I think they were tagged as being 'Digital Hardcore'. They're really the only band of this type - other bands have mixed electro/d&b and hardcore/punk but none sound half as good as these guys. They will be missed.

Digital Hardcore was a term used for bands like Atari Teenage Riot. In fact, wasn't the label they set up called Digital Hardcore? They did it first and better.

Yeah, you're right Digital Hardcore is the record label created by ATR. Sorry, I didn't mean there aren't any other DH bands, just that that there aren't any that sound quite like the Caps. And I have to disagree. I like ATR, but the MCMs are far better in my opinion. Far more diverse in sound, atmosphere and style; and generally just better written songs.

I think I just like the darker side of things. They just sound filthy, like the songs were written adlib at squat parties with rusting needle tips. Also, the pure teenage rebellion appeals to me - it was like the second coming of punk. MCM feel safe and sterile in comparison. Also, once Nic Endo got involved the songs took on a denser quality. Pah, I like both.

the genre that atr does doesnt sounds much like hardcore. its more like only electronic or only digital. maybe a bit of hardcore influences, but definitely not as much as tmcm or wagdug futuristic unity. they both did better than atr.

and also tmcm were founded 2 years before atr.

and they called themself digital hardcore which really sucks imo. the more of the people can better say what a genre a band is than the band itself imo.

They sing in both japanese and english, sometimes in the same song. none of them speak english though, which gives their english lyrics a beutifully disjointed quality. Gaga Life has the line "This sound attacks you most violently" - I love them. Shame they split.
