i had this once then i looked at all the setting on my 3d tv then i found a settings under system called game mode and that fixed it :) hope this helps i have a samsung 40” D6750 Smart 3D LED TV
I have a similar problem with Xbox 360 and 3D Samsung Smart TV. The lag is irritating when playing Battlefield 3 or other shooters. I tried using the Standard switch on my AV cable (red, white and yellow), but the lag still remains.
It's usually, in this case, the HDTV. I know with guitar hero it has a calibrate option for feedback timing because it says some of the HDTVs have lag.
@clearlycolorful Yeah!, I remember that calibration screen. That's just what I was thinking when I first faced this lag issue. I whish this game had such an option, but unfortunately doesn't.
@radexx Yeah, especially with the fast paced game as it is. You know, if the game doesn't have such an option does the PS3 have one? I searched it up a little, not having a ps3 myself, and somewhere it said something about setting your ps3 set to the native settings of your tv. As in setting your ps3 to the resolution your tv naturally shows so it doesn't have to do anything extra. Can't say much else since I don't have a ps3 but hope it's of some help.
Turn off all the 'fancy' options on your tv. No noise eliminator. No frame smoother. Nothing but the bare bones when playing games. Even video switching through your amp... try to wire it directly from the console to the TV if possible. All that stuff can add to the lag from your controller to your eyeballs. You might even enjoy the game more when viewed as the developers intended it. Wiki "display lag"
Hey if your tv is running at 120Ghz then that might be the problem! Check to see if there is a setting on your tv that enables a "game mode" of sorts.
I realized my tv was doing this when i was playing some action slasher games, when i found the game mode option, everything was no longer having an input lag.
@MAiKUxArt Nope, LG monitors (at least my LG DM2350D) don't double the frequency for displaying 3D images (i.e: 120Hz), they use an interlaced polarized filter instead. And I'll tell you more, they even halve the frequency (i.e: 30 Hz) and resolution (540p)... I didn't know that when I bought it, but it's not that bad after all... Anyways I'll dig a bit deeper into the TV menus to see if there's a specific "game mode". Thx
@nathywathy93 no. it's not. because It didn't happen with any other game. we tried it with a ton of other games after that. this was the only one that lagged like this. it's a game flaw.
You sure it's not just your TV? 'Cause i was playing the game with my friend and they had a brand new HD TV and no input lag whatsoever.(Also PS3 ver.)
@FinCooper Good to know!. I'll check if it's just my TV, but I still don't know how since I don't have any other HDMI TV at home...
Anyway, I was playing it in 3D (altough I set the TV to discard the 3D signal and display regular 2D video when I shot the video)... perhaps the 3D thing has something to do...
I will disable the 3D option and check if the lag gets any better

@djgodbert Thx for your comment. My TV has indeed a "Game mode" but it only appears to affect the color settings.
Mine is an LG DM2350D
And as I said before, my other games don't suffer from this annoying lag.

PS3 has always had a slight input lag, it's been well known in the fighting game community for a while.

@w4lt3rs0bch4k Thx for the info. Anyway the PS3 is directly connected to the TV via an HDMI cable and it has no post-process effects I can disable.
Actually, my point is that other games (and even the XMB and system menus) that should otherwise show similar behavior work fine.

its usually the tv in most cases. led and 3d tvs usually have much worse input lag than standard hdtvs
