  • Walkera is making all of there r/c electric helicopters into Flybarless designs. This saves on additional parts and makes it easier to repair. The Walkera CB180D/Exceed Madhawk 300 flybarless version is the Walkera V200D02. It can use the same WK-2402 or the newer WK-2403 Transmitter.

  • So is this Walkera cb180d or the esky honey bee v2 better which one do you recommend more

  • @8Bernice The Walkera CB180D is better because of the newer design relative to the E-SKY HB V2. The Flybar is angled at 45 degrees versus the traditional 90 degree flybar. The newest design is the flybarless design. The CB180D flys just like a co-axial but with one rotor. Very easy for any beginner.

  • @SuperNicholas50 The Walkera CB180D is way better because you have an additional dimension. A car can only stay on the ground. The helicopter adds the extra dimension of flight. A much better sense of freedom and power.

  • I got one of those, and on first crash, it broke almost all possible hard to replace parts. Had to order those cause they werent in stock as they were tagged "hard to break". Weak parts didnt break.

It broke the horizontal wheel that attaches to main motor, about 5cm across, that does the reduction to the main motor, it broke by torque, not by sideways movement.

It broke the main body to landing gear connections. The swashplate transfer bars. The swashplace stabilizer (part of main body), etc

  • @TheSilentwarrior99 The helicopter is only as good as the pilot. It can't fly itself. Practice, practice, practice !!!

  • @7RTFHELI True, but the problem is that the center (hovering position) of the servos was wayyy off, so, when it caught a little wind, i had no space left to compensate for it, so i pushed it down hard because it was getting close to a wall. It landed a bit hard, but, I wasnt expecting that much damage :/

I would expect that much damage if i had flown it straight into a wall at full speed, 2 stories up, ya know xD

I guess you get what you pay for right? xD

  • And thats white skid landing? Xtreme production? I'm sick of stock skids ,are very fragile, simply shit...

  • @kamuro1976 The white skids are also stocks skids just white. For better landing skids get the super skids 200 at our website. Flexiable plastic skids yet strong enough to withstand most minor crashes.

  • @kamuro1976 Super Skids 200 - Goto rtf-heli.com

  • @kamuro1976 We agree that the stocks skids are cheap and break very easy. We used landing skids from Super Skids. It is Super Skids 200. Goto: rtf-heli.com and look under the Super Skids Menu or Walkera CB180D /Exceed Madhawk 300 Menu

  • And thats white skid landing? Xtreme production? I'm sick of stock skids ,are very fragile, simply shit...

  • This helicopter is a handfull...i have made so many adjustments...i have plenty of rudder control..No matter how many times i turn the gain sensitivity screw clockwise every test flight is the same(tail is over sensitive)..my sensitivity screw keeps turning and turning should'nt there be a point where it does'nt turn anymore?..does anyone know how to adjust this properly..the instructions are poor and nobody even xheli has an answer...thanks

  • @3255959 The stock Rx isn't that great. Typically, a real pot should only turn no more than 270 degrees. The pot on the Rx keeps on turning and turning and doesn't appear to work. We replaced it with an Rx that has real pots that work. Get the WK2421 RX. This can be directly use to replace the stock Rx. It can also be used with the Totally Brushless kit we sell for the Walkera CB180D. Check out our other videos to see how the Walkera CB180D Totally Brushless heli flys.

  • @7RTFHELI I may order your WK2421..does the heli fly more stable with the 2421? Also you have brushless motor for 180d and you say the wk 2421 can handle it with no problem?

  • @3255959 The Rx-2421 can be used in place of the stock Rx. You can use the stock carbon brushed motors and then convert to brushless when you want. We like this Rx better than the stock. We also think that this conversion is better than buying the new CB180Z. The Gears on the tail wear out quickly like on the U-FLY. A Direct Drive (DD) brushless motor is much better.

  • u need a new battery your one has most likely perished

  • Does anyone know if new exceed madhawk 2.4 trans with display binds with this walkera 180 d?..i found a new walkera 180d cheap but its a bind and fly..

  • @3255959 Yes, the newer 2.4Ghz Walkera CB180D now comes with the digital WK-2402 versus the old analog Wk-2401. With the digital WK-2402, the range of the heli is vastly improved. Everyone has complained that the heli could not fly more than 300 feet before losing control. The WK2402 resolves that problem. Use the money saved to get a Direct Drive upgrade Kit or go crazy with the Totally Brushless Upgrade.

