  • 21 faggot pantera and alice in chain fans watched this video.

  • @LameStaley I'm a fan of both plus I like this. Your comment is invalid. GTFO

  • Back when metal was METAL!!! This album is one of the numerous high-caliber metal classics from the fabled year of 1986...To mention some of the thrash metal releases from that time: Master Of Puppets, Reign In Blood, Pleasure To Kill, Obsessed By Cruelty, Eternal Devastation, Possessed By Fire, Peace Sells...

  • @Sabbathman1979 don't forget pleasure to kill

  • @wyliehj if you wanna see a unique band, then Chelsea maudlin of the well. Sorry, but generic lyrics, shitty instrumental talent, and masks does not make them unique

  • Dare to compare Slipknot with Dark Angel? On top of that Slipknot is better? And they call themselves metalheads? If you claim to be, they're posers.

  • CATERVA!

  • Still one of the best thrash albums by a mile. Too bad none of their other albums were as strong.

  • it seems to me everybody has an opinion well heres mine who fuckn cares whos better who sold out ect ect how bout you all just fuckn enjoy the music hell i remember when this album came out in high school good then good now

  • <3 blessed is the day i discovered this band :)

  • Is it me, or is there always a ringing sound in the background throughout the whole album.

  • Slipknot blows, all these "new" bands are weak, and don't hold a candle to greats like Dark Angel.

  • Don't get me wrong, I love the way this sounds, but doesn't anyone else think it's strange that specifically in 1986 we get Darkness Descends, Reign in Blood, and Pleasure to Kill all in october/november. I mean, were these guys chilling together during the recording sessions? Did each band have people spying on the other bands stealing there sounds... or did it just happen by chance like convergent evolution.

  • keep real metal alive guys and stop arguing over bands that have nothing to do with metal like Slipknot! and stop hating on influential bands just because they may be mainstream X(

  • @bellametalbabe

Slipknot suck because they're musically shallow and immature, not because they're mainstream.

  • @gubbbies I agree with you but they have nothing to do with metal :p

  • @gubbbies Why are top comments about some bands that aren't very good anyway? I won't say the band, because I never liked it, and don't understand why it would be talked about in reference to Dark Angel.

  • @gubbbies Err, Slipknot are pretty talented. Listen to their drum solos. Hogland and company are talented as well. That's why Hogland was indoctrinated into Death and Fear Factory. Stop hating just to hate. It's the sign of a loser. There are so many great bands out there. From thrash to grindcore, classical to baroque, I love them all.

  • @gubbbies Or not rofl!

  • @gubbbies u obviousley do NOT know slipknot very well dick face

  • É uma grande banda...

  • this band is the shit, but whoever thinks they're better than Slayer obviously has never heard of an album called Hell Awaits.

  • @PurpatratorThrash I agree xD but Dark Angel is awesome too \m/

  • Dododododoodoodooodooodooodoo Dododododoodoodooodooodooodoo dododooo

    Fucking love the intro!

  • cant we all agree that Thrash is awsome and stop fighting over Slayer and Dark Angel

  • Agreed. Let's just listen to Dark Angel.

  • This song would probably be the best pit song ever, just because it keeps kicking your ass then it rips off your head and shits down your neck

  • perfect opening riff

  • A truly Killer Metal Upload

  • I listen to a lot of thrash, and I love the majority of it. But this album is an utter low point, it embodies everything that can go wrong with thrash, it’s actually the perfect example of how NOT to do thrash metal.

  • @Ephiros12 What is wrong with you?? see a doctor at once!

  • SLIPKNOT SUCKS SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

  • @Cyatic9 I'd say Top 20. I think we all know what #1 is.

  • all hail gene hoglan

  • speed does not mean talent .Composition and if it soun ds good

  • @jn6verse51 For some genres, speed does make the music better, and with thrash metal that is definitely the case. But now take Doom Metal for example, playing fast doesn't make doom metal better, you have to play that music slow. It has to fit the music, and with thrash it definitely fits!

  • Slayer was jealous of Dark Angel, and it was right of them to be so. DFA kick ass!

  • first time ever listening to dark angel. ANd i must say im digging this.

