We with my friend were discusing stupidity.and made a conclusion:The more smart, educated, and clever you are, the more stupid you feel, act, and look like, while you are surrounded in lower intelect company. And the stupid people often look smarter, because they use the belief system, which is usualy based on stereotypes system, which is confirmed when one person says stereotype, which is confirmed in other persons belief system. and when you cleverly ask - Why do you think so? you look stupid.

Stupidity to me is if someone knows that some action is detrimental to themselves or others and makes a conscious choice to do it anyway. Or makes that same choice when they should have reasonably know that it was not in their or others best nature.

I feel that this was a waste of time. It is not exactly reasoned and well considered thought. It seems to be made up of sound bites and video snippets rather poorly put together (no continuity, thread etc).
The reason no one could agree on what stoopid is? The reason this movie leaves so many viewers feeling like they were robbed of an hour and left w/ no real answer?
FIRST we must accept that very few cultures/groups/individuals perceive, categorize or define any terminology in the same manner..
SECOND we must agree to define, for the sake of this argument, what the word “stupid” means so we can all feel like we are all in the same conversation.
THIRD we must embrace for the sake of this argument, that the word “smart” is the polar opposite of the word stupid. Most cultures/groups/individuals can agree on the definition of the word “smart” so we have now a base to build an understanding on.
FOURTH we must never ever confuse any other descriptive words with either “smart” or “stupid.” Intelligent does not mean smart, nor does ignorant mean stupid, etc.
FIFTH we must define smart as “always knowing AND always acting accordingly as to the correct choice for the moment” and define stupid as “consciously choosing NOT to act accordingly.”
SIXTH we must embrace THE FACT that the process of natural selection has NOT eradicated stupidity for a reason. This means that stupidity, especially due to the vast quantities in which it is displayed... ABSOLUTELY MUST then serve a purpose to our species.

TWELFTH conclude that natural selection will always dictate that members of any gene pool, human or not, will show their colors and behaviors in a fashion which is most likely to attract/repel members of the opposite sex in a manner which best facilitates an opportunity to copulate. And as rape becomes less and less fashionable within our species, stoopidity becomes the next best easiest choice.
...of course, any form of stoopidity not directly targeting sex in the moment is simply one form or other of self gratification till some stoopider vagina comes along .... :) think about it.

Stupidity to me is if someone knows that some action is detrimental to themselves or others and makes a conscious choice to do it anyway. Or makes that same choice when they should have reasonably know that it was not in their or others best nature.

Stupid = to take action or to fail to take action where the over all outcome is always negative due to lack of understanding.
The human nature for an interest in stupid people is the fascination in watching others fail and make mistakes. This was something we developed in order to know what doesn't work. But due in to mass media. This behavior is now a way to become famous. Human nature equates fame with success. There for people will want to fail upward because this is easier that hard work.

The doc makes good points. It is of course ironic that more than a couple pf people who were supposed to be so smart were making stupid comments concerning what stupidity is such as the man knocking metaphysics and praising school. Scientific discovery begins with philosophical thought and some of the smartest people were not brainwashed by the educational system that tells people what to think rather than how to think. Some children are smarter than adults and Keanu Reeves is far from stupid.
