Ok the problem with masked kane (1997) was...

Kane was a tough guy, everytime he got hit it did nothing, so wwf had to make kane able to lose, and that was by putting him in the main events agianst undertaker austin rocky, then after his short stint of main eventer was over, wwf lost interest in kane, and towards 2002 they couldnt think of anything to do with him so they made him more friendly, then he returned as half mask and then they fucked him up from there

One storyline I was thinking about that would Kane to wear his mask again is for him to get burnt by an offscreen fire, disfiguring him and forcing him to wear his mask again thus bringing back the Big Red Machine, there could be a whole mystery about the fire as well.
