I'm from nicaragua , but I have never seen some of these dishes. Not that I would eat them. The weirdest things I have eaten when I was there as a kid were turtle eggs(poor turtles), iguana soup, armadillo and pigeon soup. Here in the US there are bizarre foods too.

I'll start saying I'm from England,.. watching this did not give me the impression that Nicaragua serves filthy food or anything,.. as with any country, it gave me the impression that there is a restaurant that *does* do this. I am Honduran, and the cuisine of Nicaragua is very similar. I must say that this show did not show many of the wonderful dishes that are in Nicaraguan cuisine. I know that the show is about bizarre foods, but in the episode of Puerto Rico, Andrew Zimmern didn't eat anything that was really bizarre.
I am from Matagalpa, Nicaragua and I have never seen such a cheese but everything is possible. Besides, remember that the show is about bizzare foods so do not expect to see him eating nacatamales, carne azada, indio viejo, etc... which are very delcious nicaraguan dishes.

I have never seen worms in food like that in Nicaragua. The show Bizarre Foods did Nicaragua a huge injustice to show such filth. I really have a problem with this program, and how they have depicted my country. Nicaragua has exceptional and wonderful foods. I have eaten dishes that are delectable, and that rival dishes from other countries I've lived in the U.S. all my life, but was fortunate to be born in Nicaragua, and consider myself a "pinolero"...por Gracia de Dios....

@GIGNica The worm cheese was a preview for coming shows, but they were not clear about that. The worm cheese is real and is made on the Mediterranean islands of Corsica and Sardinia. It was not something they made up to insult Nicaragua. (But I'll take a nacatamal over any worm cheese.)

Ive never heard of this dish with the worms before. I asked my father and grandparents if they had and they hadnt heard of it. Sometimes cheeses do have worms in them, but its more of an accident rather than a delicacy. Im sure they had to serve him something different and thats all they could come up with. Pinol de Iguana is an awesome dish. I havent had it in 20 years but I can still remember the taste. I love Nicaragua. The people are the best and the food even better.

I think we're missing the point for the video. Its not that Nicaraguans eat worms on a daily basis...because we don't. The show's point is to bring out bizarre foods! As a Nicaraguan, its nice to know that we have elements that make us unique as a people. Hec, they promoted a country that's unfortunately poor. I think they make a mistake here! there is no dishes that it was worms on it in Nicaragua. I am a nicaraguan and you will not find one like that...and I doubt that in a restaurant or in a place they will give a foreigner that dish unless he has pay for it. People from Nicaragua are specially nice with foreigners...I did not like that they showed that!

Love this show and love checking out youtube for the comments from the natives of the different countries represented in the show. Everyone is different in their own unique way and I just love it. I am Honduran, and the cuisine of Nicaragua is very similar. I must say that this show did not show many of the wonderful dishes that are in Nicaraguan cuisine. I know that the show is about bizarre foods, but in the episode of Puerto Rico, Andrew Zimmern didn't eat anything that was really bizarre.

I am from Matagalpa, Nicaragua and I have never seen such a cheese but everything is possible. Besides, remember that the show is about bizzare foods so do not expect to see him eating nacatamales, carne azada, indio viejo, etc... which are very delcious nicaraguan dishes.

I have never seen worms in food like that in Nicaragua. The show Bizarre Foods did Nicaragua a huge injustice to show such filth. I really have a problem with this program, and how they have depicted my country. Nicaragua has exceptional and wonderful foods. I have eaten dishes that are delectable, and that rival dishes from other countries I've lived in the U.S. all my life, but was fortunate to be born in Nicaragua, and consider myself a "pinolero"...por Gracia de Dios....

@GIGNica The worm cheese was a preview for coming shows, but they were not clear about that. The worm cheese is real and is made on the Mediterranean islands of Corsica and Sardinia. It was not something they made up to insult Nicaragua. (But I'll take a nacatamal over any worm cheese.)

Ive never heard of this dish with the worms before. I asked my father and grandparents if they had and they hadnt heard of it. Sometimes cheeses do have worms in them, but its more of an accident rather than a delicacy. Im sure they had to serve him something different and thats all they could come up with. Pinol de Iguana is an awesome dish. I havent had it in 20 years but I can still remember the taste. I love Nicaragua. The people are the best and the food even better.

Nicaragua is a poor nation but we take pride in the fact that we do not, under any circumstance, eat contaminated food, we do not view worms as a delicacy or eat food that is rotten, or in any stage of decay. it is not in our nature or in our culture to do so.

I think we're missing the point for the video. Its not that Nicaraguans eat worms on a daily basis...because we don't. The show's point is to bring out bizarre foods! As a Nicaraguan, its nice to know that we have elements that make us unique as a people. Hec, they promoted a country that's unfortunately poor. Its nice to know we sparked the interest of someone looking for something new to taste. :)

I think they make a mistake here! there is no dishes that it was worms on it in Nicaragua. I am a nicaraguan and you will not find one like that...and I doubt that in a restaurant or in a place they will give a foreigner that dish unless he has pay for it. People from Nicaragua are specially nice with foreigners...I did not like that they showed that!

No he oído que lo haya en America Latina, así que puede que alguien en la producción se confundió y puso un segmento sobre Cerdeña en el comercial sobre el programa de Nicaragua.

Soy nica y pienso que es algo antiprofesional de parte del conductor, porque tantos paises que ha visitado y luego solo haya pasado eso en Nicaragua. Love this show and love checking out youtube for the comments from the natives of the different countries represented in the show. Everyone is different in their own unique way and I just love it.
