Wouldn't it be nice if Germany would return the treasure back to the country where it belongs? Of course they won't. A culture is conserved by being in a climate controlled museum in Europe. But the treasure has been "appropriated" by non-native peoples. So there is this inequality. This seems to be a common theme in the field of archaeology, We don't have all the details worked out yet, but my hope is that rules of preservation and repatriation will be refined before all the treasures are lost.
