loved the movie the express. i wasn't around during ernie davis, but he kinda reminds me of Cam Newton. I dont know why but lol, both heisman winners. both wanted by alot of teams in the NFL. and both have passion in other areas outside of football.
I was watching The Express ... I cried, so sad:( ...such a talented athlete lost at such an young age ..and after what he went through just because of his skin color ...what an ugly place humans can create ..RIP
#44. best football number in all of history. jim brown, ernie davis, floyd little. the 3 top running backs in college football. R.I.P. Ernie We will love you here n Syracuse forever.
R.I.P. Ernie Davis, i am a huge UM and SU fan and now i feel that i will go to 1 of those colleges. I saw your movie 5 times in one day and i am honored to be a fan. Your # will go down in history and if you would have been here today, you and Jim Brown would've been the best group of running backs to ever play together...
I was actually touched by a very simple sentence in Wikipedia, go figure. The article simply stated a fact that when you think about it is pretty incredible. Basically, in the history of SU football, we have only won 1 Nat'l Championship & 1 Heisman Trophy ... and Ernie Davis was involved in both. That's incredible. All Hail the Elmira Express!
when i grow up and go to college i'm goin to be a good football player just like ernie and never take life for granted.I want to inspire children that they can be what ever they pu their mind to never give up on your dream go for it.
Brutal vi la pelicula con mis hijos y la disfrutamos mucho mi hijo mayor no podia creer las barbaridades que le hicieron a ernie davis, el odio que tenian por la raza negra ( que todavia gente estupida tiene ) entendio mejor lo que significa el racismo y lo que es Tener espiritu de lucha y cambio gracias por el video y la pelicula!!! get over yourself, America may be a better place but the rest of the world is not bloody hell. Your country had the problems not every country and certainly not the world.
What are you talking about? There talking about America not the world. So maybe YOU should get over yourself! And America is ONE of the many countries that had heavy racism back then. Every country has problems but that doesn't mean we caused them, don't blame everything on us! I know the world is'nt better but you can't depend on America on fixing it all by its self we need help doing it. So maybe you should think before you talk cause you made NO sense.
Racism has existed almost as long as mankind, smart guy! As a matter of fact, many countries have FAR more severe, and long-standing, racial problems then the United States. Most, AT LEAST, have far more harsh socioeconomic problems regarding class, religion and gender...we just commit more crimes and our government/IMPROVING foreign policy can fight their own battle...so maybe next time, how about sounding like you actually deserve an opinion?
very good point.. but by helping america become a better place, that in turn, makes the world a better place.. just think if all that is wrong with america is fixed - how much better the whole world would be
thank you for posting this, i've just watched The Express movie, and as i'm not into football it was my first time to know about Ernie Davis and i was inspired by this great athlete.
