i dont get it... there are plenty of sex scences posted on youtube from other movies, so why didnt anybody post a sex scene from boogie nights and this movie is based on sex??

I met a couple of people, guys and girls, who attended some acting school. they said the reason why actors try to obtain these kind of roles (whether its nudity or a sex scene) its because for them its like bragging, having the balls to do it. its not just the money but actors respect other actors when they portray those kind of rolls and do what you stated so called ackward scenes

well it would make sense. i pretty much figured that much. holmes was known as a well endowed male performer. he was in a series called johnny wadd similar to brock landers in this movie. he got addicted to coke, just like dirk did in this movie. near the end of his career he had trouble performing due to his high use of coke, and was even a intertwined in the famous wonderland murders. a drug deal that went bad. this movie had john holmes written all over it when you think about it.

@tlv156 Oh, no doubt it definitely did-in fact, I assumed that they loosely based the storyline on Holmes' life and times. In any case, it seems to do a superb job of not only (so to speak) fleshing out Holmes' life, it also really brings to life the 70's porn and party scene and even throws in a little 80's. And I pretty much loved-or hated, depending on the role-all of the characters, all of whom were well-developed and excellently acted.

Firstly to gr33.. you've obviously never seen the full movie if you think that. Homerekker is right its about the ups and down of the porn industry in the 70's, its not actually porn. And second I love this scene because Amber (Julianne Moore), just seems like such a mother.. and is so soft spoken, even though they're about to film a sex scene. Good fucking movie.
