It's important to remember that at about :48 when you quoted $20.58 per ounce of gold, that meant 20 silver dollars plus 5 silver dimes plus 8 copper pennies. Real value for real value.
It was a silver to gold ratio thing which people forget when talking about dollars which were defined in terms of a weight of silver.
What is not meant is a $20.00 federal reserve note of unbacked legal tender plus 5 silver plated copper dimes plus 8 copper plated zinc pennies. Artificial values.

they say the amero will bring about a new depression and we'll lose our country as we combine with mexico and canada. question is, i hear that it's backed by silver. and not by nothing, like the dollar is today. isn't that a positive thing? since we won't be using the "federal" reserves cash anymore?

Wouldn't it be awful if the people who controlled our money also controlled the media and the schools.
We would have a population that didn't understand how their own economy worked. I think that would tempt the people at the top to be unscrupulous with the money that they controlled.
I'm glad that's not America.

The politicians do control our schools that is why they refused to put in subjects that include economics and politics. They even start ticketing you if you don't attend school. They control the media too
