i got a fawn six month old puppy named Ace and he looks like your big one except he doesnt have so much black around his eyes. His ears were cropped i like them both ways. One ears flops down sometimes. but its cute. Like maramaduke. i got him from a small kill shelter with the knowledge he was a shep mix and when i found out what breed he was i told the shelter guy and he admitted he lied on purpose to ge the dog out of there. I wouldve taken him either way but he didnt have to freaking lie!!!

he's so big but has tight skin. mine are soooo wrinkly with so much extra skin. about two inches when a pull .its wierd

@xlemonbrainx This one looks stupid because the owner failed to keep up with the taping and aftercare required to make the ears stand... DO NOT crop your dogs ears if u arent willing to do they work.

@Tamayo1980 Unless you have owned a dane with floppy ears and seen the pain and discomfort they deal with their ENTIRE lives from severe ear infections brought on by moisture held in the ear canal from heavy floppy ears than u have NO IDEA what is better for the dog. I had a dane that would get ear infections and shake her head so often and vigorously she busted the tips and edges of her ears open spewing blood all over the place only to bust them open again after they finally start to heal.

@alysia9382 yes, i do own a dane and i am totally aware of their susceptibility to get ear infections because of their big ears. Knowing this fact, i ensure that i keep his ears clean (using luke-warm water and cutips <-- cotton swab) as best i can until i take him to pet smart for monthly bath because he also gets an ear cleaning whit his visit. i am No dog expert or doc, but i believe humans are gonna do what they FEEL whats best for their animals but i wouldn't deform my dogs ears.

@Tamayo1980 Then you should know that the infection comes from moisture held in the ear canal... Not dirt. My dogs ears were always very clean.... Cleaning a dogs ears with warm water is asking for an ear infection. You clean with alcohol and a cotton ball or qtip as it evaporates and leaves the ear DRY,.... And its not deforming a dog any more than docking a dogs tail. Especially when its done for health reason and not solely for looks.