  • Amazing album. Defined the term Thrash Metal with Slayer's monumental Reign In Blood!

  • @thegerou Reign In Blood isn't really their best album. Their Darkest for sure is Diablous In Musica.

  • Epic shit

  • yeah anyone that bashs slayer can go suck a fat cock like the faggots that yeah are! slayer rules!

  • Classick Thrash titans gone but never forgotten DARK ANGEL hails \m/

  • I so like that song but I can't get used to the vocals... I prefer Time Does Not Heal vocals

  • really? someone chose to watch this and then didn't like the song? how much better can thrash get than this? this is awesome!

  • Shut the fuck up and enjoy great thrashing heavy fucking metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Record, Great Track, Great Thrash-Band.

  • I saw these guys with Dr. Know in Long Beach and then @ The Country Club in Reseda CA. (both time on this tour if i'm not mistaken)

  • HOOOOOLY SHIT... WHAT A FUCKIN FIND... LOVE UTUTBE!!!

  • @bargeraltamont WELCOME TO HELLL! !

  • THRASH

    TILL

    DEATH

  • ContinuedShark Exhorder fucking rules.

  • God is like the sound of one pedal

  • slayer would still kill any of these bands and is still one of the founders of thrash metal if you disagree go f*ck your selves

  • i like slipknot but they are geared for teens course this album was geared for me in my teens!

  • Fucking awesome. \m/ THRAASHHHH

  • this song is PURE METAL and people are bashing Slayer and saying Slipknot is better than Dark Angel? What is the world coming to...

  • @Dethtothenations

    Slipknot is good...

  • @wyliehj No they aren't.

  • @Bassbait

so ur one of those people who think they arent metal?

  • @wyliehj They are metal, but just bad at metal.

  • @wyliehj Slipknot sucks the chrome off a trailer hitch.

  • @karlmoles65

wtf? Slipknot is awsome they just get all this shit because there unique and dont do the exact same thing every other mnetal band does... they wear masks and have different instaruments

  • @wyliehj You must be about 13

  • @karlmoles65

lol i am 13! But if u think only 13 year olds listen to SLipknot then ur a stupid bitch. Just sayin

  • @wyliehj Quote "lol, I am 13" Unquote. Ladies and gentlemen, the prosecution rests.

  • @karlmoles65

How does my age have anything to do with it? well im done arguig but before i go.... Slipknot has more fans than dark angel!

  • @wyliehj The fans don't matter, and neither does the popularity.

  • @wyliehj and you've sucked your step dad's dick more times than a dark angel fan has been beaten up for not being a faggot

  • @AmongTheKreating

whatever lol :D i have no step dad

  • @wyliehj are you kiding me wow first off slipknot a fuckin gay mainstream band and if your a metal head then your hella stupid but listen up i saw a comment bellow so you a 13 yr old at that age ill admit i listened to slipknot sometimes but trust me start listening to this stuff and by age 15 (me) u'll be alot better and then be like damn i was hella gay back then>.> but yeah even if slipknot has more 13yr old fan girls DARK ANGEL WILL ALWAYS HAVE MORE REAL METALHEADS ON THERE SIDE!!!! \m/

  • @ScreammBloodyGore666

Dude i really love this to. it just pisses me off that slipknotg tes way to much shit cuze there different. You say theer mainstream but they are way different than most metal bands.

  • @ScreammBloodyGore666 dude, you listen to Cradle of Filth..lol but anyway, you listen to 'Death' so you are ok! Death is my favorite bands, and scream bloody gore is one of my favorite albums..R.I.P Chuck Schuldiner

  • @Helvetorment fuck u lol...... yeah i only like there first 2 albums or so but yeah i mainly listen to Death and other thrash bands so yeah!!! and very true chuck was a genious and truely most insparational guitarist/vocalist too me!!!!!

  • @wyliehj slipknot is shit...

  • @FCChelsea2010

Slipknot gets way to much Shit Just because there unique! Isnt there anyone besides me whol ikes them? at least you guys dont say there not metal, i hate it when people say that, those people are retards...

