Rula Lenska had a brush with fame in the US for a hair shampoo in the late 70's early 80's. She played a very snobbish sophisticated European big time star who only used the best shampoos - and you could buy the shampoo the fabulous world famous Rula Lenska uses - Alberto VO5. She camped it up too - talking in the most refined uppity tone that only the best would do for you. The US people believed it all for a long time because no one ever heard of her "across the pond" in the US.
@cylon6 Steve Allen was next to a pool, dressed in drag as "Rula Shiksa" advertising "V-O Doe" Lenska appeared from behind the vanity mirror, surprised Allen and pushed him in the pool. He emerged to say, "You're very pretty." She replied, "So are you!"
Match Game USA is the original. Started in 1962 with Gene Rayburn as host. The game went through a massive overhaul in 1973 which is the format you see on Blankety Blanks. The show was more known for its risque humor and party atmosphere than the actual game and was highly rated during its 70s incarnation and remains one of Game Show Networks highest rated shows.

There is a classic clip where legendary host Steve Allen spoofed the commercial and they actually had Rula Lemnska turn up and surprise him.
