  • backstreets back, alright

  • its a fraud

its imposible to create 3D images without a reference plane (or point)

  • What's the point of it?

  • Impressive!

  • very cool but if you see the full-brightned screen on a dark room you will fuck your eyes :)!

  • wtf !! i love apple

  • Oh my. You can even export with the advanced version!

    Dead brill, ma creepy man.

  • Can't wait for the android version of this app.... *hint hint*

  • Mr. Schindler - fantastic app. (Great tune accompanying the vid. too, btw). I've blown a good hour being lost in this thing...loving the idea of this paired with some fast "augmented reality" for completely real-world immersive gaming. Thanks for creating some magic!

  • It has a great marketing potential... Truly amazing. Congratulations Grant!!

  • урод

  • That is blummin brilliant! You've been tweeted by Derren Brown, I hope this gets you more downloads, you deserve it!

  • Is there a version for Windows PC??

  • Hey - The app also lets you email the 3D model capture to Shapeways(dot)com for 3D printer fabrication!!! What a cool way to prototype stuff like toys and gadgets! Have iPhone4 - can 3D!!

  • I CAN'T TURN OFF YOUTUBE 3D!!! arrrrg

  • is this for android too?

  • @herogna It should be, but no.

  • that's cool, although i cant think anything practical out of that. how many downloads have u gotten?

  • Can`t use it for my iPhone 3GS? :(

  • @IWannaSeeUrPeacock Is it? Tell me that's *not* something countless guys are going to use this technology for.

  • This is REALLY really neat! Great work devs, keep it up!

  • 3D scanned penises in 5... 4... 3...

  • @captaindecoy TROLOOLOLOL

  • it would be good if you could save each scan as a batch of pictures to your camera roll, so users could display the scans on websites as animated GIFs. it is possible to do it at the moment with this app (saving the same scan multiple times to get different angles), but it's a bit random. anyway, cool app!

  • You did a great job on this app man I wrote a review and gave it 5 stars keep up the good work and enjoy my $.99 you earned it lol

  • The guy in the video is really creepy ..

  • @ipepe212 Hey thanks, that's me -- your friendly, creepy iPhone developer.

  • @SchindlerG LOLZ

  • @SchindlerG i dont think you look creepy, i think you look like the lead singer of System of a down!!

  • @SchindlerG, if you are creepy you're one hell of a smart-creepy guy! :]

Great work / innovation!!! I love it!

  • @ipepe212 I think the guy in the video is super sexy.

  • @ipepe212

    and ugly

  • don't overdo it starting to the light to not harm your eyes or get dizzy (should possibly have warning for kids in case it can cause epileptic-like seisures as do strobe lights to some persons)

  • just for free, i dont pay to play 5min...

  • Didn't know the 3G(s) had a front camera. Or you must have modded your own 3G(s) and used it in this promo film.

  • @galip91 Good eye :) I used my iPhone 4 to do the filming so had to use my wife's iPhone 3GS as the prop (displaying the real screen illumination patterns used for scanning, of course.)

  • @SchindlerG haha thought so :) tnx for the explanation ;)

  • Can this be used with the 3Gs rear-facing camera with an external light source?

  • @avoutthere Because multiple specific light patterns need to be displayed rapidly on screen, there's really no practical way to make this method work without a front-facing camera.

  • @SchindlerG couldn't you use a mirror device or something (two mirrors in 45 degrees opposite angles each [o]---/ and above it have ---\ where [o] is the phone, --- the light and \ and / the mirrors

  • Where's the Android version?

  • @philnolan3d

no android version will be released.

go and get a iPhone :D

  • @2StrokeRacing I have an iphone. It sucked so I ditched it and got a Droid X.

  • @philnolan3d

    haha, self owned.

  • @2StrokeRacing That comment doesn't make sense. I ditched my old phone for a better one that runs a more popular OS, how is that "self owned"?

  • @philnolan3d

"I ditched my old phone for a better one that runs a more popular OS"

Haha, this comment is self owned :D

However, you can't use this app. LOL

  • @2StrokeRacing Not much point to the app anyway if you can't export. Apple won't allow that but it would be perfectly fine on Android.

  • @philnolan3d Hi Phil, 3D model exporting is a feature I'm working on right now. I'm not sure what gives you the impression that Apple would have any influence on such a feature. I also hope to produce an Android version in the future -- it's just that I own an iPhone myself, so that's what I program for right now. Also, you're correct that my plan was to first produce an interesting toy and then turn it into a potentially useful tool.

  • @SchindlerG My apologies if I am wrong, but I've never seen another iphone app be able to export unless it was somehow attaching it to an email that you send yourself or something. I have another 3D related iphone app that would be awesome if it had export but I'm pretty sure the author said it wasn't possible. Anyway I've used similar apps on PC. Good luck with yours.

  • @philnolan3d could export via a website - that is let you upload the file online somewhere and get it back from there

  • @philnolan3d Finally, iOS devices have almost DOUBLE the software titles and it seams that it's going to stay that way for a long time. So, while you own an android, get used to begging iOS developers to release it on your platform… Now, RUN BACK and use your droid so daddy-Goo can mine your personal info/ habits and earn some ad-revenues from your droid software…

  • @philnolan3d "a better one that runs a more popular OS, how is that "self owned"?" err, iOS is several times more popular the android...might want to check your facts mate

  • @jawbrokeny Maybe you should check yours. The Wall Street Journal reported more than 50% of users owned an Android phone based on a survey by comScore. I can't post a link but you can find it easily by searching WSJ for "comscore eclipse" (no quotes)

  • @philnolan3d lol are you just completely retarded and dumb as hell or what? for one, it was 26% vs 25% with no included margin of error. further, other countries exist that aren't your backwards-ass redneck land of shit (amerikkka)

  • @philnolan3d if you wanted a phone that didn't suck then why did you get a droid x...weird

  • does this works with ipod 4th gen?

  • @udonthavetoknowwho Yes, since the 4th generation iPod Touch has a front-facing camera, it will work!

  • Add an export option and this app will be incredibly useful.

  • Nice.
