telling us we matter to God and God IS real.
Thank God for Hillsong church, when I lost my husband they came to my home & helped me out for 18 months until I got on my feet. I was so poor as I couldnt get single parent payment even with five children because of my residential status. I was living off what family contributions were given to me but they helped me financially over this time and kept our roof over our heads in Sydney.
What everyone seems to forget these days is the Lord and the Apostles turned the world upside down WITHOUT money. Entire cities converted when the Apostles preached to them again without money. When the lame man asked Peter for money he said, "Silver and gold have I none but such as I have give I thee, take up thy bed and walk". That is Christianity. Not this mockery. The Lord laid his head on a rock to sleep. The anointing breaks the yoke and heals the sick and changes hearts. Not money.

What are the credentials of these radio interviewees? Just attend 2-3 sessions and they are called members of Hillsong?
I personally heard Brian Houston preach in my church on several occasions and his messages drew many people closer to Jesus.
Hearing these interviewees, I KNOW they are not regular bible readers or maybe even regular church goers. If they are,, then they'll know Tithing is God's appointed way of blessing His people(Read Malachi).
If you don't worship in Hillsong, DON'T tithe there, but you should still tithe in the church you worship! Holy Communion celebrates Jesus' death at the Cross, but Tithing celebrates His Life & Resurrection, for you only give tribute to a Living King of Kings!
Check against the Word of God and see if God doesn't bless those who tithe.
My church in Asia is also one of the few mega churches in my country with millions poured in from tithes & offerings.
Testimonies abound in my church and I know of many of these people personally who came into church a poor person, in debt, and struggling to live victoriously, that within a short time of running after Jesus, tithing regularly and taking Holy Communion, grew in health & wealth. Yes, Wealth too. From poor to rich, that's God's secret to investment for you.
how can you know that? you can't know that, and you ae foolish for thinking you can. you are disparaging these people merely because you don't like what they have to say.
one more thing: just because "his messages drew many people closer to Jesus" does not put him and his teachings above scrutiny. we are to search the scriptures daily and test all things to see what is good. if someone's teachings do not line up with the word of God, they are a false teacher, no matter what the apparent "success" of their ministry might be.
Any great speaker is capable of misreading something. Even with prayerful guidance it is possible to miss something. If every pastor gave a perfect sermon everytime they would be an apostle a profit or Jesus himself. Thats not the case. But that doesnt make every pastor, or priest, a false teacher.
it is our responsibility as christians to not mindlessly accept the teachings of ANYONE that claims to be a christian, but to search the scriptures to see if what they say lines up.
remember that it was the false prophets who had many disciples. Jesus said that his path was narrow and not many would find it.
i just want to point out that just because we are christians does NOT mean that we are never to criticize someone else that calls him or herself a christian. Jesus constantly criticized the religious rulers of His day. Jesus said we should worship in spirit AND truth. paul warned that dangerous heresies and doctrines of demons would arise in the last days and challenged timothy to teach the truth.

It's a sign that God's doing something significant in the church. I know first hand that the sermons are Biblical...and by the way, if you watch hillsong TV, you will see that the scriptures are actually posted up so you can read them...so don't go sayin that there's no scripture being read.
Not just one church but just wherever I think God is calling me to give my money. Yes, Hillsong is a church that is thriving, but the persecution that it is facing just goes to show how much the enemy hates what they are doing in the world.
It seems that these false accusations from the videos come from a deep pain that this person experienced. Possibly out of a misunderstanding. Hillsong has NEVER asked me to give money to them unwillingly. This is how I work...when I tithe, I give money to wherever I am led to give.
As Christians, we are called to be unified and we are supposed to love our neighbour as ourselves. I know from first hand experience that Hillsong does this. I don't go to Hills anymore, but I was there for a year--serving in 3 different ministries, mind you--and I only experienced God's love and acceptance from others there.

At that point 20 years ago it was around 200, now its 35,000.You have to hand it to there leadership no doubt.Money can corrupt or it can bless. Prosperity gospel works while Australia's economy is booming. the first economic downturn they will leave in droves.
Hillsong is not a denomination its just one church its part of the AOG denomination which has 190,000 people. Thats 25,000 people in one church not a denomination.
The prosperity gospel is most effective in countries where there is none. its the African countries where it is doing the most damage. Besides if these people are "brain-washed" like you say they wouldnt leave even if the economy starts doing bad.

