@vodude I went for a drive today and for the first time in decades, I thew on a Huey Lewis album and listened to it instead of my usual hard rock and heavy metal. It was a great time. The album was "Sports" which had so many great songs. What's missing from rock music today is the fun, not to mention the sax and harmonica solos!

Look at Iron Maiden. After over 30 years working, they laugh and smile on stage nearly their entire show. Now rockers have just two settings: angsty or nerdy.

@KeenAnthony not only did sports have lots of good songs, but it was ALL HITS. not one song on the album escaped massive amounts of air time. even Lionel Ritchie can't claim that with "can't slow down" cause the title cut sucked. Who actually can compete?, (you might gag) was Michael Jackson, with the thriller album. before he was burned up in the PEPSI commercial and ended up hooked on pain killers, he actually was A good looking guy before that.

In the hard rock/metal camp, you could probably look at Def Leppard's Hysteria, although I believe The News charted higher generally. I'm still a MJ fan. "Thriller" is still as good today as it was then.

I know they come to the Tampa Bay area where I'm at quite a bit several times a year (especially in the late winter/early spring) -- I hope maybe next year they will come again so I can try to get concert tickets to see them.