  • @Dethtothenations delete your comment. This is about Dark Angel not Slayer or Slipknot.

  • @sarupaul1 pussy.

  • @Dethtothenations Wait a friend: it is true that Slipknot sucks gay and that all metalheads hate this crap, but it's another Slayer undeniable truth that is infinitely better than this band.

  • @Elreggaeesdeputo that didn't really make enough sense for me to be sure but I'm thinking you are saying Slayer is better than Dark Angel, which is your opinion but really dude there's no reason to be fighting over it, just listen to some goodass thrash metal, wherever you can find it!

  • @Dethtothenations Slayer aren't that great either.

  • @SPLCHRLCRNG Their early albums are. There is a reason why they were so influential and loved by many xD

  • @bellametalbabe Of course. First 3 albums are essential. Overall, they're quite shit though. It all got lame after Reign in Blood.

  • @SPLCHRLCRNG I disagree everything up until 1990 is all good! RIFFS! xD and I do enjoy listening Dark Angel's slower albums too! Liking one and not the others is stupid unless they are complete crap d:

Bad albums don't dismiss a band entirely I can't think of many bands who don't have crappy albums and who cares! but I'm done arguing about this though, internet metal drama is so ridiculous and

by looking at your page I can tell that youre a kult tough guy so I won't even try arguing with you

  • @bellametalbabe Far from a "kult tough guy", matter of fact I fucking hate being called that, I just enjoy good metal. And how is it complete crap to like one album by a band (or Slayer's case, 3)? It just shows you don't have time to tolerate mediocre shit, and that all started with South Of Heaven.

"I won't even try arguing with you" Maybe you shouldn't reply to comments to begin with. But this is the wrong place to argue about Slayer when it is a video for a band so much better than them.

  • @bellametalbabe Woe is the day having a sufficient knowledge of Metal and moderately good taste makes you a "kult tough guy".

  • @Dethtothenations people will bash on anything popular :p I find it stupid

  • @bellametalbabe I find that some "hardcore" thrash metal fans will believe that if a band is the slightest bit commercial, they're terrible. People fail to realize that there might be some connection between being talented and being successful, and believe the only way to be successful or well known is to create very tame/commercially friendly music. People in general are fucking retards these days, especially on youtube lol.

  • @Dethtothenations doesn't that make them hipsters!! lol xp

    I can't stand metalheads ><

  • @bellametalbabe so many metalheads probably think "I have overcome the chains of justin bieber and pop music... my opinion is POWER!" That's how I see it anyways, a lot of them are really just rude elitists. too bad because metal music is fucking awesome. Nobody can be positive about anything when it comes to metal, everything has to be compared all the time. which is odd.

  • @Dethtothenations Slayer is far from talented. The last time Kerry King made a good solo was in Show No Mercy, and that was the last time Tom's voice was good, too!

If popularity was TRULY connected to being talented, Megadeth would be the only one in the Big 4 that would actually be anywhere near Big 4-level. Instead, the Big 4 would be something like (if choosing Thrash internationally) Megadeth, Voivod, Coroner, and Sabbat. Even then, Megadeth's barely there by a thread.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow solo skill means nothing. for me it's rhythm skill.(i'm a primarly a rhythm player) i'd like like to know your opinion about rhythm guitar players. Lazy or underrated talent?

  • @VictimRattlehead lazy. a lot of lead guitarists can write really sick riffs/whole songs. and are more obsessive over having it all nice and polished than a gay who just writes some riffs. lead guitarists can play rythm, but rhythm guitarists cant play leads. lead guitarists do more and they do it better. why? cus thye practiced way more. you dont need to be that good to write some thrash metal songs its an easy genre. by the way, Dark Angel is my fucking shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @Dethtothenations If you can't handle the "elitism" (which, as always, is the incorrect word), get the fuck out. Simple. It's been like this since Metal began. Keep it good, keep it true. We're arrogant assholes and we hate shitty music. Always have, always will, no matter what moronic mainstream "Metalheads" try to think. Metal is as anti-mainstream as Punk, and about as popular. There's 9 bands, tops, that can safely say they're popular, and over 70, 000 recorded Metal bands. Do the math.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow You sir, have provided some retarded ass arguments. Technique isn't all that dictates talent. If you don't think Kerry King can play "good solos", go jerk off to Yngwie Malmsteen.

