  • I'm going to be annoying and ask why you felt the need to put an ENGLISH title on a GERMAN video!!

  • It's okay, all you ignorant Americans. Daniel speaks many languages, therefore he knew perfectly well what he was saying.

As for you who demand it in English, CLICK ON ANOTHER FREAKING LINK rather than demanding the entire world be as you are. God, how easy is that, huh?

  • @kamwrites If you show a German dubbed stargate why not make the Youtube Titel german MAKES SENCE doesn't it ?

  • @dutchbet Learn to spell.

  • @kamwrites Movies, series, whatever it is you're watching... should ALWAYS, ALWAYS be in the original language. No exceptions whatsoever.

  • @CouldItBeHate Very restrictive, IMO. But if it rocks your boat, go for it. Live in your corner.

  • @kamwrites How exactly is that restrictive...?

  • I'm quite surprised

I watched all SG in original (didn't even care to add sub' in my own language)

and this little fragment in German dub' sounded really good

most of dubbing - whatever language they use - I find irritating and out of character, and of course - not mentioning changes in dialogs..

they did really good job on this one - this scene for sure, can't say about other parts XD as I'll most probably never watch them in non-original version

  • holy shit i had no idea walter from fringe was in sg1, that took me by surprise

  • we do have english in school nationwide. but a few years of english lessons is not enough to understand spoken english well enough to watch tv. also, it's tiring to concentrate and listen to a foreign language all the time. when people come home from work, they might just want to relax a little. plus, when you grow up with dubbed television, it's really not a big deal.

being able to choose would be nice though...

and i agree: english title for german video, what the hell?

  • I so don't understand why this was under my recommendations!

  • EU should pay Germany for a nation-wide english lessons.

  • German and Russian, in an American - Canadian Tv Show... :/

  • I don't understand you Germans, why give a GERMAN spoken video an ENGLISH title, thats ridiculous and darn annoying

  • @brambodenbraber we like to troll

  • @dieschlafendegefahr ah ok, no problem than :)

  • @SpoofTrailers It sure does, well spotted. Kree!

  • @SpoofTrailers Well, he said "Damn, my timing today is groundbreaking (=horrible)" :P

  • Holy shit! It's John Noble!

  • @Metrukuta

Thank you captain obvious ^_^...yes I too thought I was watching Fringe for the first two seconds of this vid as well...THEN!!! I realized not only did he appear in Camelot (which I think i'm going to go watch now) I indeed was searching for Stargate videos :P

  • @SirezX

    Hey, that's ADMIRAL obvious! =P

  • @Metrukuta

    Fair enough...lol

  • "THERE IS NO MAGIC!" *poofs into space* "Man, my timing is total shit...!"

  • I usually don't like live action dubs because if the audio and video are out of sync it bugs me, I have to watch asian dramas with subs ( i don't even know if there are dubs versions) and I personally really like watching stuff in the original language, whatever it is but I can respect that a lot of people prefer dubs over subs and some voice actors that dub are really good :D I also like watching shows that i love dubed in a different language lol

  • He says 'That wasn't magic, its just a machine, but more complicated, theres no magic' And then they mysteriously beam up.

  • uhh, okay, how about in english. after all, THIS IS AMERICA, NOT GERMANY!!!!! SONOFABITCH. i like german as a language, but for those of whom are linguistically challenged, SPEAK IN ENGLISH

  • @crypt41 Yees... you may be in "America" and here's a newsflash for you: America = not the entire world! This version was clearly shown in Germany and they have a tradition of dubbing shows rather than using subtitles. As much as you'd apparently like to dub all non-English speakers as "linguistically challenged", it's bullshit. No "Only English" stamp on YouTube. US is not the centre of the world and English is just one of many languages on our planet. Get it in your thick head and get over it.

  • Daniel sounds younger in german... and he sounds always bored in the french canadian version you probably won't find anyway XD

  • what's the point in having a English title but the actual clip is dubbed -_-

  • Learn english you german bastards and stop raping all series

  • @SpoofTrailers yes i heard it too lol

  • I don't understand what everybody here has against dubbing films or series!!! It's a good thing for many people because it's the only way they can watch a foreign show. And if there are subs, you can't look away from the screen and can't do something else while watching because you always have to read! That's stupid!

