Later in the episode she picks up lunch for him and refuses to give him his change back. She states that she invested it, as she doesn't trust him to handle it responsibly :')
I like how the character of Donna grew through the series. They all changed as we all do, but she grew the most in wisdom, experience, and self-confidence.