As far as your elitism goes, I find it funny when someone discovers a band like Coroner and immidiately assumes, whoa, I've gone outside the barriers of Metallica and Slayer... I must know EVERYTHING!

And if you think there's only 9 popular metal bands, you are downright oblivious/moronic.

  • @Dethtothenations But that's the thing. I don't have to jump directly from Kerry King to Yngwie Malmsteen to find a good guitar player, because ALL Kerry King does is randomly and chaoticly hit notes and gets over-hyped by every wannabe Metal fan. Hanneman was always the genius behind anything good relating to the guitar in Slayer, anyway. Not to mention King's a damn poser.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow I disagree, but I suppose it is rather pointless to argue over something as subjective as enjoyment from guitar playing. I do think there is a lot of good things in KK's playing.

Also your 9 bands are 8, Motorhead isn't metal.

And honestly, by calling Kerry King a poser, you have shown your place as one of the thrash metal fans whose opinions should be almost 100% disregarded. YT is a great place for close minded fucks to gather, I've dealt with these assholes before.

  • @Dethtothenations i agree. sorry for coming in this conversation but i agree that kerry is a great player. so what? if he hits random notes. it fits. also, has i have noted before for me it's rhythm skill or nothing(rhythm player kinda like hetfield and scott ian). i would like to know if you think kk is a good rhythm player(imo it's a very big yes) and if rhythm players like scott ian, hetfield or eric peterson are lazy or it's a talent very underrated?

  • @VictimRattlehead The thing I like about his soloing style, call it random if you want, but it works so well with the vibe of the music especially on Reign in Blood. And I don't think rhythm players are lazy at all, in fact a lot of times rhythm makes the music a lot better. Listen to Night of the Stormrider by Iced Earth. The rhythm on that whole album is fucking crazy and it's so effective.

And yes, I think KK is actually a very good rhythm player. Damn typing the word rhythm is annoying.

  • @Dethtothenations thanks for your opinion man. i'm a rhythm player and i care more if the rhythm is really hard or sounds as heavy as shit but i dont care as much if the solo is 1 minute long. that's why i love the solo on to live is to die from hetfield. it's really simple and shit but it's melodic and it fits with the song mood. the same with kk and hanneman. their solos are chaotic making the song even more eviler(is this how you spell it?).

  • @Dethtothenations There is only one KK, and it is not King.

Motorhead is Metal lol. They can call themselves Rock 'n' Roll, but they are far more inclined to Speed Metal in more of their songs than just plain Rock.

The guy who takes Slipknot over Celtic Frost? I realize the guy has been making music for 15-year olds since they started Nu-Metal with Diabolus in Musicia, but he doesn't have to act like one of them. He's either a poser, or just another big-named moron who's lost touch with Metal.

  • @Dethtothenations The only thing I've closed my mind to is bad music.

You know where arrogant assholes like me ACTUALLY meet? At shows, Metal shows, trying to keep real Metal alive while every other poser is off loving Metal Hammer-approved crap, or too busy worshipping overrated has-beens that haven't made a single good album in over 15 years. You should consider yourself lucky that I actually accept Slayer's earlier albums, some don't even recognize more than Show No Mercy (best album, though)

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Again falling back on the word poser/"real metal" arguments... Typical.

And why would I consider myself lucky that YOU like Slayer's first albums? Why in the hell would give a shit about the opinion of some random ass like you? Do you think the opinions of everyone should be affected by and revolve around your personal taste?

PS. Thinking that Reign in Blood is a good album in no way implies I like last 15 or so years Slayer.

Ah, and of course, "real metal".

  • @Dethtothenations Yes, poser/"real metal" arguments. Two things that have existed and been part of Metal since the beginning. Terribly sorry for trying to keep true Metal and everything related to it alive. I only love the genre, after all.

PS. Where did I say that? I never said anything bad about Reign in Blood, and I never related liking it to liking nu-Slayer.