And think of old people who can't speak english and who dont have good eyes anymore (like my german grandparents). Dubbed films are the best things for them.

  • english...

  • i dont see whats funny. i have watched seasons 1-10 sofar of stargate and i dont see whats funny.

  • @1darkangel1100

if you watched all 10 season's and didn't find anything funny, you wasted a lot of time. how could you actually stand watching all eps when you couldn't see the humour

  • wasn't that the dude from Fringe?

  • @SpoofTrailers

    Totally, dude! Ha!

  • @SpoofTrailers OMG! It does!

  • LOL...I heard from a friend that her German language teacher told her that German is a disgusting language. Now, when a teacher of a language has that to say about the language they teach, it makes you wonder. I don't like the German language. They've tortured me with it for 8 years, I've got As and Bs but I hated it, it's just... *shudder*

  • You have to understand that in Germany, everything is sound translated xD... God i love that... I once watched a western when i was on bissiness there: Wo sind mine canonen :D.

  • I am not from a country, where everyone speaks english - in fact - no one does. And I watched every episode of every stargate series, including Universe, SG-1 and Atlantis... Other dabs sucks. Their original voices are the best and why did yu put it here in unknown language, but everything else - Title and description are ENG??? 1/5*

  • fucking retarded u put shit in english on text, yet in a foreign language audio, with no subtitles fail on many levels

  • @razgrizcl Agreed!

  • I don't speak the language, but I still understood and laughed.

  • scheisse xD

  • OMG, it does!

  • Oh yeah, RTL2 rocks. This is actually how I first stumbled upon StarGate SG1, like 6 years ago, have been watching ever since. Thanks RTL2 for showing this. Also German dubs are awesome. I watch only German television although I am not German.

  • Just because you don't understand the language doesn't make it bad. Not every single living thing needs to learn English...

  • tell that too the rest of the world scholars, if i didnt have to learn it answer me why i still did.

also, dubbing a series is simply retarted, only when it's absolutely needed it's good like japanese-english.

  • being ignorant is fun I guess

  • I think english-german can be much better dubbed than japanese-english. (my personal opinion only)

I watch Animes in Japanese with english (or german) subs only. (but mostly because here in germany the animes are not only dubbed, but also censored, and that IS crappy -.-)

But I have no problem watching german dubs of english series (I watch them on english, too sometimes)

And if you comment: I CAN speak english. I have it accredited that I can. =)

  • in the country your living all shows are english?

  • yes motherfucker, all foreign shows that are shown in sweden use the original sounds with swedish subtitles.....we dont need to dub shit like you idiots

  • @Belenor wow.. i posted a comment 1month ago and you still answer it.... hell yea, thats what i call lame

  • yes, all that are normally english, not counting cartoons but that's understandable.

  • dubbed? gay.

  • Fuck Dubbing.

  • Yeah when I watch foreign films I prefer it in subtitles rather than dubbed. It's just seems weird watching dubbed films.

  • HEHE! ahhh. i love daniel. <3

  • 0:25

holy crap it's Walter from fringe!!!!!!!

  • yaph the same thought here:D he cannot have a simple role, now can he?:D

  • lol, i remember this..

  • Diese Stelle in der Folge ist echt total lustig!:)

Why are all of you blame Germans because they like to watch Films oder Series in their own language?

Who of you would watch a german Film in german?

Of cause English is the most speaken Language in the World but for that reason not all other language has to be destroyed!!!

  • I would watch a german movie/series in german... Which is also what I do...

No offense to the voice actors, but it just seems more honest, if it is the real actors voices that are used...

But can't germans read german? Why not use subs?

  • Here is the problem. You can undestand the english version. Yet your stubbornes makes you dubb everything. I've been to Germany, you cant watch television without knowing german. I live in Norway, we dont dubb English series or movies because the ORIGINAL is the way the director intended the movie or show. You can make your own god damn shows but dont think you accept the languages of the world by ignoring the english language. That pisses me off.

  • I wouldn't dream of watching a german movie, dubbed to english... That would be awful, it is already bad enougth to watch dubbed cartoons, real live show... No thanks... But you are completely allowed to prefer it dubbed. Just know it isn't some sort of discrimination towards the german language.

