you're way too low... you're supposed to be at 100 feet when you're about to enter the runway threshold... and you don't idle your engines till like about 50 feet.

it'll probably take more then 4-5k, just to your local airport, there is bound to be several aviation schools, it cost me a little over 7k for my private license, and realistically you will want to get your instrument rating also. But there is no better feeling then flying, and doing a perfect landing in a real airplane.

man... where's the perfect landing? during real ops you should have done go around... it's not allwed by the FAR and it is unsafe to go below the glideslope... you also dont do what we call a 'positive landing' that being unsafe too...

It isn't very difficult, I became a pilot at 19, and my attention span is about an inch long. Just do a search for a local FBO and find an airplane for sale in your price range. Try to find a taildragger like a Cub or a Champ but a Cessna 150 or 152 will do fine. I learned in a 150. It's not much fun but it's a good learning tool so that you can move up later.

Once you have found a plane to rent (figure $80-130 per hour with fuel) find a good flight instructer who is trying to work his way up to get on with an airline. You should be able to fly with someone for $25-$30 per hour. It will probably take about 10 hours of instruction aswell as some reading and studying before you will be flying by yourself. Honestly, the bookwork is the toughest part. Flying is easy.
