  • Way to show those scouts an awesome time. I live close to the LVG and hike it often. I always love to see adults taking the time to teach young ones the ways of the woods. Keep up your good work.

  • if you look closely I say hey at the beginning

  • First, THANK YOU for your service to our wonderful Country! We are from Burlington and are having a great time introducing the great outdoors to our scouts. I admire your interest in being involved in our youth and especially the scouting program. I would advise several things, first contact your council office and find out who your district executive (paid professional) is. That would be a young person that can fill you in on your district. He would be a great resource as well as guide.

  • @HydeMyJekyll I would also suggest asking about a position on the Commissioners staff. I think this is a very easy way to put your foot into district service as well as find out where the +'s & -'s are at the unit level. This way you will be invited to participate with as many troop activities as you would like to attend.

    Good Luck!

  • Glad to see you guys out with the Scouts enjoying the world around us! I live in Asheville and would love to get back involved with scouting, maybe as an Assistant Scoutmaster or at least something where I can help out during meetings and go on the trips. I'm almost 25 and will be returning from USMC Boot Camp and School of Infantry this Winter, and I'll be staying in Asheville since I'll be in the reserves. Any Troop you'd recommend in the Asheville area?
