  • is that Dean Lister sitting in the corner?

  • Was that Dean Lister to the left?

  • 9:25 - 9:37 niggah real hahaha

  • sigh* so much work ahead of me, but ill fucking master the rubber guard, just need a partner or a dummy

  • @ThOutRider2 Is it cause someone refuses to train with you? Cause I don't go to a Jiu Jitsu school and I train myself at home. No one works with me but I'm pretty good :)

  • @AZNboi10921 You think you're good. You CANT get good without rolling. Everyday.

  • @mafro34 i tapped out a jiu jitsu blue belt who has an instructers thingy. idk what you call them.

  • @AZNboi10921 I said you needed to roll to be good and obviously you roll.

  • @mafro34 you said this: "you think you're good". so i thought you were calling me suckish

  • I can tell you every UFC fighters watched the whole serie 7 times but are too shy to try it in the ring.

  • great tips but lol @ coleman beating fedor

  • Hahaha, Dean Lister packed into the corner...

  • What are leg curls?

  • eddie is a legend!

  • lol dean lister in the corner

  • hey im going to start trying to get bjj belts. i do mma and i know most of this stuff. about how long does it take to get at least a blue belt. Thanks in advance

  • @twista3991 i started with no grappling experience whatsoever and it took me 9 months to get a blue belt, but i imagine if you know a lot of jits already, you will get your belts much faster. It's knowledge/performance based, so if you commit to a school, you could feasibly get a purple belt in 9 months I would suspect. BJ Penn got a black belt in 3 years, which is amazingly fast. Hope this helps.

  • @FrostuMcPenos yea man this does help. thanks alot!

  • Penn got his black belt in 3 years because all he did was train BJJ. Al day, everyday.

  • @FrostuMcPenos you could not get a purple belt that quickly unless you had a stelllar background in another grappling art. You can't use BJ Penn as an example given the amount of training he put in and his natural ability. Most will take between 4- 7 years to get a purple belt. Focusing on belts is the wrong approach in BJJ

  • @graciehunter100 I don't disagree with your Penn statement, and I did add that it was amazingly fast, but someone had a question and I answered to the best of my ability. However, experience tells me the average timeline to get a purple belt is more like 3-4 years, not 4-7. And, if you are not trying to get a black belt, why try to get better at all? I think belts SHOULD be a motivating factor. I do it for fun, but some people are very competitive.

  • @twista3991 It's not all about belts you know... There r some guys with black belts that don't know sh*t and some guys with purple belts that are really skilled. In my mind belts r just for showing off (till some point) and they don't tell the whole truth...

  • Eddie is AMAZING! I am a blue belt in his 10th planet system,, and i had a on phone interview with him last night about some stuff. He is my fucking idol, Just that fact that he gave some 18 year old from NC a interview,, Simply blew my mind,, I will be uploading the audio to youtube shortly. EDDIE IS THE FUCKING KING!

  • @SkizZyStudios can you ask Eddie why he won't compete? He had one great result but then got smashed in the next match. However, his system has come on leaps and bounds since then so would be good to see him compete. I understand the implications of him losing but it would be a shame if he was lost forvever to competition

  • Damn I really like how Eddie talks about everything.

He talks alot but it isn't stupid ramlbing shit.

Its all legit stuff, and tryed techniques.

  • EDDIE is probably so stoned making this. but 10th planet is the shit

  • did he say "jew" claw?

like as in jews dont let go of money and they have a claw on it ? ahah

  • do u have to be super flexabile for rubber gaurd or just a little flexible?

  • You can pull off rubber guard with ok flexibility, but the bottom line is the more flexible you are the easier it'll be to pull rubber guard. There's a vid on youtube with Eddie talking about flexibility and he really emphasizes it, he said if you ever want to get a black belt from him your flexibility has to be top notch, because basically flexibilty widens your options, if ur pretty rigid, ur limited to certain attacks etc.

    Hope this helped.

  • I would like to learn some 10th planet chit.

  • Eddie Is a genious.

  • @Apoktite Thank you haha

  • This guy simply amazing! @_@

  • eddie is talkin serious philosphy. realizing u cannot win in the standup and cant take the other guy down scenerio. that is a bad position to b in. dont think there is an actual defense against pullin guard. although it is damn hard to keep someone there if they wanna just stand up.

  • defending against a guy who likes to pull guard comes down to timing. the second his feet leave the ground push away on his mid thigh. if he has a solid clinch it should just put him back on his feet. if he has a weak clinch it will send him slamming into the mat. ive used this plenty of times and have had it used on me. hope it helps.

  • good point bro. hadnt thought of that, but when i picture what ur saying it is obvious it will work. thx man, hope the guy i have to pull guard on hasnt read your text lol

  • your welcome. try it out and see if you can find some other tricks. one guy at my gym defends it like this...while in the clinch, if he knows your gonna pull guard he puts his foot on his knee. kinda hard to picture but it definitely stops you from pulling guard. the only thing you have to look out for are any type leg takedowns.

  • so beautiful if you study nature........ looks like Royce Gracie will live forever.

  • This is so good, it's sexy. So sexy, someone in the back got turned on at 7:53

That would be me too if i was there... Lol

  • I agree with you guys, if you guys see fedor vs nogueira's first fight you see how easily fedor breaks through the hand defense on the mount. Sorry I'm not in tune with the jj terms. But if i'm on the guard im going to be be trying to find different ways of protecting myself, and this makes a lot of sence.

  • Damn...Rubber Guard is a whole other science besides all the standard BJJ you learn! haha but let me tell you...I think the next generation of MMA guys will have to start learning this, if they want to be deadly grapplers! :)

  • Agreed, the Gracie-dominated era stuff is getting widespread so the next generation will need stuff like this if they want to get an edge

  • He deserves a cookie, I wana learn Bjj but i dont know if theirs any in NJ

  • there should plenty, u just gotta find em.

  • Thanks for making this video available bro. Can you believe that alot of so called mma practitioner's does not want to practice this unique technique? They just don't understand that more techniques means more chances of winning :)

  • I dont think more moves is the point. Its better moves for no gi grappling and MMA

  • dude i love eddie bravo, this has really helped my rubber guard im making everyone tap out on my wrestling team

  • Nice to see dean lister there, but I would rather hear he was at att/blackhouse or in thailand working on that muay thai, dude needs some striking and gas tank.

  • This is not judo.

  • That's right, it's not judo. It's no-gi greco-roman jiu jitsu.

  • Well, it has some borrowed greco-roman moves, but it's really not greco-roman cuz you got your back pinned haahahha.

  • Heh. Tru dat.

  • No this is mordern day submission fighting.

  • Right, but modern sub fighting is a mixture of these other, earlier styles, plus later innovations by guys like Eddie.

  • yup because people are trying to name whats going on the mat when the only thing you can call this is modern submission fighting.

  • Didn't Eddie himself call what he does "Greco-Roman Jiu Jitsu"? Sub fighting is constantly evolving. I'm sure Eddie was half-joking, but it's a fairly good description of sub fighting at this stage of its development (lots of BJJ with clinchwork from G-R). Who knows what it'll look like 10 years from now?

  • this shit is amazing

  • Eddie Bravo is a genius!!

  • this bro is heavy

  • this suff is golden...!!

  • gable grip yo kerilin slam

  • eddie bravo is the man

  • It's his private lesson, whas's so funny about that?

  • The first time I saw a guy with a hand on the mat attack guard was Jefferson Moura.

Bravo's approach is effective as well.

  • is that dean lister sitting there? LOL

  • boogeyman sighting