As an outsider who has observed firsthand for over two years, I can say that many of these statements are twisted or from uninformed points of view. Why must we rip into people who are doing good with no strings attached, but applaud others who do it for personal glory? There is no coercion, no strong arming. I have been to Hillsong Conference and believe they have one of the best worship/praise bands on Earth but church is more than music and there is a lot of things I dont know about Hillsong so I cant comment...All I can say is perhaps leave the church if you have a problem with it but dont bad mouth Hillsong its not the right thing to do.. perhaps Hillsongs not as good as it claims but there is definetly a lot of good coming out of this church

Discernment is a gift of the Holy Spirit. We are to discern all things against the standard of scripture. I don't care about other religions. i don't think hillsong is bad for telling people they can get what they want. this tanya woman sounds bitter. she tried to sound sensational, but failed. i agree, though, it does sound like amway. i remember the rajneesh driving rolls. tildon was exposed, too. we all know what happened to the bakkers. the supporters should see where their money goes. tildon went back on the air, so i guess people don't care, or they didn't see the special about him. many of those people only watch christian tv.
how dare a church become prosperous. dont the pastors know that it is only acceptable for the non christians to show their prosperity by driving nice cars and living in nice houses? God doesnt actually want christians to show anyone his blessings in their lives. Hed rather us live in pov houses and take the bus everywhere. the church has 25 000 members, it started in an apartment building fir about 5 people. The bible does teach about giving to the cause of God, and been committed. Its what the bible says. And that dude who said he went to church and he didn't like the way church was held because we sang 6 songs, well go back to the stone age and try and relate to people today with that mentality. god is a God who endures all ages and keeps up to date with everything.

Pastor Brian is consistently using the word of God and he teaches poeple how to apply it to their lives which goes hand in hand with whats instructed in Bible by the Apostles to be doers of the word not just hearers. My pastor has two offering calls from time to time for works going on in other nation...thats an offering seperate from the first because it's for a particular work.

I would feel like nothing I suppose if I was in total rebellion against God's way and I didnt submit under His will. Shame because Proverbs 31 is not about just being a slave to your husband. It is a wonderful chapter about wonderful womenhood. It is wonderful to be strong in all the areas spoken about in the chapter.
Notice they say they take up the offering after the music...why do some like to say that music has no effect?? Much of so called "gospel music" is moving many Christians away from the Bible and into the false teachings of the enemy of God. Pray for our brothers and sisters.

The conferences always run at a loss because the church leaders don't make money from donations.they get loads of volunteers to run it for free.but I bet the resource sales were not included in the calculations.and thats where the Houstons make their money..they subsidize the European churches because its about getting access to market share..

@hillsongchurch Oh and also we did some calculating regarding resources sold. There was around 6,000 people there cost £130? I think, I baugt say £30 resource but say in totoal £200 per person, so multiply it up = £1,200,000 that wouldn't cover the cost for the excel arena. But say 10,000 people were there, but there really wasn't then it would be £2m still not enough. So why were they there?

It is uplifting to be around others who are in good spirits who are actively helping others. It is a real blessing to feel the spirit of God upholding you and your children through the hard times. If you havent felt that, ask Him to be with you now. Get a bible and read it daily and read proverbs, psalms, corinthians whatever... read, read and grow.

I know this because they share the Annual General Meeting Minutes, and financial reports are given to people who wants to know. My Pastor doesn't touch the money, there's a finance team that deals with it. Hillsong does the same thing, because we use their system. The kids were grieving the absence of their dad too but until you experience something like we did you will dribble on and on. There is no doubt they cared about us and still do today. They never asked me for anything it was just done. You people listen to too much gossip. My life has completely turned around since then and thank God they never left me to my own devices over that season in my life and just recorded albums and thought about "marketing" alone..

They also helped us physically at home doing housework & yardwork with me. My youngest was only 17mths old, my eldest only 12 yrs and all my older kids pitched in too on those days. When these church people showed up to give us a hand my kids were grateful to have the caring people around them working at home in their young lives showing them we matter. Telling us we matter to God and God IS real.

Thank God for Hillsong church, when I lost my husband they came to my home & helped me out for 18 months until I got on my feet. I was so poor as I couldnt get single parent payment even with five children because of my residential status. I was living off what family contributions were given to me but they helped me financially over this time and kept our roof over our heads in Sydney.

What everyone seems to forget these days is the Lord and the Apostles turned the world upside down WITHOUT money. Entire cities converted when the Apostles preached to them again without money. What are the credentials of these radio interviewees? Just attend 2-3 sessions and they are called members of Hillsong?
I personally heard Brian Houston preach in my church on several occasions and his messages drew many people closer to Jesus.
Hearing these interviewees, I KNOW they are not regular bible readers or maybe even regular church goers. If they are,, then they'll know Tithing is God's appointed way of blessing His people(Read Malachi).

If you don't worship in Hillsong, DON'T tithe there, but you should still tithe in the church you worship! Holy Communion celebrates Jesus' death at the Cross, but Tithing celebrates His Life & Resurrection, for you only give tribute to a Living King of Kings!
Check against the Word of God and see if God doesn't bless those who tithe.

My church in Asia is also one of the few mega churches in my country with millions poured in from tithes & offerings.
Testimonies abound in my church and I know of many of these people personally who came into church a poor person, in debt, and struggling to live victoriously, that within a short time of running after Jesus, tithing regularly and taking Holy Communion, grew in health & wealth. Yes, Wealth too. From poor to rich, that's God's secret to investment for you.

one more thing: just because "his messages drew many people closer to Jesus" does not put him and his teachings above scrutiny. we are to search the scriptures daily and test all things to see what is good. if someone's teachings do not line up with the word of God, they are a false teacher, no matter what the apparent "success" of their ministry might be.

