@Gunnycole rlly he's only six and ur only in grade four dnt hate on him!!!! Come on! He probably plays it better than u and he learned BY HIMSELF!!!!!!
I'm learning this peice at the moment, I'm 14 years old and at grade four and one of my teachers top students, Some mistakes, Needs more control over his dynamics and his staccato in some places needs some work. Other than that it's pretty good.
What a sweet little boy. There is poetry in the way he faces the music, and elegance in the way he plays. With time he will be very good indeed! How long ago was this video made?
@zimnaya Thank you for such sweet words, zimnaya! The video was taped 2.5 year ago before his 7th birthday. During that period he was out of instruction and just grab what ever he has to play, this is one of those pieces. It looks like he really enjoys piano and is trying to be better and better. Thanks again and have a good weekend!
try not to slow down at some spots :) keek the tempo...if u listen u can tell the middle/end section is MUCH slower than the biginning :) use a metronome :D
Yes, he was totally on himself from the first round sight reading till this this video taped ... good he did not know the grade level of this one, otherwise he might have been scared off LOL. Thanks for taking time to listen to him and commenting! Hope you find his later videos better.
Arthur- I too LOVE Clementi. I just played this not even 30 minutes ago. I struggle sometimes with measures 42-45 but you really kick it out!! Bravo! Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your musical journey.
Thank you! Although there is quite a few mistakes due to lack of instructions, Arthur was very happy that he made it this far before his B-Day. Have fun making music!
not really im in gr.7 piano now and it only tuk me 5-6 years..since the years almost done
u can finish a grade in about 8 months depending on how fast of a learner u are :D im hoping to get this song done in 8 months so i can do my exam next august but this piece is like 3 pages so im worried
This is great! I'm currently learning how to play this song, and I can't play it as quickly, (although I'm 13!) One of the parts with a trill/grace note, or whatever you call it, keeps on messing me up... :D Once again, very well done!
That's great. I learned it when I was 7. He played nicely, especially since he's only 6 and he taught himself. It's beautiful, but it should be faster and there are many trills that he missed. However, he did well for one so young that taught himself. Bravo!
The little fellow certainly seems to enjoy his music, and that's great. A prodigy he is not, and far from it. I hope he is not treated as one by his parents, because he will probably never become a professional classical pianist. He needs basic technical instruction to even out those scales, and steady his rhythm. His musical taste and interpretation are nicely felt, but childish, unlike a prodigy. Let him continue to play and enjoy his music, but keep it in perspective.
That is a grade 7 piece in the Celebration Series PERSPECTIVES. I played that piece at age eight and continued on to complete the repertoire by age 12. I have the grade 7 book with me now, following along with him looking at the piece. Grade 7.
Ahahah, I am also learning this song and in level 5. But the difference between me & this kid is that I'm 13. Arthur, I am truly AMAZED by this performance. :] Wow, you played so much better than I do. Keep it up!
He was preparing RCM grade 5 at that time. This one was of his choice to learn for fun. He had no idea what level this piece is. Just loved it when he heard his sister practiced it sometime before. Thanks!
I just think that he has to use the trill suited for the classical style (start with the note above the note, then trill down to the note and up to the one above), work on the technique and tempo, and he is well on his way. [:
Thank you very much for your kind comment, springbok2006! Also thank you for subscribing to our videos! I'm more than happy you like this one, hope you also like our other more recent videos! Enjoy your summer!
beautiful...when i am playing a piece like this, i'm always trying to find a person playing the piece on youtube so i can hear what the full piece is like. i am currently playing this piece but can only play up to measure 12...how sad.. *_* oh well..lol. you really inspire me arthur. everytime i hear you playing a piece, i am tempted to get off the computer and play the piece right away. too bad i'm always on the computer at 8am...my dad doesn't let me do it at 8. anyway, happy playing arthur!!

Well, it's good to see more people are taking an interest in piano!
Wow, I wish I started playing the piano at 6. Good for you, kiddo! ^^ I just learned that song at the age of 18! One thing you should definitely keep in mind is to COUNT! Lol My teacher would constantly remind to COUNT! There were some parts of the pieces where you slowed down because you weren't counting. Counting is so important and will keep the music at a steady pace (when it should). Of course, some music speeds up and slows down, but from playing that piece myself, you have to COUNT a LOT!