Opinions don't govern music. It's taste, which can be good or bad, the quality of someone's taste is not subjective, either.

  • @Dethtothenations Yes, poser/"real metal" arguments. Two things that have existed and been part of Metal since the beginning. Terribly sorry for trying to keep true Metal and everything related to it alive. I only love the genre, after all.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow You did say that I'm lucky you even regarded Show No Mercy as a good album, so I assumed you meant you thought it was their only good album.

Also, what governs music is decided by the listener, IMO. I guess you could disagree but when it comes to music, I treat mine as the only opinion that matters, hopefully you can understand the reasoning behind that.

P.S. I love the genre of metal too, but calling other metalheads posers doesn't make sense to me.

  • @Dethtothenations "I love the genre of metal too, but calling other metalheads posers doesn't make sense to me."

Then you don't really love Metal. That whole calling posers out thing is as much a part of Metal as the music is, or the long hair, or the denim/leather look. Shit's been like that since the first metalhead pointed out that Disco was just some stupid fad that sucked.

Metal's like Punk, it's not JUST about the music.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow DIMEBAG Rules So Ill End it all now

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow You motherfucker! 2 years ago I remember that you were calling Pantera (aside from the glam era) trash, when I had first signed up for youtube. Ever since then I've come across a few videos here and there seeing immense amounts of comments going your way, because you troll just every thrash band that doesn't have its "technicality" acclaim. Fuck you, you have no taste! Stupid poser, you just troll whatever band is considered mainstream or simplistic. What's that? It's a POSER

  • @AIC2374 I'm not trolling this band, I only troll bands that suck. That includes Pantera and the Slayer that's been around for the last 15 years.

Also: Idiots who fail to realize Kerry King is no good. Even a die-hard Slayer fan should be able to realize that.. It's like how Kirk Hammett is boring, utterly predictable and only praised because he's in Metallica, not because he's any good.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Ok, I do agree that Kerry sucks maybe at leads and soloing, but he's made incredible (sometimes stupid, sometime genius) riffs in his prime. And I do agree, Slayer has sucked for the last 15 years, but no way throughout the 9 circles of HELL did Pantera suck. Phil during the CFH period was an immense vocalist, on that album he had INSANE range, yet could still pull off the aggresive style. Dime had killer riffs and feel in soloing, and Vinny and Rex were a real tight B/D duo

  • @AIC2374 Intense Dime was?

Yeah, shittastic riffs and mindless shred wank for solos is SO intense.

Pantera's debut to Power Metal were the only good things they ever made. Their style of Groove Metal was fucking horrible, and they're responsible for every piece of shit wannabe Metal genre that's come about since the late 90's. They're horrendous crap for posers and try hard tuff guys/red necks. Those who can't do, play Pantera-style Groove Metal. Those who can't do that, are Pantera fans.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow ARE YOU FUCKING DUMB?! LOL! Shred wank solos?! He had the most feel of any guitarrist in that fucking era! Cemetary Gates, Message In Blood? And for Gods' sake, havn't you ever heard The Sleep? That solo is incredible. But noooo sir, you're to stupid to even listen to a band before calling them bad.

And since when the fuck does a band being copied make them bad? If you want to talk about technical proficiency, do you even know how many bands copy Dream Theater?

  • @AIC2374

Pantera and Dimebag are both extremely overrated.

  • @MetaI4Brains Hmm.. why exacly do you think that...

  • @AIC2374

Because they were. Dimebag gets tons of hype because he died, and most of their fans are wannabe tough guys and kids who only know the song "Walk."

  • @MetaI4Brains Wow, you made possibly the stupidest comeback I've ever heard.

Hype when he died? That's hilarious... actually not really, it's scary the level of idiocy some people bring here. Pantera was a fucking billboard charting band during the mid 90's you moron, they were monumental all along. On a side-note, that doesn't mean they were sell-outs. Just want to say in advance, don't give me that shit

Walk is a shit song by the way, but its purpose was to target young teen listeners

  • @AIC2374

    You can hear YouTube comments?

Yes, he did get tons of hype from his death, all dead musicians do. People are too scared to say anything even remotely negative about them because they think they're disrespecting the dead.

