This is a quite good Turrican 2 conversation, beside the missing of the great spaceship levels... . It should not have been rated that bad back in all the common the magazines if this was the case (I remember just getting rated 9% or something on the SNES) ! I think the SNES version was/is probably a little bad in way (don't know), but this one on the Mega Drive is really quite ok. Very fluend expolosions, animations all over, well done / there are even some new design ideas in it.
.. but I have to admit, that the bosses look a bit cheap in this funny way they are converted to the Universal S. 'theme', just this fact makes the game look more 'uncool' than a original Turrican.
The music at 25 minutes in is so very bad.These once incredible songs are mostly badly converted but this one is really bad- a once heavenly song made to sound like banging pots together.Most of them don't sound great at all and certainly not sweet on the ears like the glorious original Amiga songs
Whatever you do don't form an opinion of these songs just yet- go listen to the original Turrican 2 soundtrack on Amiga

I was not that impressed with the end screen when I played it! Its interesting the way they used the music from Turrican 2 in different places to the original game like the music from the shoot em up levels and the music at the end that used to be on the enter initials screen.
They took Turrican 2 and made this? unbelievable!!! I found out recently that Mortal Kombat was originally going to be the universal soldier game but the makers had the IP taken away and they made Mortal Kombat instead! Johnny cage was originally Jean claude's character!
This is, IN FACT, the game of the SEQUEL to Universal Soldier that they initially scrapped before the rewrite. The movie was going to be about JCVDs crazy adventures with new space and time travelling technologies, and he has to stop an evil and corrupt corporation from abusing it's power, while at the same time making sure he doesn't adversely effect the timeline preventing his own birth.
Of course I'm lying, but back then that would've been a great film!

Well, I didn't know that was a Turrican rip-off when I read a review of this game in GameFAQs, and in my point of view, this game is nothing than a shitt (Graphical)'Mod' of Turrican 2.
And this game even plagiarizes Sonic. If you press DOWN+B, your character will spin like Sonic! xD
It's not really even a rip-off, it is Turrican 2... They were originally going to release a direct port, but the publisher acquired a license for Universal Soldier and told the people to change the sprites.

No, Mortal Kombat was originally based on Bloodsport which was also with Van Damme. Cage is based on that character in the movie.
