No car is perfect - I think Toyota fans deserved this, and so does Toyota due to their advertising in the 90s where Toyota used to say, When have you ever seen a broken down Toyota?... This is not a UAW and governmet conspiracy to prop up GM and Chrysler. The Japanese do not like to admit error. It's in their culture. Toyota does not do volentary recalls. They've had reported problems since 1993. It's just taken this long because the problems are getting out of control.

Three questions: 1. If Toyota has a faulty part or system certainly one of the army of lawyers working against them can show the media one faulty car (without rigging it) can't they? 2. Why can't Congress ask Toyota to agree with them on a third party Engineering firm to inspect the car, that is common in many disputes. 3. Why do ordinary Americans let people like Kane give false NHTSA complaints (see False NHTSA complaints found in Kane's report to Congress)

Where do you come up with these statistics you dumb shit. Number one recall in history? Toyota has recalled 9 million cars to date. Ford recalled 14 million in 1999 ALONE. Hey folks. you can believe that if Toyota knew what caused the deaths, they would take care of it. Something sinister is in the works. Not sure what, but Toyota is not at fault here. If it were electronic, you would have way more accidents and recalls because the problem would affect 1000's of cars not just a few. It would be consistent throughout manufacturing. I smell rotten cheese in Denmark , but not with Toyota. Anyone else see this? A few of these cars were hacked and/or delib. tampered?

Time to talk about conflict of interest. This has more to do with trashing your competitor's name than safety issues. We've never seen this kind of congressional attention paid to safety recalls, ever. Now that the Fed. Govt basically owns GM and Chrysler, the more they can trash the Toyota brand, the more cars They can sell. Calling this a conflict of interest is being kind. Toyota of course will retaliate by shutting down plants in Union states...there go another 50,000+ jobs.

Lest we forget, there was a previous recall of Ford Explorers that were equipped with Firestones that precipitated that. It was an ongoing problem that needed to be addressed. All I know is I'll never buy a GM or Chrysler product while the Fed and the UAW are majority stockholders. I'll buy either Ford, Audi, or Toyota.