It doesn't mean Pantera is good just because they were at the top of the charts, plenty of terrible bands have had a #1 album.

Also, lay off the insults. You come across as an angry little kids when you start that.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow You're downright an idiot if you think just because a band is copied, they're bad. From this I can tell you are both A. a hipster and B. a poser. If a band is copied, that makes tem even better, because NO ONE has pulled off what Pantera could, even to this day. Obviously they're superior. Sure you get a band like At the Gates and they were great, but they are still pretty easily copied (Soilwork ^, Eucharist, etc).

If you think Dime is a shred wanker you need to do research

  • @AIC2374 At the Gates and Eucharist don't sound alike at all. While A Velvet Creation was one of the finest melodic death metal releases, ever, At the Gates had an amazing debut album, which was more technical death metal, mixed with melodic elements. Vocals didn't sound alike, riffing didn't sound alike, songwriting was different, and Soilworks first albums did sound like Slaughter of the Soul, but who cares for that album? It's about The Red in the Sky is Ours!

  • @EverxOpeningxFlower Lol, are you stupid? First of all let me just say that Eucharist and At the Gates were literally from the same town at the same time (Certain members of Eucharist also played with In Flames who in their earlier years ALSO sounded like ATG), there's no way they didn't have an influence on eachother. Second, I don't really know how to argue this but their vocals sound almost exactly the same! WHAT ARE YOU ON?! Third, they both basically used natural minor so riffs are similar

  • @AIC2374 No, I'm not stupid at all, not saying you are, let's just keep it at that you're not so smart. All your points say all sorts of cute stuff, like 2 members where brothers, they where from the same town etc. Nice story, on to the music shall we? Vocals from Eucharist where the typical (although they where the first to use it) higher then regular death metal, melodic death metal vocals, while At the Gates used a more tortured sounding vocals.

  • @EverxOpeningxFlower Okay, for ATG's vocals you're completely oblivious to anything after the Red Sky is Ours or Gardens of Grief because you say that Eucharist uses the higher, more of screaming vocals. Well, anything from With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness up to SOTS is EXACTLY like that. As far as In Flames sounding like ATG, I may agree that most of their work does not relate, but Suberranean certainly does.

  • @AIC2374 I told you plenty of times that I was talking about The Red in the Sky is Ours, their best album by far. And once again, no, Subterranean does not sound like The Red in the Sky is Ours, nor does it sound like With Fear or Gardens of Grief.

Also, why did you only counter the vocal part? I'm very interested in how you where going to compare the riff and songwriting approach from both bands. Ofcourse I'm only talking about The Red in the Sky is Ours and A Velvet Creation, their best work.

  • @EverxOpeningxFlower You see, there is is again! "I'm only talking about The Red Sky is Ours and A Velvet Creation." THAT'S BEING OBLIVIOUS TO THE OTHERS. Of course a Velvet Creation and Red Sky is Ours don't sound alike, but Mirrorworlds And Slaughter of the Soul do, or Terminal Spirit Disease and Mirrorworlds or Velvet Creation. ATG had a stylistic change at one point.

I guess maybe rhythmical riffs are actually technical, but that's still a similarity between them so not proving anything..

  • @AIC2374 Continue: The riffs from ATG where alot more technical and stranger, while Eucharist had a more classical approach. And please, early In Flames didn't sound like early AtG at all, it was folky (I'm talking about Lunar Strain), straightforward and used again, the more Eucharist "typical melodic death metal" kind of vocals. It was alot LESS technical, and the lyrics where totally different. If you think THAT sounded alike, you should get your ears tested.

  • @EverxOpeningxFlower Continued: As much as I love them, At the Gates' riffs weren't technical, I think you have your definition of technical mixed with rhythmical. A lot of ATG songs would have the 4/4 counted in triplets with 8th notes' rests, hitting on 1, the and of 1, 2, the e of 2, the and of 2, 3, the and of 3, 4, the e of 4, and the and of 4, or just a triplet leading into a whole note ona powerchord. Hopefully you're actually a musician to make your argument lol.
