umm the 2.1 update for the droid is not out yet. The droid comes with 2.0.1. and i think it will have live wallpapers...

@Haydog17 yesterday i ran into one of my first battery issues. had apps running and went into a 1x area with 2 bars...battery was dead in 20 mins.

It's still a choppy piece of shit that doesn't hold a candle to the iPhone. Sorry, it just doesn't, in anything. Except maybe multi task, and there's an app for that on the iPhone if necessary. Otherwise, FAIL.

@pastafariannerd you also have to take into account for quantity vs. quality. the iphone may have 9 million apps but out of those how many are actually good quality apps. you also have to do the same for the android market...

I had issues with the first unlock screen unlocking in my pocket, no issues with the new one. Also, the update seems to better on battery usage. Good update.

Droid's screen is pretty much scratch proof, but i use a screen protector just for the hell of it. The screen is also good at not showing fingerprints.

Even the keyboard isn't that bad, coming from the LG Voyager (best keyboard ever), I can still crank out messages w/no errors on the droids smaller somewhat flat keyboard. Solid phone, go for it!

The gmail works great - but with my roadrunner email the phone downloads the email from roadrunner but I CAN'T send out emails using roadrunner.

Also the connectivity with WIFI is spotty - I'm sitting two feet from the wifi on this computer and it WILL NOT connect. Other than that its a great phone.

try to link up your RR email with a gmail account online, and then use gmail on the droid, but set your reply to address as your RR email. you're welcome.

i upgraded and now when i flip my phone to landscape the main screen doesn't turn to landscape unless i open the keyboard. is there a way to fix that?

Thats how its always worked. Main screen won't flip unless keyboard is open or u are in a program that supports landscape.

Update disabled my wifi, so now it forces me to use 3G instead of my wifi in the home. It pisses me off to no end to have billions of $ and hundreds of geeks with no lives to work on one phone and when they try to fix one thing they causes millions of other problems. I am 2 steps away from going back to best buy and getting my money back for such a P.O.S that Motorola and Verizon have put out. *venting complete*

i googled for a manual update and it was pretty easy just download the file and go on from there with great clear intruction

i didnt get mine either i heard yu gotta drain yur battery to a point and it wud tell yu how did yurs come up?

there is a way to manually do it, but it involves downloading a file, adding it to your SDcard and then a bunch of keyboard tricks.

unless you want to try that method, you have to just wait it out until your number is called. no other way to speed it up unfortunately.

as far as draining your battery, i dont think that will do it. plus, they require you to have at least 40% of your battery power before you can upgrade so make sure you've got a full charge.

also, try to stay in an area with wifi access to help speed up your chances.

wow thats crazy. i'm guessing tonight you'll get the update. it started monday with just a few updates going out and now they are supposedly rolling out 200K per day to hit everyone.
