But if you blast a state for saying hey we want to teach a little more of religion in our school we pretty much want to bring morals back into the education system i think that person should really look at themselves and see whats wrong. @Derekrife, I would suggest that You read some of the writings of the Founding Fathers on the issue of Religion. Especially when it dealt with the "Affairs of Men." They talk about "Divine Providence" (GOD). Also, Thomas Jefferson was referring to a one way "Separation." The reference of "an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." was referring to the "State" establishing a "State Sponsored Church (i.e. Church of England).
@Derekrife, Jefferson & the other Founding Fathers made it quite clear that the Government should NOT in any way, "shape or form" to interfere with Religion. State cannot intrude on religion or as Jefferson stated it "prohibiting." Religion cannot be recognized by the state as he referred to it as "respecting."

@Derekrife separation of Church and State isn't in the U.S. Constitution pal, but in some states like the state i grew up in you do learn of other religions in World History/Social Studies, depending on what your school calls it. It's ok to teach religions no one is forcing anyone to convert to anything.

The participants is the name used for a revolt against Mexico proclaimed by California settlers on June 14, 1846, in Sonoma in the Mexican province of California.

Santa Anna signed a Peace Agreement granting Texas it's Independence! Pretty Good for the "Poorest Republic." Don't You Think????

That's been going on since 1941. There are other parts of the United States where there are "Secessionist Movements" It's not just limited to Texas!

But if you blast a state for saying hey we want to teach a little more of religion in our school we pretty much want to bring morals back into the education system i think that person should really look at themselves and see whats wrong. Also, the Phrase "Wall of Separation" was was by Thomas Jefferson to Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the Danbury Baptist Association in the state of Connecticut (1802). The primary use of it was that "Government" was NOT to interfere with Religion.

They talk about "Divine Providence" (GOD). Also, Thomas Jefferson was referring to a one way "Separation." The reference of "an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." was referring to the "State" establishing a "State Sponsored Church (i.e. Church of England).

@colliertng NO, it doesn't. Courts are public, not private. You claim that the separation of church and state is one way, but there's no such evidence backing that claim. State cannot intrude on religion or as Jefferson stated it "prohibiting." Religion cannot be recognized by the state as he referred to it as "respecting."

@Derekrife separation of Church and State isn't in the U.S. Constitution pal, but in some states like the state i grew up in you do learn of other religions in World History/Social Studies, depending on what your school calls it. Religion has every bit to do with a peoples history and way of life. I don't mind if they teach all religions in schools bc at the end of the day I'm still a Catholic. It's ok to teach religions no one is forcing anyone to convert to anything.

My grandfather and father started out as redneck farmers. The former went on to work on aircraft and NASA equipment. The latter became an English professor and editor.
