  • If my life had a song, it would be this one. I have probably heard it more times then i have any other, My parents are big fans of Gabriel, and this song was their favorite. It has stuck with me ever since, and i always get a powerfull feeling of security and oddly enough "saudade" for my childhood as well. I doubt any song will ever have as much meaning for me as this one.

  • You're talking about a Boris bike. That's how Boris got his ideas for the Barclays things that plague the streets of London......................

  • Great song. A pity they put a fucking great road through Solsbury Hill as a "means of easing traffic congestion". By the way Boris Johnson got his idea of the "Boris bikes" from this concert. It's a fact.

  • He's one of the few musicians that sound as good if not better live...

  • I will NEVER forget climbing up Solsbury Hill in Bath, England; I was late to the high school bus because I was busy looking for Peter!! NOI REGRETS!!

  • Aerobic Rock Music... Peter and band getting a workout.. great song

  • Musical Genius...

  • Everything this man writes, composes and sings it turns into a masterpiece!!

  • Fantastic!!

  • Gabriel is genius, his band is great, his daughter is beautiful, this tune is amazing.....AWESOME VIDEO!!

  • When did this become bike chat?

  • @giguchan In fact, that is one of the best bicycles in the world, it's a Moulton, an english bike that is the equivalent of rolex, rolls royce, cartier, etc of the bicycles.

  • @frootiloopi

Thanks for the reply... I was wondering what kind of bike it was.. and here i thought the Italians good bikes. cheers

  • @gogglesux Indeed you have really good bicycles in Italy I would love to have a steel Colnago. I'm mexican and the oldest bicycle brand we have was founded by the Italian Giacinto Benotto, over 80 years ago, they were really fine bicycles at the past, but now are really cheaply made with two models exceptions. But the Moulton is really set apart as it is a really a clever bicycle desing (the first full suspension bike of the history)

  • @frootiloopi

Hello there.. thanks for the reply. I am in the market for a new road bike. I have narrowed it down between a cannondale or a pinnerello. I think they are both made in china now, unles you want to spend 6k on a bike thats what you are going to get. I have been to the UK a few times yet i have never ridden one. I think the next time i visit there i will.

  • You get these visionaries Peter Gabriel, Bill Nelson, Kate Bush and they are so apart from the normal game of the record business. They have omni-directional minds.

  • Does anyone know what DVD this is from? I need to get it! Fast!

  • Is this a story of a person, taken away by a UFO?

  • Best song by any ex-Genesis member... and there have been a lot of great ones.

  • How funny would it be if he fell off the bike haha

  • the only thing thats missing is the "you can keep my things, they've come to take me home. which is odd actually.

  • Awsome!

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing tune !!! my all time favorite

  • first thumbs down =D

  • tony levin's the coolest. got to meet him over the summer. awesome bass and stick player

  • Where is Solsbury Hill?

  • Somewhere in england mate

  • @dolphinsneu Solsbury Hill is in the south of England. Its best known for Stonehenge.

  • You're thinking of the Salisbury Plain...

  • @dolphinsneu Solsbury Hill is NOT by Stonehenge. Some fool has said it's near Stonehenge. It's near(ish) but is in Bath. It's nothing to do with Salisbury which is a few miles south of Stonehenge.

  • MAGNIFICENT!!!!

  • The rotating stage... such a simple idea - but what an impact!

  • this song just takes me away

  • Coś wspaniałego!!! Jak nie rozumiecie to sprawdźcie w słowniku! Check in Polish-English dictionary.

  • Thank you, nelson2K, for sharing this!!

  • You know, before I read that Peter wrote this as his thoughts on leaving Genesis, I thought the words were of a child learning s/he was being adopted! I still think it fits that scenerio nicely. Lovely song, and I wish I could have been on the front row of this concert!

  • Great song. I'd really love shag that dancer in the black though.. she keeps distracting me!

  • iQué grande! iQué maravilla!

  • h*ll yeah!! :D

  • Gabriel is a pure genius and this is probably his best tune ever!

  • Hammer....

    sweet remember....

  • best part is bassist walking the opposite direction as the stage

  • Lance Armstrong?!?!

  • this song rocks!!! its soooo hard not to sing along to this song.

  • You have to clap or tap or bob your head too; it has an infectious beat :)

  • My first big live concert in 1979 was Peter Gabriel.

It was brilliant and I still love his performance...

Thanks for uploading this great recording!

  • THIS MAN IS F***ING BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • @KoRnMama yeah and he also lip synched this entire show

  • @pandurate your an idiot if you think he lip synched this show...idiot.

  • @pandurate I am an Audio Engineer for 20 years plus and I can say he DID NOT lip sync this song. The one thing Peter never did was sing above his abilities. He never stretched his vocals. Thus he can ALLWAYS perform his songs to an almost perfect pitch and tone. If Taylor Swift and others didnt rely on the studio and auto tune....... they would sound like they do live..... crapy. Ok my rant is over. This is a FANTASTIC version of SH.

  • The days of analog video where the audio is always in perfect sync are over. Even if it came from an analog source, once it's converted (like for Youtube), the sync is compromised. If it's online, it's rarely perfect; get used to it people.

  • Looking at this you can't help but anticipate an accident happening :-p

    Great performance

  • The bicycle thing is brilliant. It just brings out the childlike joy of this song. Did that make anyone else think of that scene from "Finding Forrester" where Sean Connery is outside for the first time in like fifty years, riding a bike and looking like a happy little kid? Great scene, better song.

  • he didnt say "you can keep my things they've come to take me home" :( i like that line, still he sings beautifully and i love the whole bicycle idea :)

  • Other worldly

1 a: of, relating to, or resembling that of a world other than the actual world b: devoted to preparing for a world to come2: devoted to intellectual or imaginative pursuits

  • Strong words, so softly spoken. At this point in his great life, chemically free. Talent.

  • One of the best songs by Peter Gabriel ever! Thanks for putting it up!

  • geil,geil,geil.

  • That was good. It's been a long time since I have heard any Peter Gabriel. Loved it!!!

  • anyone who says that's not a great song has got to be deaf

  • This song always make me so HAPPY :-)

  • me too