  • @7RTFHELI My friend has both exceed madhawk and walkera..he says the newest exceed madhawk trans which i have binds with walkera also...thanks

  • @geekpeptalk Im new to these hobby so I really dont know much about the electronics but if you could tell what i need to make the modd i'll be very thankful.

  • Im having a problem with my madhawk 300 just bought it im on my 15th flight , the helicopter looses power after 1 minute of flight time and can't get it up more than 2 fts. Does anyone know what's wrong with it?? is it because of the battery or the motor??

  • I was told by jhawk that replacing the flybar weights with lighter ones qwill quicken the response time..anyone else do this?

  • Maybe i just have to get used to it...I have not problem fly regular coaxials and they don't crash unless i do something careless..this copter might just need a better pilot..

  • Does anyone know the proper way to adjust the sensitivity... i turned it both ways and can't see any difference...my copter as a tendentcy to want to do 50* dives for the ground even when there it very little wind

  • @3255959 If you are still using a tail shaft driven tail motor, the shaft motor might be failing and you will get less and less power to the tail motor until it fails. This is typical of carbon brushed motors. The typical carbon brushed main motor last about 150 full flights and the stock tail motor should last about 3 dozen flight before failing.

  • @7RTFHELI ...thats not the problem...i have great direction control.....only has about 15 mins of run time on it...Do you konw how to adjust gyro sensitivity on this copter...it goes plenty fast for me..but again wants to make dives and crash...not sure why..

  • @3255959 There are two POTs on the Rx. The Gyro Gain should be the Sensativity POT. The POTS on this Rx don't appear to work. You might need a new Rx. Was the heli flying fine when you originally bought the heli ?

  • my madhawk 300 driveshaft somehow mysteriously slipped out of the motor and i couldnt see it cause of the housing, however i cut the housing out and noticed the problem, now everything is fine

  • cool video.i'm going to buy this upgrade at wow hobbies.first i need to replace the main shaft.can u plz tell me how i go about removing it?new to rc heli got this heli and exceed blueray450 but have't flown the 450 yet.also got pheonix rc sim.help wit main shaft plz!

  • @tonylopez13805 Thanks for asking. You need to remove the pins that connect the rotor head and the main gear below the heli. Use pliers and carefully pull out the pins. It sounds simple but it will take some time.

  • Thanks. It's 1/2 acre which is a good size for the suburbs.

  • Nice job,but you are the only one that says the shaft drive rotor system had problems and broke ...a lot of broken main and tail rotor talk, but thats the only problems i heard... i do like this heli and the mod you did seems pretty nice if it adds better handling...thanks again

  • @7RTFHELI yo hi you doing man? like the vids, i have a qustion can this receiver of the cb180d take a 11.1v 100mah lipo battery? Ive been using it on it and it flys great and with great power. i just want to know if that good, not that it will burn in mid flight and burn and crash. i would appreciate your input on this. or anyone else that wants to answer my question

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC @FastSpeedDemonRC - Thanks for asking -- The Walkera CB180D/Exceed Madhawk 300 can take an 11.1v LIPO. The hardest problem is finding an 11.1v LIPO that will fit the battery tray.

  • @7RTFHELI thanks for the answer man, actually Ive made a project of my own, i took a honey bee fp v1, and totally changed that sucker up with loads of mods and upgrades and used the walkera cb180d receiver and controller. DD etc etc and it flys nice, just i was wondering if i will burn it out but know i know it wont. thanks m8. happy flying

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC The E-SKY HBFP V1 Rx will handle the Direct Drive (DD) kit without burning out. You should always add ATO Fast blow fuses when using carbon brushed motors.

  • @7RTFHELI hey man how are you? i have another question i burned my receiver out for some reason, it got too hot and the cover melted making the heli to go full power up in the air, and had no more control over the heli

  • @7RTFHELI because the receiver got burned and wasnt working properly anymore, i wanted to order a new one but its out of stock, the only receiver they have is this one:Receiver RX-2421!! wil

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC Yes, the Rx-2421 will work on the CB180D. So get it and it will also bind with your current Tx.

  • @7RTFHELI so the rx2421 will bind with my wk2402 transmitter? it will just regognize it? inlike the esky receiver there is no binding button on these receivers, so i should just be able to bind it once its connected?

