  • Bs video!! This is a stock evo or very few mods and tuned like shit. Even if the evo had full bolt ons and a good tune it would still only be at 330 whp and like 304 TQ which is still probably 80 to 90 less whp than the cobra. Next time race an evo with equal power and see the out come.

  • 03-04 Cobras are a little tricky to launch, but once you get out of the hole, see ya later! IMO, there is no better performance bargan available. Today you can buy a nice condition Cobra, low miles, for around $19k-$22k. They are fast as hell when they are bone stock, nevermind with a pulley/tune, intake/exhaust mod. 450+ rwhp with only about $1,500 in mods. For most people, 450 rwhp is frightening, believe me.

  • Why r there so many tards on here? This is what 03 or 04 cobra? I know ford rated at 390 but dyno test prove that they have about 360 to 370 to the wheels. The evo in this video is probably stock and if not exhaust and intake at the most. Which means the cobra is probably like 100 hp more to wheels of course the evo is going to lose. Some of you on here are stupid as fuck. Give the evo the same power @ wheels with a good driver and it would be a different race and out come.

  • @recordbreaker5 evo 8 curb is 3275 with drivers and cam guy 3635 saying they weight 180 each might be more. Cobra curb 3664 with driver 3844 200lbs is not that much. Same power and weight I would take that bet in a second. Also don't forget even if this evo had every bolt on he could of on the car and a good tune still would only have about 330 to wheels and from the launch and how slow it looked the thing was stock. I own a high HP evo and I can tell u the 1 in the vid had shit for mods.

I looked up the weight of an 8 which is a few lbs over 3100. so starting out with no passengers, the termi is 560lbs heavier which is expected. add your 200lbs to the termi and say its 3850lbs, add 2 passengers to the evo making it somewhere close to 3500lbs>...350lbs is a world of difference. That cobra doesn't look like anything to be bragging about, and neither does the evo. I understand your point but...

Another last added fact I want to add here. Let's say both of these cars are completely 100% stock which mostly is the case here. P/W ratios are very very close. Evo 3109lbs/276bhp=.09 hp/lb Termi 3665lbs/390bhp=.11 hp/lb That's not a whole bunch of difference IMO.

The one thing I do want to mention tho is that Ford underated the 03 and 04 cobras, 360 to 390 is what I remember reading in muscle mustangs and fast fords was the wheel HP of the car, so really it probably had around 420ish bhp. In the end I think the evos lower power and way lower torque even tho its lighter is not going to make it even in any way.

  • Hey moron evos dont run when they make over 550 plus, what i mean is they spin all 4 tires thus killing the purpose of AWD even on drag radial tires, and thats the truth cuz i see it all the time at the races i LA, and yes these evos have at least 30k under the hood and have good drivers too! These evos are more like money pits as much as they spend and all the money they lose street racing these things when they start having traction problems!

  • the EVO can handle up to 600whp+ on stock internals. it's a beast. cobra vs evo stock for stock in anything but a str8 line race = EVO domination without even breaking a sweat.  you don't know jack shit about racing because if you did, you'd know that power has nothing to do with it. it's about the balance, suspension setup, and the driver.

  • DIPSHIT. Im an American, and I dont know how many bar = 1psi, but cobras come STOCK with 8 psi and forged internals. On stock supercharger they are pushing over 17lbs of boost, and with an aftermarket supercharger they are good to almost 30 psi. There is a local guy with a TT 03 cobra running over 30PSI.

    A fucking evo needs over 25 psi just to get in the 12's.

  • z06's ain't insanly fast in a straight line, you could easily mod a cobra to make it faster, but the z06 will always handle better(well not alwayss, if you dump enough $ and time in i guess), carbon fiber, magnesium, aluminum, aero dynamics, weight, etc.

  • i wonder what year model that EVO is? if it's an 03, then yeah, those ran mid to low 13's. 05's were running 13 flat, and the 06's started breaking into the 12's. the 07 run's mid 12's consistantly. the two runs i saw with the 07 it hit 12.5 and a 12.6.
