When I was younger (back in the '50's) most people thought $2. bills were bad luck and would get very upset if someone tried to pay with one. One guy absolutely refused to take one from me. When the Sacajawea was put in play, I had a cashier at a grocery call her manager over when I tried to pay for an item with one, all the while asking me "Are you sure this is real?". Bottom line; jacking with people about odd money forms is fun, but can be frustrating.

Listen to Fred Schecter's comments. He knows what he's talking about. Getting $2s, dollar coins, and even half-dollars is not as difficult as you'd think. You just have to have your bank order them, if they're not in stock. It takes about 1 to 2 weeks. Some banks give you problems, but stand your ground. You're a customer and can always take your business elsewhere.

Yes you can. Any bank should be able to order twos. That's where I get all mine from because I spend them for everything. Just speak with the head teller or bank manager about ordering some next time.
