Servers are set to use that theme by default because it uses as little resources as possible, however it is possible to change to a more atractive theme, as i have done it myself on my own server.

Just so you guys know, I have server 2008 enterprise 64 bit edition on my system and it kicks ass! If you know what you are doing, you can make the interface look like Vista, including aero. It's a matter of turning on services and roles. It is much better than Vista as far as performance and dependability...even though it is based off the same kernal, as far as the basic theme, it's faster with out the extra processing power needed for graphics.

Your system runs it pretty good as your running a virtual machine and a live on screen recording software.

I like the classic look, I keep my vista comp on the classic theme. It kinda makes it go faster I think.

Yeah, i find that it don't realy make any difference, all that i know is when i set my 64bit vista pc to use it while i ran a game benchmark, i got worse results than the standard vista theme.

Windows 7 is a core os, windows server is based on that core os. if you want to know whyat a core os is its lots of text like your boot screen all computer os start like that then they have stuff added in thats how they make an os

Why have it on your computer?

Why not just use vista?

Because Windows Server is specialy made for servers like web/fpt/mail or whatever.

I tryd Windows XP. But the Images on the webserver is really strange. And Windows Server is also faster in webserver than other Windows versions.

Yeah it looks just like 98, and also if you don't know XP is also the same looking without the luna theme. And yes you are a noob. This version of windows is 20%faster than XP. Or yes maybe we can use vista if it doesn't have alot of bugs. I already had it. It's so dump. And this one is gud. Like it so much, no no I don't like it I LOVE it. :D

because i didn't have a spare machine ready ;)

besides, it runs fine on VMware.. it's just that the video resolution is too damn tiny to see anything..

but i have a solution for this problem.. don't record it using VMware Workstation itself, but using SnagIt!
