Thank you for your comments. Fried onions were a matter of choice. I find that the fried onions tend to make the dish too greasy. However, if you like that taste, you should add it by all means.
I used good, very expensive parmesan cheese in the dish, and wanted the taste to come through, blended with the light flavors of mushroom, garlic,& green beans. I did not want that masked by the fried onions, which tend to overpower the dish.
@irfandama I was just kidding,Chef Dama!!You made a classy dish and you are right that one shouldn't mask the taste of the original ingredients...more veggie recipes please...thanks...
I can't stand it either. Sloppy, goopy, MSGey Green bean casserole ruins it for me. The one ingredient this dish doesn't have is the fried onions. You can add if you like. I prefer it without, but you can go either way.
Sometimes Nutmeg is a good addition, but I did not want to take away from the good quality parmesan. But these are variations you might want to try.
Usually I see the Green bean casseroles made from the ALL CANNED ingredients and I can't stand it. This recipe of yours is one that I'd like to try for Christmas.
great holiday side dishes...Chef Dama you forgot the traditional fried onions on the green beans :)

@diwanee3 No issues, Diwanee. I probably will concoct a recipe with Fried Onions next year. Sometimes, the flavor of fried onions is good.
As for more veggie recipes, you BET! 2011 has the promise of upgraded videos, healthy options and a vegetarian segment. It's all going to be fun.
Thanks for following the channel. Wish you and you family the best of the season.
