Ironicly our planet is ever so slightly too cold for life but because of a few characteristics is situated. The Earth will eventually recover but yes this is a problem that people msut educate themselves on. Needless destruction of the environment is not how technology advances. Imagine what must be happening on another civilised world. There is a way to work with the enironment and have a mutual advancement.
we must learn and pass on chemistry, mathematics, engineering... to save our future. Technology is the only thing that could "bail us out" of our present situation. Like Sagan says, we are not yet able to re-engineer other planets.
he would be dusgusted with us humans if he were still here things have only gotten worse, oil spills are killing our oceans and pollution is killing our air, what really matters here? OUR WORLD not our pockets, we are born with nothing and die with nothing, we totally abuse the earths gift of life. we need more good men like him leading the charge, but the good ones are silenced not praised these days..
Religion fails us in its poor interpretation of ancient stories, parables and myths. What we really need is a Hubble-caliber lens to pick out fact from fiction in the old testaments of the world.
prepare people, the greenhouse effect is happening on earth. people are calling global warming a hoax i don't know why, and people are saying very bad things about al gore, i don't know why, possibly because of the lack of intelligence....
prepare for another crisis and a difficult future..... if anything could be done now, it would be to kill all the poeple that call global warming a hoax, to win the war of whether it is a hoax or not, to beat the ignorant people, without that....
"Our generation must choose. Which do we value more? Short term profits or the long term habitability of our own planetary home?"... touching ha! makes you wonder. Sagan was simply the best
@alantaitz That kind of ground breaking insight and not even 10k views on this video so far, am I the only person here struggling to find hope in humanity?
I do like the updates added to the show though...I first watched the series when it came out in the late 70's...That was before the burning of the oil fields of Kuwait in Desert Storm and the wreck of the Exxon Valdez and ofcourse...Cheynoble...Yet all have been added into the footage. Kudos for the slight redo of this classic miniseries prior to carl's death.
I totally agree that people ( not all of them ) have done tremendous harm to the planet and that we need to do all we can to prevent and reverse any further damage.

While I was watching this, as the tornado sequence played, I had a Google add "The ultimate holiday away" at the bottom!

Going to war over religion is basically killing each other over who has the best imaginary friend

Stupid..stupid religion is holding us back..and will probably destroy us......unless
we genetically alter ourselves to be more intelligent...remove religion.....and travel to the stars.
IT"S SO OBVIOUS!
Default humans with their lack of intellect, and acceptance of reality are the most frightening thing that there is.

Our world should unite together and save the future. We should have a much broader cosmotic view.
