    LEGS

    SOPHIE RAWORTH

  • i love this freakin' movie

  • Standard, substandard training @ 2:14. Dose that mean another semester in the Detroit public school system?

  • you will each receive, a light up wham-o frisbee!

  • omg it looks so real

    : O

  • I thought that Legacy wasn't a bad sequel, seeing that Flynn (Jeff Bridges) was in it and his son got sucked in and held captive to play the games to survive. As for another sequel, only time will tell and if they wait another 28 years, Jeff Bridges won't be in it, most likely to be dead and his son running and owning Tron.

  • You will each receive a FRISBEE!

  • 1:25 WALKING, WALKING, WALKING, WALKING... CUT!

  • @elmestengo It is because it wasn't received well by critics since mostly all of it's effects were done on computer- a brand new concept. They didn't count it as "real" effects because well, they technically weren't.

  • If this movie was ahead of it's time effects- wise, why wasn't it more popular?

  • Have you watched it, its pretty obvious.

  • 2:58 I feel like most of Saark's speech was in Tron: Legacy when Sam was given his identity disk.

  • Wait. If Flynn made Tron---heck. If he made ALL of this, how come he doesn't know where he is??? IM SO CONFUSED. O.O

  • @LittleMissMia123 Flynn did not make Tron, Alan did. Also he never saw the computer from the "inside" before.

  • @LittleMissMia123 He based the world in Tron Legacy off of this one, this whole experience is what inspired him to do his later works.

  • JEFF BRIDGES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kaylortheawesome And he has the same voice.

  • @kaylortheawesome JEFF BRIDGES......MAN!

  • Sark: Finish the game !!

    Flynn: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!

    Sark: Kill him.

    Flynn: NoOOOoOooOooo...

  • dem grapeex was so nice back then

  • @VoldEmortRULEZf

Check out "TRON The Next Day - Flynn Lives Revealed" on Dailymotion. It was a 10 min extra on the Blu-ray release of Tron Legacy. They mention RAM at the end. I totally nerd-gasmed!

  • why do I have the feeling that this movie 'pwns' the latter (meaning Tron: Legacy)? after seeing this scene, i'm not interested in the gloomy-SciFi graphics, but in the original story an concept. does anyone know where can i read about it, or are there any specific and well informative pages on the internet i might find?

still, i can't deny that the latter is bad because of '13' and the amazing effects that opened my eyes wide.

  • 2:40 also mentioned in legacy

  • Long live the users!

  • This looks cool.

  • Come on, guys. This movie is from 1982. Don't say shit about it because this movie is one of the reasons to the special effect of nowadays.

  • ...Was that disk a frisbee?

  • this is the best tron

  • @VoldEmortRULEZf

He's gonna be in the next one.

  • The movie was beyond its era; it still is. End of cyberpunk story.

  • this hurt my eyes :C

  • sweet

  • Omg.. @ How far technology has come..

  • Hey Sark come on, it's just--hey man it's Crom. So his toe slipped over a little, you know, it's just a game, man.

  • Lol. @ those disks compared to the Legacy disks. Lol. Man they upgraded.

  • @colinsilver105 yeah they were basically glowing frisbies

  • Flynn and Crom are playing Hyper-Ball. I played that in the Tron Evolution: Battle Grids game on my Wii system!

  • Finish the game......NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Oh my gosh, I got the top comment! First time ever! Sounds silly, but I'm taking a picture of this.

  • @PhantomOfTheShadow Yep. I find it sad that most movies no longer have fun little things like that.

  • That... That's a frisbee

  • @sawyerangelo1105 no duh

  • the standard sub-standard training... sounds like a lot of places ive worked lol

  • jai alai?

  • who you callin program, program?

  • I BELIVE IN THE USERS FUCK U SARK

  • 24 people were in tron and death by frisbee O__o

  • "Finish him" "NOOO!!!!"

  • i would have thought the lightcycle game grid would be the best scene

  • Bruce Boxleitner and Jeff Bridges are GODS.

  • Now I'm gonna go back and watch this whole movie again. This movie is infectious.

I loved the visuals/audio in Tron: Legacy but I hated many of the characters (Save for Kevin, CLU, Tron) and the plot was goofy.

