  • @linkinrishabh well i think boss me 25, is better. Distortion is so good!

  • great tone!

  • sounds good but you had better practice your picking

  • Can you record on computer with this?

  • which one is better ??? boss me-25 or vox tone lab st ???

  • whats the eerie tune at 1:23

    ?

  • @asianaxeman The Call of Ktulu (Chtulu) by Metallica

  • can you tell me the settings of this first fucking cool distortion sound?

  • High 'E' out of tune,

    Pedal seems usable though

  • @bnnkhardcore Is it an expantion of The vox valvetronix amp series i have the vox vt30 and i was wondering is this will expand its modeling capablities

  • I dont understand, for what is the "by pass"? You can save in the pedal you own mix of effects? Tellme pls :)

  • Hey nice video ... what do you say Vox Tonelab ST or Rocktron Utopia G100 ?

  • thumbs up for metallica !!!

  • GOOD...

  • METALLICA GUY Here

  • A Change of Seasons =D

  • nice!:D

  • Just a suggestion...clean up your room a little before recording videos. You might seem a little more "for real." I'm just sayin...

  • would it be wise to get a distortion pedal with the tonelab st

  • can you set it without amp modeling? just like a pedal in front of an amp?

  • hey guys did u get the usb cable when you brought the vox tonelab st? because I didnt!!!

  • nice call of ktulu :D... a bit mistakes but nice.. and nice vox tonelab.. want to buy one my self, but don't know if i should just by a vox pedal

  • hey, how do you plug this into your line 6 amp?do you just plug the guitar to vox and vox to the "guitar " input or you connect it some other way? cause i do that, and i don't get always the best of sound lol, or atleast the one you get. how do you plug it into the speaker?

  • @xaviour111 guitar, to this, to the amp. it's marked, guitar in, guitar out on the tonelab. It tells you where to put another cable going out and to the amp. Not rocket science, bro.

  • this doesnt have a pitch shifter right?

  • @AHMADF93 it does.

  • This pedal has defase of time, echo and or delays in the sounds in ms? It answers please I do not speak Englishman am of mexico thank you

  • Hmm is that guitar in tune?! Doesn't sound like it is...

  • would this sound good with a les paul ?

  • @mtbxcfreak what kinda les paul? it sounds good on almost every guitar that costs more than itself =)

  • hey man, great video! just wanted to ask, can this change the guitar tunings like through the amp? cheers

  • Can you plug the vox tonelab st into an acoustic amp and play electric guitar

  • SIr, i'd like to know if it's possible to use the expression pedal as a volume pedal.Do let me know (like flanging going up and down with your foot)

  • @TheBelva85 yes you can use it for a volume pedal.

  • @TheBelva85 absolutely

  • @TheBelva85 yep

  • really nice sound to match ur sweet guitar playing...reminds me of the good music we used to hear.

  • nice melody you had at 1:55

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 It's Dream Theater - Change of Seasons.

  • very nice distortion sound, what about the wah?

  • Can u run this through a normal , Fender Frontman 15 gig??

  • name of the song 0:43???

  • bluesfashion @ metallica Call of Ktulu

  • @bluesfashion call of ktulu by metallica

  • nice video!

  • can i run this directly in to a mixing table, and then to 250w speaker? thank's.

  • @Mrr3nato yeah

  • I have been looking at these. Tossing up between this and the Digitech RP355. Anyone got any insights? Thanks.

Also, I know nothing about tube amps or anything but don't the tubes require replacement? And so wouldn't this need the same?

  • Nice Call of Ktulu !

  • Comment removed

  • Since it has a vacuum tube inside, do you have to replace that tube? and if so, how often? and can it easily be done by myself, or should I trust someone else?

(Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions, but I'm planning to buy this soon)

  • can you use an external distortion pedal and use the effects on the tonelab together? let's say i would use a distortion box and use the tonelab's delay? will it work? thanks in advance

  • I already have a tube amp; is this worth getting?

  • Can you put this directly into a cab?