  • So you didn't watch "The Wave"? "Toyland"? "The Edge of Heaven" or "The Lives of Others"? "The Counterfeiters" or "Keinohrhasen (Rabbit Without Ears)"?

  • All U.S. series and films get dubbed in germany, if it's not, it won't air.

It sucks as a)there is a limited voice actor pool, which leads to the problem that if you watch many series/movies you always remember the voices from another movie.

And b) comparing the original and the dubbed one, dubbed always has some mistakes

But sadly... the majority here can't speak English for shit, so if the stations don't want to lose like half of their viewers, they have to translate...

    I'm German...

  • Allot of Norwegians can't speak english either, but we just add subtitles to everything.

We tried dubbing about ten years ago and everybody laughed it out of the airwaves.

It just always inevitably looks stupid.

if you ask me, which you didn't btw, I'd say subtitles are always the way to go.

  • Yep, that's what I think too, but try telling that to my fellow germans, they would be like wtf? subtitles? english!!??? we want it voiced in german!!!

As for me, I'm importing most of my DVDs and games of the UK, even saves me some money as the € is pretty strong in comparism to the pound in these times.

  • Der Hammer!

    Ich LIEBE Michael Shanks!!

  • lol, so funny, i love that episode =D (even though i have no idea what they r saying in this vid=P)

  • Daniel Jackson has a beautiful German voice. I can't understand a word he's saying, but I love listening to it.

  • The guy who speaks his German voice is Klaus-Peter Krap. He really has a nice voice. He's an actor himself, but makes more money with synchronisation I think xD also synchronises Randy Disher from "Monk"

  • Thanks.

Also on the subject of dubbing, I've listened to Stargate in French sometimes, when I happen to get it on DVD, because my French is a little rusty, and the only French stations we get around here are BORING. It's weird, hearing different voices speak the characters' lines, but after a while I get used to it.

  • The russian guy has a russian accent ^^

    (In german)

  • This is actually awesome, and i understand some of it too.

  • The only "good voice" in the German version is O'Neill's one. I've seen all SG1 episodes(and almost all of Atlantis) in English. The German version sounds kinda embarassing ^^.

House MD is, in my opinion, better in German than in English.

  • right you are - embarassing... No wonder most people in Germany don't like Stargate...

Stargate Altantis on the other hand has a great dubbing! Especially McKay is wonderfully sarcastic :-)

  • If done properly dubbing doesn't kill anything in shows and movies.

I think it would be very exhausting sooner or later to watch every single show in english and read the subtitles, because although I think I'm better than others in english, there are still things I don't get the first time - Maybe even in my mother language.

And there's a second thing: My 50 year old father who came from russia to germany when he was young watches stargate also - Should he "read" every episode? Of course not!

  • Lol.. they fucked up theyr voices, fucking german translatiors sounds like little girls.

  • Ausgezeignet.... Good humor auf Deutsch und in English... Ja wohl.......

  • einfach genial xD

  • THANK GOD i live in a country where we use a little something called subtitles. i hate countries that double movies and shows. it kills more than half the charm of every character..

  • I agree. I live in France and usually I watch Stargate in french (which isn't the worst series double, believe me), and then I can't wait for the DVD release, to rewatch them all :) (same with Lost)

  • Of course by "double" I meant "dubbing".

  • TY that i download'em so i can watch with or without subs, why would you need dubbers for i mean comon, youll inprove english with subtitles that im glad for

  • Generally I agree with you. But the Stargates are the only series dubbed properly in Bulgaria. And that's on the second try. They re-dubbed them after the first dub sucked.

  • @vladsomnorosu subtitles suck

  • @vladsomnorosu agree, i hate dubbing as well and germans do that to everything, subtitles are the best of course, however i prefer when one person translate, and orginal voices are in the background then dubbing.

  • @vladsomnorosu I live in Germany and I'm pissed I never get the chance to see series or movies with original voices when I watch tv. At least they should give us a choice!! I absolutely hate the dubbing so I watch almost everything on DVD.

  • @vladsomnorosu and us english dont do the same thing ok thats fair

  • Double?

  • oh it only I could understand what they were saying

  • well, now I know why so many people in Germany don't like Stargate, the dubbing is aweful... Glad I am able to watch it in Englisch...

  • Amen to that, thank god sweden dont do this to the shows, god id kill my self , ENGLISH FTW!!