  • @cyguration While Ram and Flynn are talking, I hear talking in the background. Can you tell me what they are saying?

  • Something Legacy did not have, something called plot and character development.

  • The mix between grey skin, and flickering ligths are really fucking up my eyes!

  • lmao, its actually a Frisbee

  • If CGI today can take long, can you imagine how long it took to make a CGI scene using 1980-81 computers!?

  • are they like Rockman

  • @VoldEmortRULEZf he comes out in the tron legacy: the next day as the guy running the Flynn Lives along with Tron. again Ram and Tron come out as their real life counter parts with their nicknames. Their is also a teaser out their with MCP and Dillenger jr. talking about Sam.

  • The thing i didnt like about legacy is how its stormy just feels like a futuristic world rather than inside a computer

  • Fuck Legacy. I'd rather watch this.

  • Legacy was not a let down at all. In fact it did what it was meant to do. Bring back the world "the Grid" without Legacy people like me might not have even heard of the first. Now hopefully the story in the next one will be a bit better and I hope Rinzler/Tron shows up in it. He will. He must. He fights for the users.

  • whoa! is that professor snape?

  • @Yourheartjustglows no its Allen Rickman

  • @Yourheartjustglows

close but no. that is David Warner. a different British actor. he is pretty good. u might heard him or seen him in other films.

  • new one looks easier on the eyes but the old one is better

  • TRon: legacy story is shit

  • Every one who is saying that the new one is shit compared to this one is fucking idiotic. IT CALLED FUCKING PROGRESS !

  • No one cares about your comment, you have no knowledge of what our generation of movies were like in they're most pure ways of old school special effects, today's and generations to come will never match the past classics.

    @Thepacotaco25

  • @grizly9b4 no they will surpass them.

  • good Acting wasent concidered important back then, huh

  • 6:18 Damn ! That is Basque Zesta-punta sport !

  • THOSE ARE JUST FRISBEES XD XD XD

  • i'm glad i love both these films

  • omg, in this movie you can see, how old 3D-Rendering is.

At 1:24 you can see, that the hole at the left isn't round.

  • this man looks like professor Snape, really - 2:27

  • Tron Legacy was a piece of shit compared to this old classic masterpiece of a movie that was way ahead of its time in CG compared to todays shit CGI. Sure miss the good old days of movies :(

The original Tron will always be #1 in my book.

  • Want to know what's really funny in the original Tron? Did anybody else notice Pac-Man on one of the screens? It wasn't in this scene, but in one scene, Pac-Man can clearly be seen moving his mouth on a screen next to Saark.

  • @BookReader150 You wanna know what else was funny about that scene? If you listen carefully, you can hear the "Waka waka waka" sound effect from the game in the background during that scene. Then, when Sark gets pissed and knocks that guy down, you hear the Pac Man "die" sound byte.

    No joke! :D

  • @falariem Well, I'll have to check that out. Sounds cool.

  • @High5Brah There were so many "winks" to the 82 movie in Legacy already. Did we really need one more??? lol

What I think they should have done, though, was at the beginning of the movie briefly flashback to the old movie while Flynn was telling his son about the grid. That, in addition to Flynn's arcade, would've been an awesome tribute.

  • @bobbobato Tru dat. I received many a email pointing that out. I did make a mathimatical error, but then realized that my comment makes sense because technology is moving quicker today than 30 years ago.

  • Haha, a frisby!

  • If we use computers and they look like this, what does it look like inside their computers?!

  • lol best quote "in here, program" "hey, who are you calling program, program"

  • Tron Legacy looked like it wasnt Animated like this old one!!!

  • I love how people call this film super cheesy and sucky, yet ALL modern movies use CGI like this nowadays. This was the Avatar, The Matrix of their time. In a couple of years, Avatar will look like shit,, But good plot-lines (like this one) will never die.

  • The punishment shall be....DEATH BY FRISBEE!!!

  • Why does every man in this movie have really long legs???