  • @henrytdsimmons

You can put this into a cab but it is best if you turn off the cab for that preset for the best tone. The reason for this is that it will end up sounding all phasey and weird and not like the real cab that you are trying to emulate. For example: your Marshall cab will never sound like a Fender Bassman, but you can use the Tweed amp setting to get the Bassman sound and then run that through your own cab. This is the way to do it for any amp emulator for best results

  • Pity, is i havn't figured out, how to set tones to one particular number, so like, clean on 1, heavy distortion on 2 ya know?

  • this is the worst fucking "demo" ever made in the history of the fucking universe.

  • I really want to use this for just the amp replicas are they good?

  • What amp u using mate ?

  • Is it for tube amps or dose it sound like tube amps. I guess what I'm asking is:

Do I need a tube amp to use it properly? or will an SS (solid state) amp work fine?.

  • @tynok2094 neither. This pedal aims to replicate sounds produced by classic tube amps (they have 11 amp and 33 cab models). Let's say you have a mesa boogie dual recto head and a 2x12 orange cab and the combo produces a certain sound, then you can select the amp and cab models in this pedal that aim to replicate that sound.

  • @bnnkhardcore So am i still able to use it with a solid state amp. I know it sounds like a stupid question but i don't want to waste two hundred dollars

  • hey man, what is better? tonelab st o pod xt ?? to play live?

  • @simplemelodia vox all the way, for warm and tube-like sound

  • @bnnkhardcore im assuming u can save your own presets but how many?

  • @simplemelodia vox all the way, for warm and tube-like sound

  • @simplemelodia vox all the way, for warm and tube-like sound

  • @bnnkhardcore I'm weary about getting the right distortion pedal or multi effect processor.More so the multi effect mainly because I might loose the analogue sound of my amp.But it sounds pretty good in the video. And also it sounds like it has some sustain which i definitely want. Can you elaborate on my concerns a little.

  • @simplemelodia , the tonelab sounds a lot more organic and natural.....the pod sounds more artificial

  • @simplemelodia I've used both in the studio quite a bit and POD has like 2 usable sounds. The vox has a shitton. I just bought one based on my experiences. POD is massively more popular.. not sure why... *shrug* It has more generic modern sounds and all kindsa current artists endorse them... so that's probably why. I've been playing for 20 years since I was 7 years old.. and VOX in my opinion is way way way way more dynamic.

  • this is the only multi effects thing that doesn't sound digital! I love it!

  • So basically this contains all the effects Ill ever need? Can I switch between effects quickly?

Please help me? Im new to the multieffects scene?

Also would an ampcabinet do or do I need an amp

  • If u never bought one try a pocket pod or this one here those are really good. with this here you can switch between sounds quickly yes not with pod (need extra pedal for pod switch) you can use it on an amp a cabinet or right to your soundcard mic line in. if u have the money you should buy a boss gt 10 (450 €/§)

  • I was thinking of the me70 from boss? Sounds affordable and with a lot of sounds. I play live so being able to switch is really important. Anyway does the pod x3 series have a harmonizer?

    Thanks for your help

  • dunno of pod x3 sry :) look it up in some shops

  • dude get the digitech rp500 its much better

  • I can now afford a boss gt10 or a digitech rp1000. I assume you're going to tell me to go with digitech?

  • no it depends what tone you want if you want a heavey tone for like slayer mettalica and all those band and want to do alot of cover get the digitech. if you want a good tone while performing loud live get the boss but the digitech beats it by much

  • @MrJackanthony no please go with boss it's more reliable and it's much more realsitic sounding while digitech sounds digital and not real please don't get digitech boss is the way for sure i have some demos on some boss pedals if you want to hear some of the types of sounds it's the me-50 but it's the same sounds just go for the boss please

  • @posiedonpowertrio Hey. Thanks. Your words are comforting because I already went with the boss! Im loving it so far though it was a bit hard to understand at first. Awesome pedal and I will never use stompboxes again as long as the gt-10 is there:P I will check your demo's now:) If you could send me patches of some good tones It will be great. Thanks again and happy strumming.

  • its extremely good, u wont need nymore pedals... but u needa bank all the settings like rite nxt 2 eachother, so if u on stage u can change by hittin up/down

  • I have a Peavey Raptor 200 bones baby! I can blast your head off with it. lol I love Vox !

