there are a couple videos on youtube from tuned porsche, they do nearly 400 km/h (380/390), and a lot more videos, with cars running over 350 km/h on the autobahn > for example the g-power hurrican touring with 360 km/h.
my opinion the bugatti is totaly overrated. there are so many other cars on the world, they are faster, beautiful and much cheaper - but this is a matter of taste ;)

@kevinabalo88 250 km/h with BMW on German quality highway is not so bad because a regular cruising speed on these highways is 160 km/h. BMW handles well on high speeds because it is built for that. Btw, some women drive better than some men. Go to Germany or any other country nearby Germany and drive on highway and you will see that most cars are doing over 140 km/h because regular speed limit on these highways is 120-130 km/h

If we did an autobahn style system in the USA we would need to copy the german system of licensing drivers, and actually pay to keep up our highway system. that also means no eating, talking on the phone without a bluetooth and reading books while driving!

Defconfx is right. We have to many idiots on our roads in N. America. Too many crazy young drivers and drivers that drink and drive, use cell phones, ipod/itouch and other distracting things. We cant have autobahns here if we cant even obey the rules that we have now.

I loved it, thumbs up, i would love to do it... but it´s f dangerous and puts other people life´s in risk, there could be families on the other cars, imagine if a fruit comes out from a tree and hits your window at that speed... it would crash the glass in milion pieces (and your face) and you would crash in a way you couldn´t be barried, you would be mixed with steel. In Argentina, although not legally permited, there are many roads you can safely put your machine to its limits and I did it with my BMW E34 (though not as fast as this 850)

Unfortunately in the US, you can never, ever find a highways this empty. Lane discipline be dammed when there are simply too many cars to make to work. It is a very sad state when you can’t speed even if you wanted to. You just have to get in line and roll along. Very frustrating!
It makes fun to push the pedal on small distances 20 miles, but it really gets stressful if you want to drive this fast on longer distances like 200 miles.
I prefer to travel by no more than 70-80 mp/h on our autobahn, but of course it makes fun watching Porsches, BMWs or Audis overtaking at high speed.
if you traveled at this speed for an hour and 35 minutes, you would've went from toronto ontario, to windsor ontario. (it normally takes about 4 hours.)
i was going about 200 km/h when some idiots passed me at about 280-90 it was a phaeton and a cl 55 amg..i almosed shit my pants...because i was 3 sek from switching lane, to overtake a slow car..you dont know how fast it is , til you see yourself flyby over 250++ kmh. The phaeton was first and at about 270.. and then the monster cl 55 amg flys past us OMG like a freaking plane.
remaind me the starting airplane...8 fifty has got perfect engine...made in germany for germans on german autobahn. 8:00 at the right we can see japan crx with loud exhaust but funny engine. bmw has got quiet exhaust but powerful engine
it had 80l. But it was a bigger engine but still very efficient even when doing 200kmh. Im pretty sure this BMW can go at least 250km with one tank full speed.

@waskii hey does poland have some kind of "autobahn" too??? because when I was there, I was going from Wroclaw to Katowice and I was going like 100kmh and there were many cars that passed me going at least 160kmh.

If we did an autobahn style system in the USA we would need to copy the german system of licensing drivers, and actually pay to keep up our highway system. that also means no eating, talking on the phone without a bluetooth and reading books while driving!

@Boadu22 Montana used to have unlimited highways in the 90's but their death rate and accidents were much higher just in that state than in all of Germany so...that explains it why they put a speed limit again,
Defconfx is right. We have to many idiots on our roads in N. America. Too many crazy young drivers and drivers that drink and drive, use cell phones, ipod/itouch and other distracting things. We cant have autobahns here if we cant even obey the rules that we have now.

I loved it, thumbs up, i would love to do it... but it´s f dangerous and puts other people life´s in risk, there could be families on the other cars, imagine if a fruit comes out from a tree and hits your window at that speed... it would crash the glass in milion pieces (and your face) and you would crash in a way you couldn´t be barried, you would be mixed with steel. But anyway, veeerry cool, nice driving at 180mph, not even in a race track you have the chance to drive in that speed for 10 min

In Argentina, although not legally permited, there are many roads you can safely put your machine to its limits and I did it with my BMW E34 (though not as fast as this 850)

To credit the manufacture of this automobile by BMW, you can hear the pitch of the engine over the wind. I own an 850, and this in the dream. Unfortunately in the US, you can never, ever find a highways this empty. Lane discipline be dammed when there are simply too many cars to make to work. It is a very sad state when you can’t speed even if you wanted to. You just have to get in line and roll along. Very frustrating!

It makes fun to push the pedal on small distances 20 miles, but it really gets stressful if you want to drive this fast on longer distances like 200 miles.
I prefer to travel by no more than 70-80 mp/h on our autobahn, but of course it makes fun watching Porsches, BMWs or Audis overtaking at high speed.

i was going about 200 km/h when some idiots passed me at about 280-90 it was a phaeton and a cl 55 amg..i almosed shit my pants...because i was 3 sek from switching lane, to overtake a slow car..you dont know how fast it is , til you see yourself flyby over 250++ kmh. The phaeton was first and at about 270.. and then the monster cl 55 amg flys past us OMG like a freaking plane.

it had 80l. But it was a bigger engine but still very efficient even when doing 200kmh. Im pretty sure this BMW can go at least 250km with one tank full speed.