  • @TekStatic Long legs? The better to play Jai-alai with, I guess. Ever notice, old CGI characters all had long ropy arms like a Modigliani statue? Lawnmower Man... Johnny Mnemonic... the aliens from the Abyss... hey, and Tron looked better than them, too. ;) Something to do with the physics of the computer world, I guess... there's no gravity down there. Hey, wait a minute, why do they keep falling?! Wouldn't it have been fun if they fall UP in the sequel, like a different platform level?

  • Heroes never wear helmets nowadays...

  • Remember when video games cost .25? Now they all take dollar bills...sigh.

  • this is your thrisby, it will stalk you as you carry it on your back. it will learn everything you say or do, so we'll know if you sneek away to hit on porn programs. you will play needlessly dangerouse video games because you believe in "users", so we're basicly killing people with different views on life like christians. get rid of these logical thoughts and you will be brainwashed into becoming one of us. any questions?

  • @DelfinoDude When do we get to meet the MCP? :P

  • @SylphViper

if your lucky, after being brainwashed.

  • @I just wanted to tell him that he's such an awesome communist dictator...When I meet him, I will pull my disk out and chuck it straight at his technological balls. lawl

  • @SylphViper

unless your brainwashed, then all you could do is bow down to him and accept whatever orders he gives you.

  • @DelfinoDude That's true, haha XD btw, you see Legacy?

  • @SylphViper

hell yea i did! it was fuckin awsome!

  • @DelfinoDude ONG I wanna see a Lightcycle in a forest...Like, the tech gets beamed into OUR world...You know? That would create SO much storyline, lol..And the effects would look mad sexy @_@

  • @SylphViper

sounds like someone's a real tron fan.

  • @DelfinoDude Heh, you bet....I was slightly disappointed by Legacy....But I think they'll do better one day. ^_^'''

  • I bought the Bluray and was rather disappointed that it did not include an insert booklet or even BD-Live access or anything. It does a lot of featurettes, though.

  • When you realize that most of the "CGI" in Tron was hand-drawn or optical, and deliberately intended to look like a 1980-s era arcade game, folks will appreciate this movie more.

Ah, who am I kidding, most Americans don't appreciate good graphic design.

  • I can't think of a modern fantasy movie that bested the older version.

  • I personally think the graphics are awesome in this...!

  • i think it's cool even though it is so monochromatic (almost) ...

umm.....i still prefer watching tron legacy....

  • is this disneys?

  • WTF are those games?

Those are nothing compared to tron legacy's

  • @armedforces1000 This is the original. This is better than legacy, actually :3

  • @benjr1820 Yes,but the games they put the programs on sucks!

  • @armedforces1000 your lame bro u shouldve watched this one first ... first tron was nah IS the shit

  • @jimbobpop420 So your'e saying that Legacy is shit?

    Well,Beats me!

  • I want him in the games until he dies playing.

  • I saw on the internet that a new Tron movie called Tron:The Next Day is coming out this year.

  • TRON IS FACEBOOK REMEMBER THE SOUHT PARKS CHAPTER XD

  • yeah..big diference of new movie :D Sounds like Blue Man Group lol

  • It'd be cool if they'd done a remake of this one before they did tron legacy... just for the special effects part...

  • God I love this movie. Love the second one just as much, but in a totally different way...hard to explain.

  • This movie had much more circuitry lights than Legacy. o_o

  • i remember it XD i wasn't even born then, but i saw it later on tv one day, thought it was cool =P

  • Q: Look...just so I can tell my friends what this dream is about, where am I?

A: You're uhhh... YOU'RE TRAPPED IN THE MATRIX MAN!

  • 0:52 He almost look like David Henrie from Wizards of Waverly Place.

  • lol gotta love low budget films, especially when Frisbee's are used as memory disks

  • @Chubby1010107 Tron cost 17 million dollars. It was actually really had to make. you have to realize if you watch a movie from that era, that attempted to mimic the special effects used in this movie, it would look 10 times worse. Tron was a big budget movie. I see where you're coming from though. The hockey helmet was a bit uninspired too.

  • But in Tron legaxy he know whos tron and he said he MADE the tron world.

  • For a movie this old, this is pretty good.

  • All that technology and they didn't have a microphone and a couple of speakers? xD

  • The identity disk looks like a frisbee ^^

  • i miss movies like this

they weren't as weird as the movies today

  • Totally did NOT realize that was Jeff Bridges until moments ago. That was weird.

