Wow! It's going to take you 10 years to build that thing. You need to lose the hammer and a retrofit squeezer handle to speed it up a bit. What's with all the scratches around the rivet holes? Just curious!
Creating dimples allows for flush rivets to be installed, which results in a smooth skin surface for airflow (vs. universal rivets which have a rounded head that protrudes and disrupts airflow). Smooth airflow over the airfoil means less turbulence and more speed.
