Given Gin's zanpakuto, a well timed mixture of attacks would basically turn everything into powder. Does not matter the range. If he can see you and does not want you there, you are just stepping into your own grave. Sometimes he doesn't need to see you.
Notice, how most of other characters in story we're multiply hurt, kicked, owned and pushed around, while Gin got hurt/lost just once: when he died, not a single time ever before.
Here, he's just perma-owning everything in sight, left and right.
Also, he's entertaining character, most of time you dont know wtf is he up to. And it's nice that his Bankai isn't some spammable uber sayan mode(-cough!- Ichigo, Hitsugaya... -cough-), "just" a couple of additional attacks.

Because of this he was able to do what certainly none of the Espada could do or most of the Captains couldn't, and that's "kill" Aizen, had it not been for the Hogyoku, he would have succeeded. It's the underestimations in most of your comments that make him so dangerous ;)

With tosen being the weakest of the three, he is still strong. If Aizen was not fused with the hogyouku, Gin and Aizen would be on par. But because Aizen has the hogyouku`s back-up, Gin didnt stand a chance.
@iamanicedemon mmm i disagree with that assessment. look at how easily tosen was taken out... by 1 injured Lt. and a 1 captain. he was strong sure, but comparing him to stark, barragan and ulquiorra is out of the question. I would say the same goes for Gin. he could take out most of the espada but ulquiorra and stark would prolly be to much for him, if he got barragan through the head then maybe he could win that fight since barragan isnt known for speed.

@XxSwaggerBoixX idk if you guys realized this or not but as u can see when Ichigo fought Ulquiorra he had his normal hallow mask after dieing his hallow formed took over and transformed into a Vasto Lorde and managed to defeat Ulquiorra. as you can see in the fight Ichigo was using the Vasto Lorde mask which means he was scientifically stronger in the fight against gin and yet gin was still only playing around with Ichigo testing his strength to see if he could possible defeat Azien.
@jazten512 Gin has never fought against anyone of the Gotei 13 other than Toshiro Hitsugaya. Aizen dealt with them for the most part while Gin has focused his attention on his singular objective the entire time.
I like cannot stop listening to this lol. If it weren't for me getting Skyrim today, I'd probably keep listening to it. The song is good and fits the mood, Gin is awesome, and it's just a well made AMV(to me anyway).
Let's face it, Gin is just too awesome to die. Although, I must say, him dying tripled how much I already liked him. He paid the ultimate price for the woman he loved, and saved the world even though it meant condemning himself to go down in bleach history as the second most evil person in the world. @FoxOfTheApocalypse Ichimaru Gin's bankai only extends 13 km (roughly 8.1 miles) not the 300 km you say. However, Gin admitted that it isn't as long as he claims. Either way, it is the speed of his zanpakuto which is scary. His bankai only amplifies the speed to that of 500 times the speed of sound. Faster than any 'blink' to be honest. Also, his bankai's special ability does more than merely disintegrate the desired target rather it breaks down the molecular structure of the target.

Buto (Japanese for Dance) extends and contracts the blade instantly in a piercing manner and Buto Renjin (Japanese for Dance Serial Blade) repeats it multiple times rapidly that it gives the opponent little chance to defend or even escape. It's deadliest aspect though is the poison which you can obviously see it's results.
Ichimaru Gin is simply the best character in all of Bleach. Not merely because of one particular aspect but a perfect balance of all aspects. A certain level of secrecy, creepiness, power, etc. All well-balanced in conjunction with his Zanpakuto, Shinso.
Most consider his Bankai, Kamishini no Yari, to not be impressive even when the most deadly aspect of it was revealed. To me it spoke volumes how he kept that secret even from Aizen. No other Soul Reaper's zanpakuto could compare to Gin's.
@Thsnickaman In truth, there are a few Soul Reapers that can. I know for a fact Unohana Retsu, Kyoraku Shunsui and Ukitake Jushiro are the first three that come to mind which can compare to him in their own unique ways. However, none can replace him unfortunately.
Gin is the is wonderful character concept. so powerful is his Zanpak, that he did not undergo ANY tranformation. Tounsen had a hollowfication and laughed at the idea of a Bankai, and Aizen became an evil butterfly.Gin was so powerful to begin with, that the only person to defeat him was a transended Aizen. Even though he nearly killed Aizen first, causing him to evolve... "Shoot to death Shinsou...Shoot to death"