  • stupid germans -.-

  • mein timing is shit LOOL that cracked me up

  • did he just say: man my timing is shit? or something like that?

  • It sounds like it in German, but in the original version it's like "Man, my timing's off" or something.

  • mann, mein timing ist heute erschütternd

  • Whats happening is Daniel says that magic doesn`t exist (They are on P3x47 {Camelot}) and then the Earth ship Promethius beams them up and scares everyone lol

  • not the Prometheus - the Korelev (Russian BC-304)

  • I'm not German (American, but I lived in Germany for a while and speak German), and dubs annoy the crap out of me. Especially when they're English movies/shows xD I think the most annoying part is people who speak German (generally) have higher-pitched voices, so it sounds a lot different. Plus dubbed voices are always so different from the originals it's really weird to watch if you've seen it un-dubbed.

  • I KNOW, seriously. And for some reason all the Spanish dubs are super-low beyond belief. It's kindof funny, though. But I'd still watch them all in English, and German shows in German. I watch anime in Japanese subbed in English. Just is better like that, for the most part. Some exceptions include Rurouni Kenshin and DBZ. Like seriously, have you ever heard the the voice actor for Goku/Gohan/Goten? They have the same woman do all of their voices, and she's very high-pitched.

  • Lol, the voice of english actor maybe good.

But us-dubs of foreign movies are so awful.

Take DBZ as example, the voices realy dont fit to their characters. You may think the germans have high pitched voices but against your dub voices they are not.

Besides a lot of your dubbs sound funny, I cant take them serious, because they sound to much fake.

  • This is funny cause even though I don't understand a word of german, from the motions, you can still tell what's going on. And its hilarious. Especially Daniel's reaction after being beamed up.

That, and I recall seeing this episode in english, and still thought it was funny.

  • I can't understand how people stand to watch dubbed shows. I would just laugh my a** off evry time I'd try to watch TV! (I'm from Sweden and THANK GOD we have subs instead)

  • Only because, your Tv has not enough money to sub it for you its the same thing with portuguese.

  • Maybe you're right, it was originally about money, but partly because of this, swedes are typically better at english then the french, spanish and geraman. Watching subbed movies is a great way to learn a language, and once you're used to watching with subs you wouldn't want it any other way, even if you don't know the language.

  • Maybe you are right about that better speaking english.

Its awful to hear germans, spainsspeaking english

But I realy doubt that you get your advantage by reading subs in english movies.

My own experience is, that if you read subs in an english movie as someone, who doesnt understand it that good, you gonna only concentrate on reading, without understanding and learning the spoken

I mean the portuguese do have the same type of Tv,

and they still dont speak english that good as maybe the swedes do

  • Seems like you're not good enough at reading. If you get used to it, you don't have to 'concentrate' on it, it comes just as naturally as simply hearing it. It doesn't mattter what language, I still prefer subs, even if it's a language I have never even heard before.

  • @Natra266 not quite, i think NO movie should ever be translated. Keep the originals ! Please. Try to learn the languages if you dont understand. English, French, German are a must for every citizen of the Planet.

  • @cunuc you mention french and german but you do not mention the most spoken language on planet earth shame on you, Honestly Mandarin and English are the primary languages if you live in the US french if you live close to canadaland or spanish if you live closer to mexico. Not to sound like an asshat if your gonna come to a country speak it's primary language first.

  • @DarkPredatorVER2 learn to use commas and periods. And read my msg again and if you still want to reply to me, send a private msg, dont spoil the topic here pls.

you`re thinking of official/defacto not primary languages. google/wiki. and chinese is on the list simply because of their numbers. At international level and influence, chinese is 0, yet.

  • @DarkPredatorVER2 I'm sorry...Canadaland? what?...

  • @Natra266 it's for people who can't read.

  • @Natra266 you seriously think so? there are tons of people working their asses of, so that everybody who understands the dubbed language can also watch the episode without the need to fixate on the screen every second, just to read the dialog O_O

i mean seriously, english original is mostly better, but only for those who understand it, and i personally would not make due with a language i dont understand and subtitles

So thanks to all those synchronizing studios all over the world :)

  • @Natra266 I totally agree. In germany most U.S. tv shows are dubbed. it's kinda weird they have different voices, it just doesn't fit^^

  • @thefreakytauri

Nah, the German dubs ar actually good. Very high quality voice acting. The only thing that doesn't translate well are puns, but nobody likes puns anyway.

