I spent a lot of time with Jackson in Woodstock in the early '70s. I also ran some shows in Highmount, NY and always included Jackson on the bill. It's nice to see he has a presence here.
For a second at the beginning of this clip my first time seeing it i thought that it was gonna be jackson frank himself. The man is a fleeting ghost. I wish that i had known about him before he passed or else i would have absolutely tried to help him get off the streets. A musician like that deserves better than where he ended up.
where he ended up?i just found this, just this minute.so shame on me,its the first time of heard of him,but i fell in love. so i want to know more about him,and i liked your comment, you seemed like someone who knows more than just a bit about him,so could you please throw light on him for me?
many years ago by the BBC, called "Folk Roots" as i remember.I bought the album in 1966, lent it to a friend and never got it back.Contacted the BBC, who in turn contacted the producer. The album held by Connolly , in fact' belonged to Bert Jansch. The producer contacted B Jansch. A few weeks later I received a brown padded envelope with a CD copy of the album from Bert Jansch! True. Thanks Bert.........................Brian

Amazing musician. His album is really an unrecognized gem. It makes me sad when I think about how tough his life was.

I'd love to but I don't have the documentary anymore. If I ever come across it again, I'll put the whole thing up.

Simon is a red headed step-child at best compared to Jackson.

It couldn't be better said. S&G are wonderful, but they couldn't hold the candle for Frank.

It couldn't be better said. S&G are certainly great, but I swear they couldn't hold the candle for Jackson.

Listen to this and the rest of the album then remember that Jackson lived with Paul Simon for a while Then listen to Early Simon and Garfunkle stuff.
Its a chicken and egg situation if ever there was one.!!

Mascarajunky, Amazing story! And typical, as I understand it, of Bery Jansch's generosity.
Of course, the album is readily available now, with a huge amount of bonus tracks on the 2005 release.

The man was a genius, eventhough he had a dreadfully tough life. Funny to see a young Billy Collony

Thanks for posting. Could you tell me what documentary this is from? I'm interested in Jackson C. Frank and Bert Jansch.