I mean, Aizen on that point of the series was truly arrogant, and did not even occured to him that someone could defeat him, and Gin's attack was like he backstabbed him. I dont understand why people just can't accept that Gin is dead. I mean, he even said "Now i can die and leave the rest to you." Seriously, Aizen fucked him up bad. Seriously, his injuries were not the same as other people. He got sliced across the chest (by Aizen's final form, remember Aizen can destroy landscapes with his sword), his arm ripped off, and stabbed through the stomach. It can also leave behind a piece of itself in anything it cuts and at Gin's command, disintigrate that object or person, like it did with Aizen. The only reason he survived was because of the Hougyouku (???). Does that help?

@FoxOfTheApocalypse Ichimaru Gin's bankai only extends 13 km (roughly 8.1 miles) not the 300 km you say. However, Gin admitted that it isn't as long as he claims. Either way, it is the speed of his zanpakuto which is scary. His bankai only amplifies the speed to that of 500 times the speed of sound. Faster than any 'blink' to be honest. Also, his bankai's special ability does more than merely disintegrate the desired target rather it breaks down the molecular structure of the target.

@gaAssault34 Gin Ichimaru's bankai does not cause cells to proteinate as that would cause compounds instead of what is actually occurring. Also, his bankai affects the cellular not the molecular level of his targets. Not to mention, Gin's bankai is alleged at first to be that fast yet is retracted by the very owner when using it against Aizen leaving one to only speculate how fast his bankai really is.

@sasuke90719 Longer and faster extension and retraction rates. It is claimed by Gin that the extension and contraction rate is 500x the speed of sound. Buto (Japanese for Dance) extends and contracts the blade instantly in a piercing manner and Buto Renjin (Japanese for Dance Serial Blade) repeats it multiple times rapidly that it gives the opponent little chance to defend or even escape. It's deadliest aspect though is the poison which you can obviously see it's results.

Ichimaru Gin is simply the best character in all of Bleach. Not merely because of one particular aspect but a perfect balance of all aspects. A certain level of secrecy, creepiness, power, etc. All well-balanced in conjunction with his Zanpakuto, Shinso.
Most consider his Bankai, Kamishini no Yari, to not be impressive even when the most deadly aspect of it was revealed. To me it spoke volumes how he kept that secret even from Aizen. No other Soul Reaper's zanpakuto could compare to Gin's.

@Thsnickaman In truth, there are a few Soul Reapers that can. I know for a fact Unohana Retsu, Kyoraku Shunsui and Ukitake Jushiro are the first three that come to mind which can compare to him in their own unique ways. However, none can replace him unfortunately.

Gin is the is wonderful character concept. so powerful is his Zanpak, that he did not undergo ANY tranformation. Tounsen had a hollowfication and laughed at the idea of a Bankai, and Aizen became an evil butterfly.Gin was so powerful to begin with, that the only person to defeat him was a transended Aizen. Even though he nearly killed Aizen first, causing him to evolve... "Shoot to death Shinsou...Shoot to death"

I mean, Aizen on that point of the series was truly arrogant, and did not even occured to him that someone could defeat him, and Gin's attack was like he backstabbed him. He just knew how to escape Kyoka Suigetsu, and searched for the right moment. Amazing character.

I dont understand why people just can't accept that Gin is dead. I mean, he even said "Now i can die and leave the rest to you." Seriously, Aizen fucked him up bad. Seriously, his injuries were not the same as other people. He got sliced across the chest (by Aizen's final form, remember Aizen can destroy landscapes with his sword), his arm ripped off, and stabbed through the stomach. Im guessing he bled to death on that rock.
