  • what do u mean you people?

  • you should add some honey before you electro-barbecue your saurage.

Nice and fast way to barbecue!!

  • Oh I've been there! Had a few mains shocks myself. Not good. One time I put a plug into a wall socket and when I pulled it out, I just pulled the plastic case off. Trying to get two metal pins out of the socket, without a plug attached, is tough.

On another note, my GCSE Italian exam was about Hamtaro!

  • Kill Hamtaro! Lolkololololol

  • i wanna shake your hand XD

  • lol! a pickle!!!

  • So, how would you describe the flavour of that fake finger?

    Looks lightning-y to me.

  • mackalalalalalal loo

  • bee safe dude!

  • We cooked a burger at University using good old 240V AC mains through two stainless plates. You could cook it to a point, after which, columns of carbon would form and burn white hot and then explode. Oh, the joys of a Cambridge education.

  • now would be a bad time to pick your nose. lmao. you pwn

  • sucks

  • you are sexy

  • what about doing a episode about the dangers of setting fire to a pc

  • lol did u just eat one of the LEDs?

  • umm.... did he just eat the LED in that hot dog????

  • Nope, I took them out first. LED's give me indigestion.

  • i think he was talking about the little white blob thing sticking out of the side of the hotdog just before you popped it in your mouth...kinda looked like a fat nugget or something, grooooose :<

  • It's cheese. Since it's a cheese dog, it has cheese inside. When they get hot, the cheese sometimes pops outta the hot dog.

  • oooh, i didnt know it was a cheesedog, nvm then

  • Interesting, was the sausage you took some bites from really one that had been cooked by current? The reason I ask is that I wonder what effect electrolysis might have on the chemical composition of what you are swallowing, hotdogs and sausage products contain a lot of salts.

I wonder if the hotdogs are rendered toxic by this process as a result of electrolysis, have you considered this? I've not seen the topic mentioned in any of the cooking by electricity videos I've watched.

  • Actually, there used to be small ovens that cooked meat by exactly that method. AC doesn't create electrolysis very well. You'd normally use DC for that. So while some salts might break down through electrolysis, it'd relatively negligible. Hot dogs aren't the greatest conductors anyhow (hence why they cook so readily due to relatively high resistance compared to say...copper).

  • I didn't know about those ovens. On further investigation it turns out that this method of ohmic cooking is actually used in industry! Freshly slaughtered cows are also "electrically stimulated" to improve the meat texture.

The one thing I would say is that electrode material should probably be carefully considered (for long term use.) I saw one youtube example of ohmic cooking where the guy was actually using cadmium plated screws as his electrodes!

  • Interesting stuff! We did some crazy experimentation with a Professor Loonicraz using some kind of shrinking potion she invented. It was amazing! It really worked! Check it out -- 'Mad Science' by Penpolmedia.

  • I do have to ask, why are you actually holding the wires with your bare hand? All it takes is a microscopic fault in the insulation to shock you. It would be wise to use a foot or two of plastic pipe as a wand with the wire at the very end of it. I have a 4KV MOT and that is the setup I use.

  • I'm not holding them in my bare hands. I'm wearing two layers of insulated gloves, with the wires running along the outside of the fingers of the outer gloves. And yes, I know even that has risks (I had some fairly strong tingles while this was being taped), but I hadn't seen someone do this with a 15,000 volt transformer - probably with GOOD reason - so I wanted to see if I could pull it off. Thanks for the concern, tho.

  • I bets ya this dude still lives at home with his mum.

  • and im guessing you do too

  • its not mad or science, just incredibly pointless

  • Aww...isn't ee da cutest lil' troll boy?

  • oooh ahhhh.....electricity cooks food....Im amazed and astounded ! Now you can go and jerk off.

  • Sorry, I actually have a life, as opposed to guys whose only hobby is making inane comments on YouTube videos.

  • i know, its pretty sweet right? i thought it actualy was kinda cool, and if you didnt like it you can "go and jerk off" honestly, if you dont like something why do you watch it????

  • Loved your comment at 2:48 ;)

  • you're kinda like bill nigh(sp lol) of the 21st century

  • funny yet edjucational shit i think i spelt that wrong

    note taken!

  • YOU ARE A WIERDO

  • I'll take that as a compliment, since you seem such a slave to pop culture (evidenced by your favorites and subscriptions), your opinion on the matter is relatively irrelevant. Thanks!

  • wierd in the best of ways :D

  • Splody Hampsters ~hehe~

  • how are you meant to get experience if you cant try it yourself?!?!?!?!?!?

  • I'm not recommending that you try it yourself, because if you don't really know what you're doing, you could get really hurt, or dead. That, and if you decide to try it anyhow in spite of that, I'm not responsible. Take some physics classes, and they deal with all sorts of neat stuff like this.

  • Lemme put it another way. If all my audience tried this stuff, there'd be less people to watch the videos. That's no good, right? :)

  • lol ok

  • stupid and dangerous science to make things floaty so you don't fry like a hot dog

  • Heh. For the record, 'Splodey, not "floaty". But that's okay.

  • LOL did you eat the led at 2 :14?

  • Nah. I took them out. Figure the LED's would give me indigestion.

  • what ever did happen to hamtoro?

  • dautre stupiderie jgage

  • petit troll triste

  • oui mais ton video a pas grand but , salut

  • Quoi que. Merci du commentaire.

  • dde rien , continu tes experience !

  • this was fire?

  • Electrical burns was addressed in the video.

  • *points* I did the pickle one for a science project years ago! Only our voltage probably was as high and there were coat hanger wires taped to electrical wires from an extension cord plugged into a wall...My friend ate the pickle afterwards, he said it tasted like smoke. Me: *smacks forehead*

  • the thing that scared everybody, when I was an electrician was to get into a panel of plug and grab the neutral(white) wire and touch the hot(black) wire as long as they had no load on them it was little more than an annoying tickle and wouldnt hurt at all but if freaks people out big time

  • Well, so much for the (perfectly) good glove ! Hot Dogs are just bad for your health anyways ....Good Stuff !

  • hahah

  • That's why I'm wary about touching the wires of my stuff even.

15kv will most likely arc through an alligator clip if it so chooses

and the corona makes my fingers numb.

  • If people want to learn about high voltage and maybe experiment a little, they should at least know the risk. The caution of which you speak helps ensure that you can continue to do this stuff. Thanks for the comment.

  • indeed.

  • You can make high voltage probe wires by dipping them in plasti dip (tm) or something.

  • did that hotdog taste good?

  • Don't touch this?

  • sweet ....

    fire ... check ....

    high voltage ... check ...

    insanity .... check ...

    safety first .... check? ...

do you need an aprentice ....

    this sounds like fun ...

    mu ha hahaha hahahahha a

  • Don't have the budget to work in a partner. If this makes me money someday, I might take auditions. :p

  • You need a catch phrase like the the blendtec guy. Don't breath this.

  • That's the "Slightly-Mad Science: We do dangerously-stupid experiments and make things 'splodey...so you don't [whatever we just destroyed]". Maybe I'll come up with a better one later. Heh.

  • How 'bout, " don't do this " lol =)

  • I'll keep that one in mind. I certainly say "don't try this at home" often enough. Might need to give it a better twist. I already say "Dangerously-Stupid"...maybe "This is Dangerously-Stupid...don't do this!" :)