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC Yes, that's correct. We have already done this with the Rx2421. In fact, this is the Rx that will be required to make this heli Totally Brushless. This Rx2421 is currently being used as the protoype for a totally brushless 2.4Ghz Walkera CB180D Exceed Madhawk 300. the Rx2421 works with the Wk2402.

  • @7RTFHELI thanks man, you are awsome! im gonna order it, i didnt know that this receiver can be used for the brushless upgrade, im getting kinda tired myself on brushed motors, what exactlly do i need to do for this brushless to become a possibility? you said that the rx2421 will be required to do this mod, can you inlighten me about this? then i can order the brushless parts inmediatly with the new rx2421

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC We were trying our best to get the existing Rx to be converted to a totally brushless mod but the stock Rx is NO Good. So we tried the Rx2421. It works great and we are flying the protoype. It works fine. We will have a brushless kit hopefully at the end of the month. We will be selling the brushless kit separately from the Rx. So all you need is just the brushless kit at the end of the month.

  • @7RTFHELI i got the reveiver and it does work, and it actually works better the heli handles better, i also like the motor and tail motor plugins. thx man, and ill be waiting for the brushless set. i live in holland and would like to purchase it when its out by doing a money transfer, i do this alot with juwelry that i buy from NY at traxnyc. ill be pending since i already got the rx2421

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC We use paypal for payment. What is a money transfer ? Is that like a wire transfer ?

  • @7RTFHELI yeah money wireing, i do it mostly trough JP morgan when I buy jewelry from NY city. however my friend I bought the 2421 and it only lasted for about one flight, then it started doing crazy again?! so i looked inside the rx and saw that a lilttle computer chip MELTED off not burned

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC The Rx 2421 probably burned out because your friend did not use fast blow ATO fuses and probably also use carbon brushed motors. We are using the Rx-2421 with a totally brushless heli. In this case, no fuses are required as the ESC can handle power feedbacks from most minor/major crashes.

  • @7RTFHELI im done with walkera with the money i wasted trying to get this back in the air i could have just bought a brand new 6 channel heli haha but its all good since money is no problem but its just annoying. but thanks for your help

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC The Walkera CB180D is a great cross trainer heli between a co-axial and an FP heli. A CP heli is a totally different animal in that respect. It sounds like you are bored and ready for the 6-channel CP heli. The 6-Channel CP maybe cheap when you buy it, but the parts will cost just as much as the Walkera CB180D.. In fact, there are more parts that make up a typical CP heli, so you will be paying more for more spare parts.

  • @7RTFHELI no man, actually ive been flying for a while, mostly with a kds 450 C but some friend of mine got this tricked out FP heli and i liked it and wanted to make one of my own with the brushless upgrade just didnt quiete how to do it. i bought this hbfpv2 got the metal parts ,dd etc etc just no brushless. when will you have one for the 2.4 version?

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC We had a totally brushless kit for the E-SKY HBFP V2, but we can't seem to get the brushless motors anymore. We are looking around and can let you know when we get them to make the kit for sale. Meanwhile we just introduced the carbon brushed Direct Drive (DD) Kit for the E-SKY HBFP V2. Check it out at the website.

  • @7RTFHELI also I bought a NEW honey bee FP V2 2.4 ghz, i want to buy your product the brushless system for the honey bee fp v2, however on your website you say that you havent tried it on a 2.4ghz? does it make a diffrence? i really want to do this modd, i have alot of CP helis mostly 450 or 500 series and there all brushless, i just want the same for my FP

  • @7RTFHELI will it work with my WK2402 transmitter? its also a FP receiver

  • @FastSpeedDemonRC Absolutely - The WK-2401, WK-2402, and WK-2801 will work with the 2.4Ghz Walkera CB180D/Exceed Madhawk 300. You might have to set some DIP Switches in the back of the Tx to properly match the heli servos.

  • @7RTFHELI We sell an 11.1volt LIPO that fit's directly into the battery tray.

  • hey mate, im thinking of buying the madhawk 300, but i was just wonder how fast does it go?

  • 11.1v LIPO Mod you have a vid on this?

  • Awesome guys, thank you.

    One more question.

Is there any difference at all between the CB180 and the Madhawk 300? The MH300 seems out of stock everywhere, the CB180 does not.

If they are the same, I'll get the CB180, since it is sold in more places than the MH300.

  • i cant find the kit?