  • @someguy459

Maybe, but there is still a problem with the "You". In german, there a two different types for addressing someone, one is "du" for friends or people you know well, and one is "Sie" for people you do not know (well). "Sie" is also used for showing respect, and it creates a distance between two people. In the german translation e.g. Daniel and Jack both address each other with "Sie", which creates the feeling they are colleagues but not friends. That's why I don't like the dubs ;-)

  • piece of advise:if you are planning to make a german vid than make the description also german than i would have watched this vid

  • I think German television is the only tv system that doesn't uses subtitles.. really annoying.

  • well Czech republic dub serials too, realy annoying cause its like 10 people dubbing every film/serial over and over

  • I know Spain, France, Italy, Russia and Poland dub as well.

  • Personally, I don't mind the fact that it's in German. I studied it for five years. What through me off is the english title. you read something in english, you expect it to be in english. Still, thanks for posting.

  • das ist soo gut =)

  • i love the russian with german language

  • When i watch this im saying thanks to god for not sending a dubbed version here

  • there are no magic. *beem*

everytime i will say that this happends.

  • How can this be annoying? if you dont like it, dont watch it and nothing annoys you? oO

  • Why do germans have to voice over every single show they get? And why do the do it so badly? Like with The Nanny, the voice for fran is not nasal. my gawd its so annoying!

  • Subtitles or death

  • I think so too. I'm german, but I try to get every movie in it's original language. It just fits better than any synchronisation.

  • I'm german too. I watching evey movie I got on DVD in English. It's just so annoying to hear all those voices which do not fit to the persons.

Well, I guess a lot of German people would disagree with me on that because they can't understand a word if it's in English.

    However, the scene is great.

  • They voice over it because much of the population in Germany cant read so good...

  • Well, I'm German and I'd say that they dub it cause it is kinda annoying to read while you're watching. A lot of people in Germany don't understand english and if the movies weren't dubbed a lot of people wouldn't watch them.

  • it's because you aren't used to read subs...

  • Germany sucks for not using subtitles... Maybe they are to retarded to learn english or even learn to read they're own language?

  • well wouldent it just be more comfortable to hear not to read? It doesent mean they can't read. Man do you americans really think we europeans are some people that can't read and are rich and all of us a idiot's? Its not true!

  • No, I dont need to read since I speak english fluently.

  • jeez, every non-english-speaking country does that.

  • no estonia dosent and i love that

  • Tell me...have any of you ever watched Bleach...or FullMetal Alchemist...or DeathNote on Adult Swim? If so I have one word...hypocrite! ^.^

  • i saw that one. it happened twice exactly after they said that there is no such thing as magic

  • The german voice for daniel sounds very bad for him.

  • it's just a machine , like a catapult, just more complicated, there's no such thing a magic, and then they get beamed up :D lol

  • Learn to write english?

  • I think he was saying something like, "Its just a machine its got nothing to do with gods" *He beams out like a god*

  • gg wie geil

  • xD ja die stelle is echt geil..

  • revers german its english and if you take english and reverse it becomes german haha

  • Daniel sounds so gayyyyyyyyyyyy

    but hes awesome!

  • Sprachende ingles lol

  • the guy at 30-33secs is he the steward of gondor in lord of the rings? boromir and foromir's father who lights himself on fire and runs off the edge of the city???????????? anyone.

  • Holy crap, I think you're right.

  • it has to be....im too lazy to research it!

  • I don't think that's John Noble... though he does look like him.

  • time for some research i thinks

  • Dubbing is so fucken stupid. This is the reason why Germans don't speak English, they newer hear it cause the dubbing. And it spoils all movies, characters are their voice too, not just their face.

  • I agree that dubbing isn't great, but I have to disagree with your statement that Germans don't speak English. Basically every German from age 15 to 40 speaks English. And Germans hear a ton of English cause most of the songs on the radio are in English.

  • Yeah, it's better then france where they dub pop songs. Or at least they used to, not sure if they still do.

  • omg Daniel's german voice is just soooo gaaaay and wrong =)