  • Tron Legacy is nothing compared to this film, this had a story and was pure genius.

  • @Mina0008 I got to disagree, cuz tron legacy was a lot better than many other movies these days, but I think this is a great movie for a movie this old.

  • @Tharandomgamerz - I think you misread my comment, but its fine, That is what I was saying, Legacy has nothing on this old masterpiece.

Still the latest had wonderful scenes and brilliantly executed graphics, it didn't shock like the original did, Atari all the way!

I feel the latest forgot what Tron was all about, all show and no story.

    I wouldn't watch Legacy again.

  • @Mina0008 I meant that I think the new one is better, but the old tron was great too. Although I saw the old one ages ago so I don't remember much about it. This video shows that it was great, but I can't say by watching this video that this would be better. But anyway I think tron legacy was the best movie from Disney in a long time. It was great visually, music was awesome and the actors were awesome. The plot wasn't anything special, but anyway I thought it was great.

  • @Tharandomgamerz - yeah it was good. the effects were better than the film itself personal opinion of course but no doubt visually Legacy looked amazing, top notch for effects in this 3D world.

You have to watch the original again, but when you do, think of what they had back then to work with and what they produced.

    Good stuff.

  • @Mina0008 I heard that more tron movies will come in the future.

  • @Mina0008 Well obviously Legacy was going to lose something as it wasn't the original, but on its own I really liked Tron: Legacy.

  • @Mina0008 maybe ure right but tron legacy has good graphics and looks cool i mean this is awesome to but the new tron had a good story also but this looks good for 1982

  • @Mina0008 ...Tron Legacy was a letdown, lets hope the sequel is better...

  • @Mina0008 I agree they should of just made a remake of Tron

  • i love old school special effects.

  • I'd give up squash for Tron games anyday

  • I remember when I used to throw and catch identity disks all the time! My dog caught some too.

  • funny, but this one looks more like my idea of being inside a program, or computer, than the new one...

  • you kidding me? this is the movie I'm downloading right now? gonna stop it right now lols

  • so much better than the new one.

  • The budget was so huge for this movie...

They used frisbees for ID disks...

  • es encerio??

  • holy shit. horrible acting. lol.

  • @DoctorWho2013 TROLLOLOLOLOLOL

  • I loved this one

  • 2:38 that's a very nice Frisbee you have there

  • @binini1 Wow, I was laughing for days at this Frisbee comment after seeing it.... freaking hilarious

  • wow, tron guy really summed up the suit great

  • The graphics in this are actually alot better than i expected

  • Remember, Tron 2011 will look just as cheesy in the year 2031 as this one does today.

  • @FreeBlago1 not really, things are looking pretty realistic as of late. its the form we get it (3d) and how clear the film looks that will push it further

  • @FreeBlago1 don't you mean 2041?

  • @FreeBlago1 Voted down comment because I don't think Tron looks cheesy at all. Never understood the logic of that argument.

Tron's graphics are intentionally spare and rectilinear... like a circuit board.

Tron Legacy looks like a different universe with a different premise... not the same concept at all. Frankly, its art design made me think of Fast & the Furious, Sharkboy & Lavagirl, Disney Times Square advertisements. Not a compliment.

  • @ijwi Eactly , just look at the "Making of..." feature. They had several designers working on the look of the computer world; separate groups worked on Sark's ship, and another on the Simulation Sail they hijacked. It wasn't meant to look pristine and perfect like the new release does. But the new one is "supposed" to be what it looks like in today's PC...really? Uhhh I don't think I imagine my PC innards looking like a sprawling city with neon lights and spandex.

  • @FreeBlago1 I don't think Tron 2011 will look just as cheesy in 2031 as the original looks today at all. I think it will be another sequel forgoten in time.

  • @FreeBlago1 That is so ignorant, lol.

  • @FreeBlago1 I disagree. This one was produced based on the way advanced video games looked at the time. Tron: Legacy was designed and produced based on very futuristic ideas.

  • @FreeBlago1 Well, technically, you should be comparing 2011 to 2040 if we're talking about 1982.
