For me, hunting in an environment that is at all controlled--let alone fenced--would take all the sport, legitimacy, and sense of thrill out of it. What you're really left with is a kind of pointless bloodbath.
@moondear2000 That is why some of us have evolved and thought about what to kill and what not to. But surely not the SUPER PREDATORS your'r talking about because if they were the SUPERS.. they would not worry about their own species blowing up Air-planes destructing their own species
When these macho idiots go fishing, they go to their fishtank. ------ Usually they hang the animals on the walls in their home. How can they look at these beautiful beeings, and feel pride?
I don't know why but I almost cried when the guy looked at the kill and said " that's beautiful" No sir I think you're wrong, I think it was beautiful when it was alive, roaming the land and being a part of this earth. I understand that animals are killed for food and such, its one thing to accept and respect the life that was taken, but its another thing to derive joy from it. I guess I'm okay with hunting, but it's kind of scary how happy these people get. "Lots of blood. Lots of blood. Did you see all the blood? Lots of blood."
You have tens of thousands of dollars, you have the choice to travel to any country and see it and experience it. You have the chance to see South Africa and experience it's culture and people, and instead you spend it all to go and butcher what is basically a tame animal on a large farm.
There are some stupid people on youtube, saying stuff like ‘oh those sick bastards killing those poor animals’, where do you think a burgers and chicken nuggets come from....
The game being hunted in this video has a much happier life and more humane death than 99% of the meat you happily munch down.
In the run up to the royal wedding, Burger King in England did a limited edition one, with the meat tenderized in Kate Middleton’s cleavage. They were £10,000.99 a piece, me and a few of the lads put to for one, it was pretty yummy actually
@triplejacked Even if the happier life statement was true, it doesn't negate the fact that it's still wrong to kill them in such a way. @triplejacked I apologise for my terrible wording in the part you quoted. I didn't mean to make that come across like I know jackshit about factory farming and that I believe it to be a fuzzy cosy world compared to that of hunting. I don't and I see both as bad as each other but at least farming conditions can be improved to accommodate the animals and to kill them in a more 'humane' way. Not all farms are factory ones (and yes, I'm aware of how some non-factory ones are bad too).
@MrBroken030 Do you eat meat ever? If so, you are a hypocrite. IF PEOPLE DON'T HUNT ANIMALS OR EAT MEAT OR FUCKING KILL ANIMALS FOR ANY REASON!? THEN THEY WONT BE BREAD IN THE FIRST PLACE you dumb assfucks.

@PumpkinKyuubi so dramatic who are you to judge? I don't can hunt but I do hunt and I can agree with the idea of you may never get a chance to hunt your dream game animal and if this is your last resort I won't fault them for it.
@PumpkinKyuubi The head is all that is kept as a trophy.. not the entire animal.. ( sometimes but rarely the entire animal).. the meat is generally used for food unless the animal is wounded b4 the kill.. the adrenaline that goes thru the animal as it is wounded spoils the meat. thats why they always emphisize on making a "clean" kill !
I dunno how true it is but they said the meat goes to other people? So I can half see a good thing out of this. But I don't understand the people who want to do it.
I agree with most of what the guy says here. Practically speaking they live and die much much better lives than those of domestic animals and it has drastically increased some species numbers. The only thing I don't really agree with is the mentality behind it, the idea of the animals being trophies instead of for food. It seems likely to breed a lack of respect and empathy towards the animals which can't lead anywhere good.
@random0x0 This is precisely it. Hunters of this sort beg to be judged by our lowest standard, or oyur lowest expectation. The assertion that it is "better" than other forms of animal slaughter assumes we need to accept or support some form at all. It would take somebody with some pretty serious cognitive dissonance to accept their account of the practice.
@NodrogTrax It is not convincing at all that they care about the environmental aspect of it, which is not established to begin with. There is no agricultural gain from this, and it is in fact an enormous waste of land for a continent plagued by starvation, when it could so much more efficiently be farmed for something useful (grain, legumes). More clearly are very insecure people selfishly attempting to improve their stock of themselves in a very regressive and unsophisticated manner.
@random0x0 But thats exactly where it loses all the plot. I lived in South Africa for 14 years and let me tell you there are two types of reserves. Game Reserves and Nature reserves. Game reserves are there for hunting much like this one. Nature Reserves are there for the nurturing and growth of Fauna and Flora of a natural habitat. So when it comes to increase the numbers of animals Nature Reserves are already doing that. Then why else do we need game reserves other to kill animals for fun?
I don't understand why he has this huge problem with hunting animals. Killing animals isn't a very big deal and hasn't been in the entire history of man - as long as the animal doesn't feel excessive pain. I'm sure being killed by a flock of wolves or pride of lions hurts more by having the teeth bite into you than a bullet to the heart.
@abbielovesoasis You're right, pack of wolves. Sometimes I think in Norwegian and it translates rather poorly. I don't know what you mean by "and now it is a problem its called evaluation"?
How you evaluate an animal life? I think that's exactly the point of my initial comment - it's something we've been doing for our entire history as modern humans. As long as we don't drive them to distinction I see no harm
It's "it's" by the way, not the possessive form. Hardly influences your point though