  • great demoo man dont listen to those guys hey man im having a problem with my st the notes dont ring for long and have no sustain specially pinched harmonics you know what the problem is the sound kinda dissapears

  • @12345678ix press and hold the "cabinet" button til the light blinks, then turn the MIDDLE control down. This is the noise reduction, which is set WAY too high at the factory - after you adjust that, you'll love it.

  • ROCK ON !!!

  • are u srsly using a dk1...?

  • Yeah, Call of Ktulu.

I have that ToneLab with a Marshall Combo...^^

  • Yeah what is that song at 2:00?

  • Would love to see you covering a van halen song like POUNDCAKE or Mean Street

    ROCK N ROLL

  • whats the song at 2:00?

  • I love my tonelab se

  • this is good for when you want to have alot of effects but dont want to carry all the pedal?or when instead of wasting money on a bunch pedals you have em all right here right

  • i hate it when really good equiptment like that jackson fall in to the hands of people who cant play well, work on getting the notes rather than getting the equiptment.

  • Amen brother

  • Wow, leave the guy alone and stop being so harsh

  • @blazemite "fall"? Instead of masturbating with the guitar for 6-7 hours a day like you, some people gotta go out there n' work their ass off in order to buy the gears the love. So even tho they are not able to play at ur outstanding level, they can enjoy playing with the stuff they work hard to earn

  • Don't pick up your dirty clothes when you make a video. Thanks!

  • well guys i tesed the pedal on an epiphone(which sucks) and it got an extremely good sound...

  • That guitar sounds like crap at the start, where you actually can hear it through the effects...

  • Comment removed

  • I think you're forgetting that he's running this through a spider II? The guitar hardly matters.

  • Or possibly a fender strat with texas specials or les paul with 57 classics or even an sg with 490/498 humbuckers. What im trying to say is there is no top notch high quality jackson, maybe the phil collins signature, and thats still crap. Dont even get me started with schecter. ive seen schecters at my local hastings witch is a book store.

  • i prefer my high end japanese, to all the american les pauls i've ever played ( alot, inc some re-issues.) but yeah, it's all down to prefereance

  • Hey!

    Great pedal!

I wondering if I`m gonna buy this, or the BOSS Drive Zone pedal...

How heavy can you get the sound?

    Like Megadeth/Metallica heavy?

    Is it easy to use?

What is the negative with it???

  • Can u get a realy heavy thrash sound out of this like alot of brights etc?

  • Hey nice demo, but how do change the patches quickly when playing?

  • you just have to go up and down using the stomp buttons, which is a drawback of the ST. Another shortcoming is that there's no midi in/out so you can't use an external controller for quick patch changes

  • and can you play more than one effect on the pedal section, or only one and you have to use the pedal for it?

  • stuck*

  • what's the intro he plays? my mind is sutck...

  • call of kutulu by Metallica leading to a change of seasons (carpe diem) by Dream Theater

  • @bnnkhardcore Thank you

  • Damn, you got it to almost sound like the tone from Ride the Lightning.

  • The distortion sounds like one of those Krank amps hehe. It just has that little extra oomph over Line 6 I can tell that much. You can tell the pick attack is not fake sounding like Line 6. Always the same no matter how you pick.

  • how does the amp models sound compared to that tonelab st with the spider II?

  • this sounds great but the manual doesn't show much about editing your own tones..

  • Comment removed

  • i just got the pedal and im completely lost, no idea how to use it :(

  • RTfM and if that doesn't work, sell your gear on eBay.

  • does this have a headphones out on it? so i can use it without a speaker?

  • you can always use the output jack but it's for standard guitar cable you'll need an adapter jack for your 3.5mm

  • Is it possible to turn the amp & cab models off to use the tonelab st only for a multi effect pedal?

  • yes

  • What minor changes did u make to the Metallica preset to get it more master of puppets sounding?

  • does this have effects like vibrato etc

  • yes

  • The Metallica S&M part you played with the chorus was really nice. The tone was exactly th same.

  • Does your ST come with a Van Halen preset? and how many effects can u use at once? I want to use phaser along with delay at the same time. Thanks! Great demo

  • does the tube on this thing ever go out? (Sorry if thats a dumb question.. lol)

  • hello all

does anyone think (or know) whether this pedal is compatible with a Marshall MG15 amp?