Any great speaker is capable of misreading something. Even with prayerful guidance it is possible to miss something. If every pastor gave a perfect sermon everytime they would be an apostle a profit or Jesus himself. Thats not the case. But that doesnt make every pastor, or priest, a false teacher.

it is our responsibility as christians to not mindlessly accept the teachings of ANYONE that claims to be a christian, but to search the scriptures to see if what they say lines up.
remember that it was the false prophets who had many disciples. Jesus said that his path was narrow and not many would find it.

i just want to point out that just because we are christians does NOT mean that we are never to criticize someone else that calls him or herself a christian. Jesus constantly criticized the religious rulers of His day. Jesus said we should worship in spirit AND truth. paul warned that dangerous heresies and doctrines of demons would arise in the last days and challenged timothy to teach the truth.

It's a sign that God's doing something significant in the church. I know first hand that the sermons are Biblical...and by the way, if you watch hillsong TV, you will see that the scriptures are actually posted up so you can read them...so don't go sayin that there's no scripture being read.

As Christians, we are called to be unified and we are supposed to love our neighbour as ourselves. I know from first hand experience that Hillsong does this. I don't go to Hills anymore, but I was there for a year--serving in 3 different ministries, mind you--and I only experienced God's love and acceptance from others there.

Yes, money corrupts, but so can bitterness. It's as easy to get bitter, jealous, and envious, as it is to get corrupted by money. If people are going to judge the folks who started Hillsong or who lead Hillsong, then lets judge them by as harsh a standard. "He who is without sin, cast the first stone...." How many have they won to Christ?? How many have they shared the gospel with?? Let's start the measure of judgement there first and see how the critics stack up....

There are always going to be people who get fed up, or feel left out or whatever, no matter how hard you try to work with them. There's always another side to the people who claim to be the 'other side' of the coin, when it comes to church. If you honestly believe there is a devil as much as there is a God, then you know Satan will do anything and everything he can to divide the church: accuse, divide, and conquer is his modus operandi.

Hillsong is exactly what it was invisioned to be when I started going. At that point 20 years ago it was around 200, now its 35,000.You have to hand it to there leadership no doubt.Money can corrupt or it can bless. If money IS what they want it will not stand.God is no respector of people. But if there worship is genuine He will bless. Why are they blessed?

@hillsongchurch Brian Houston has himself stated that he does not teach that God wants to make evryone rich, but he does teach that God can and will bring prosperity to His people, if it is His will. That is Biblical. Beginning of Deuteronomy 28 and malachi 3 starting in verse 8....and their are more scriptures

As an outsider who has observed firsthand for over two years, I can say that many of these statements are twisted or from uninformed points of view. Why must we rip into people who are doing good with no strings attached, but applaud others who do it for personal glory? There is no coercion, no strong arming. They are very open with anyone who truly wants to know (not for fuel to tear down). Please find out the facts for yourself before judging based on a few disgruntled people's opinions.

I have been to Hillsong Conference and believe they have one of the best worship/praise bands on Earth but church is more than music and there is a lot of things I dont know about Hillsong so I cant comment...All I can say is perhaps leave the church if you have a problem with it but dont bad mouth Hillsong its not the right thing to do.. perhaps Hillsongs not as good as it claims but there is definetly a lot of good coming out of this church

why critise people or a church that is sowing a seed into thousands of peoples lives. the only seed that will save them. of course persicution will come. it happens to all that believe in anything or nothing at all. but we should not be shooting ourselves in the foot. and if your not a christian then maybe not go to hillsong. go and try out christianity somewhere that you fit.

Discernment is a gift of the Holy Spirit. We are to discern all things against the standard of scripture. I don't care about other religions. I only care about what Christ says: Do not love the world - Cannot have 2 masters: God and money - love one / hate the other. Try preaching the health/wealth lie to poor African Christians - see how far you get.

This is not the body of Christ. This is not even a Church. They exalt man over God, preach health and wealth and not the gospel. If they preached the gospel, only 18 people would turn up every week. The gospel is a hard one to swallow - that we are sinners in the face of a Holy God and only through repentance, faith and trust in Christ can we ever be saved. If you are in this organization, get out now and find a Bible Preaching Church.

i don't think hillsong is bad for telling people they can get what they want. this tanya woman sounds bitter. she tried to sound sensational, but failed. i agree, though, it does sound like amway. i remember the rajneesh driving rolls. tildon was exposed, too. we all know what happened to the bakkers. the supporters should see where their money goes. tildon went back on the air, so i guess people don't care, or they didn't see the special about him. many of those people only watch christian tv.

how dare a church become prosperous. dont the pastors know that it is only acceptable for the non christians to show their prosperity by driving nice cars and living in nice houses? God doesnt actually want christians to show anyone his blessings in their lives. Hed rather us live in pov houses and take the bus everywhere. That is how he wants us to show people his love and goodness and faithfullness. Yep, those pastors are all going straight to hell.

the church has 25 000 members, it started in an apartment building fir about 5 people. The bible does teach about giving to the cause of God, and been committed. Its what the bible says. And that dude who said he went to church and he didn't like the way church was held because we sang 6 songs, well go back to the stone age and try and relate to people today with that mentality. god is a God who endures all ages and keeps up to date with everything.