  • whats the replacement tail motor make and model?

  • Hey guys, I was wondering if these (180D or MH300) would make a good indoor heli.

I have a mSR that I just don't like how twitchy it is, it's to light and the slightest thing sends it zipping around. Great for some, I'm sure, but not me. I need something heavier that takes a bit more time to get up to break neck speeds. But flying outdoors is not much of an option, so would this bird be to big to fly around indoors?

    Thank you!

  • The 2.4Ghz Walkera CB180D/Exceed Madhawk 300 uses a 7.4V LIPO which is better than mSR. Add a Direct Drive kit and the heli fls with authority. You can fly this heli indoors as its small enough.

  • @TheRoostCrew : I fly mine indoors, but it annoys the cat no end. It really depends on how much room you have for flight. Otherwise? It's an excellent helicopter!

  • Comment removed

  • Your video is great but I already broken my helicopter for 5th times and total cost is a new CB180D helicopter more than that......

  • Time to try a flight simulator before flying. It'LL cost you less in the long run.

  • Could anybody advise where to get the parts required for the tail mod, preferably in Australia? Thanks..

  • im getting one of these on the 29th of december 09 so its pready sweet

  • got this the other day and boy it has some grunt but when i was messing around with the lcd screan i put thro which is throtle onto rev which is reverse and it immediatly shot up and would not stop until it tore itself part but now i have put throtle back to nor (normal) and it still shot up and slaughterd itself now i am ordering new parts but it has a red flashing light in the canopy and anyone help me out please asap would really apperciate it very much thankyou.

  • The RED L.E.D. on the Rx sould not be flashing. After binding with the Rx, It should be steady RED. It sounds like you are not binding with your Tx. properly.

  • yeah thats true the only way i can bing it with the helicopter that works is by turning on the helicopter then the transmiter but if i turn the transmiter on then the helicopter it doesnt work? any help

  • You have the new Tx with the LCD Screen. Typically on the new 2.4GHz Tx/Rx, you bind by turning on the heli Rx first and then the Tx. At that point, both the Heli Rx and the Tx are blinking really fast. The Rx should stop blinking followed by the Tx. If that is not happenning, then something is wrong with the Rx or Tx.

  • so are you saying that i should turn on the heli first then the transmiter? which is what i have been doing

  • Yep, if that is not working then something is wrong with the Rx. or Tx. as the heli is not binding properly.

  • I really want a rc heli, but have never flown before.

Can I fly a 180 even if I've never flown a co axel? Or will I just have a hard time and crash it? Is the Walkera 180D really as easy to fly as a co-axl? That is what some of the ad's say.I saw it at ChineesJade for 155$ shipped. Is that good price? How long do they take to ship? Unless someone starts yelling- Stop don't buy it =- you need a co axl, I think I will order this

    Thanks for the help!

  • You know what you might want to look into is the blade msr. it is a four channel fp micro. I really think that its a good beginner heli. Light durable, and very stable. Then move up to the others. this way when you crash(and you will crash) you won't be risking your larger heli. Check it out here on youtube.

  • I a real newbie to rc heli copters. Is this good for a beginer? Or should I get an ugly co axel?

  • If you are a newbie, this is a great replacement for a co-axial to learn how to fly a heli. And yes, a co-axial is ugly because of the extra rotor. This new design by Walkera may eventually replace all co-axial helis. A very stable heli for any beginner. We highly recommend this heli design over any co-axial.

  • This heli or the HBV2 for a first time heli? Thanks!

  • If I had it to do all over again? CB180D. The Hiller-paddle helis are too fast for a beginner. I'd fly the CB until I was dead bored, then move on to CP.

  • Hmm i purchased the HBV2 yesterday already, asked the rep at XHeli and he said he would go for the HBV2 so i dunno. Thanks anyway and mine should arrive on Monday hehe.

  • I have one of these and it is the best. I have carried out the above mod that greatly improves the heli performance and I would highly recommend to anyone with this heli.

I have solved the tail heavy problem by shortening the tail boom by 37mm and this gives you a CG that is spot on and a flight that is fantastic.

    Regards,

    Ray

  • Really appreciate your positive comments. Thanks for your support.

  • I want to see Walkera put that same flybar on a 450 heli. That would RULE!

  • Great mod. Can you advise what parts were used ie; tail fin, motor and rotor. I have one of these and it is fantastic.

    Regards