    Great video by the way!

  • Hello all do you think (or know) whether this pedal is compatible with at Marshall MG 15 amp?

    Great video by the way.

  • Tube amps are a lot more expensive than solid state amps. I have a Fender solid state 100 watt amp. I use the tonelab to give me the tube sound for a reduced price

  • Omalley, do u really notice the tube tone on this thing? i havent tried one live yet so..i dont know, and i was wondering if this pedal has some kind of Whammy, hope u can help me

  • There is no whammy. That would be on your guitar. And you definitely notice the tube sound

  • really cheap on thomann 2

  • does it have a wah effect?

  • floor pod plus or voxst???

    what do u think?

  • vox st for sure

  • being that it runs on a tube does the distortion sound more tube like?

  • Yup. I had the SE (still not knowing why I sold it) which was basically the same but with more buttons ;) I modelled a Marshall JCM800 with a boost pedal with it and the sound was fantastic! The tone was so thick that you almost could cut it with a knife. In my opinion it just has some minor issues with noise (If you simulate a cranked up high gain amp). The onboard noise gate didn't work too well in my opinion, but it's a 1000 times better than most "pure digital" amp modellers on the market.

  • wow! thank you! were you playing it through a solid state amp or tube?

  • tube

    line 6 spider 75w

  • Sounded like you played a part of the solo in Good Times Bad Times by Led Zeppelin lol

  • Thats Call of Kitulu by Metallica

  • shit I need to buy this ¨!*&!##&

  • By the way you're tone sounds exactly like The Call of Ktulu. Definitely gonna buy one of these.

  • lol nvm

  • What is that first clean song? I know it's by one of my favourite bands...

  • the first clean song is Metallica from the album "Ride The Lightning". I dont remember the name of the song though

  • Yeah like ten seconds after i figured out it was The Call Of Ktulu off of Ride the Lightning. So i came back and said "lol nvm".

  • i used to have a gutairport, which was pretty cool but sounded very digital too me like all line 6 (not dissing on line 6 tho pretty cool for the money) and I had to sell it to pay rent, so now I'm going to buy the tonelab st cuz u can use it on computer or an amp, etc, and it has a pretty decent tube sound with the tube in it. anyways, ive looked everywhere and cant find out if you can use it with a program like guitar port or GTR, a live play, computer amp type of a thing, does anyone know?

  • your mate's lucky to have you. you bought it or him? how about you buy one for me now?

  • call of ktulu!

  • lol smells like teen spirits need some work lol

  • damn your friend is lucky to have a buddy like you

  • baaaatteryyyyyyy

  • Hey dude! I got the tonelab too. but i cant record with it using USB connection. adobe audition or any other programs wont record the signal. what program do you use?

  • There should be a website for you to download the software from. If its not in the packaging, google "vox tonelab software" or something like that and you'll be able to find it. If your really lazy I can find it for u. btw how is it? I really want one!

  • You should use ASIO if your soundcard supports it. Adobe Audition should be able to do the job as long as you route the signal path correctly.

  • THanks guys, already figured it out. although i still dont know how to record so that i can hear myself playing... aa who cares.

It is a really great effect board for homerecording. quality amp models and effects. And the USB sound librarian is very useful if you want to modify the patchlist. All in all if you want a great little pedal just for much less money buy this. If you have the money try GT 10 :)

  • ST is a vdery good piece of shizzle. You know you can also change the tone/ dist/ etc. to match the exact song... to do it you go to a song preset.. say 60 (smells liek teen spirit) and you turn the knobs, a little dot will appear on the LED screen if it matches correctly! have fun! and read the manual.

  • I've got the SE. Vox makes good shit.

  • Cool,

Does this have the ENGL amp.

  • wow this is only 200$! But i need to get a tube amp first

  • can you use it as an audio interface with other modelling software (amplitube, guitar rig etc)

  • Yes. I used the podxt USB cable to record directly with cubase/audacity. I posted a sample just now.

  • Please make full revue with all effects and presets of the new Vox ToneLab ST!:)
