HBO or Showtime should have picked this up. CBS just completely missed the point & made a cheeseball version of what should have been a really great show. I love Shatner, but he is completely all wrong for this role as well. Looks like another lame sitcom. I bet this would have been a great show if it more of the feel of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

This TV show should be on the Comedy Centeral channel late at night! Uncencored and Uncut. What the fuck? TV to me has gone down the shithole! If any of yous haven't read the book "Shit My Dad Says" by Justin Halpern, I suggest that you read it. The book is better than this fucking cencored show.

I attended the retaping of the series premiere and it it tons better then this promo! The new actor playing Henry is so much better for the role! It is a totally different show now then what you saw in this promo!

I love Shatner and I love the original twitter feeds. Based on the ad, I'm not sure I'd like the combo, but I want to like it very much. I had imagined more of a Peter Boyle kind of person a la Everybody Loves Raymond. I hope his character grows onto him. =)

I saw the pilot. The humor was stale and the acting felt forced. Even the amazing William Shatner couldn't carry the show. Maybe it'll be slightly more watchable, now that they replaced the actor who portrayed his son.

@AMEwrestling thats the first thing i thought when i heard this was being made into a show. I just finished reading the book and most of the comedy comes from the dad being so vulgar and swearing so much. And they obviously cant do that on a 9 o'clock sitcom so idk how its guna turn out =(

This looks awful. The fact of the matter is a good portion of the humor comes from his father being vulgar and inappropriate. This preview is a great example of why that brand of humor doesn't work on prime time TV. Well, it would work, but the network would be shut down by old people letter writing campaigns.

This looks to be about on par with Two and a Half Men. Which is to say, awful, laugh track crap.
