Haha. You with the skulls . . . Too cute! By the way, can you believe I am only NOW getting around to watching this? Heh. And you talk about YOU being a hermit!
Yeah, me & those skulls -- we're tight, we're buds, we're bossom pals. Plus, I liked my hair much better in this clip. (Geez, you should've seen how incredibly vain I was about it when I was 20!) But yeah, I contrived this bit of nonsense because of the laptop mic problem. When in doubt, use sight gags! I did much the same in my "Evening With Boris Karloff" & "Barbara Steele" profile clips (for which I did all of the visual editing myself). I'm glad you found these exceedingly silly clips.
Bloody hell, must have missed this one! Oh well, even though Halloween's over its still highly enjoyable! Besides, who says horror is only on Halloween?!
Thanks, Aqua. Yeah, I had intended to upload several more offerings like this one prior to the end of October, but ended up getting massively sidetracked. So, who knows? I may just go ahead and do it anyway, because as you so rightly said: horror isn't just for Halloween. As always, I appreciate you watching & commenting.
Thanks! Yes, they're very cool films. I might've included "Dragonwyck" & "The Ghost And Mrs. Muir" as well, but they're films of a slightly different tone, haunting though they may be in their own right.
So happy that you liked my spooky clip, Michelle. But yes, Nefer was the main attration, certainly that's how she thinks of herself. :-) I'm grateful that she'd allow me to show her off a bit last night. The last time I tried to do so, she wasn't cooperating at all.
Yeah, Jessie. I highly recommend it. "The Innocents" definitely has EVERYTHING: a moldering old estate, a past shrouded in mystery & tragic death, a governess who's hopelessly intrigued by all the strange happenings, AND a couple out-of-control kids doing exactly what they please. What fun!!! :-)
oooohhhh!!! sooo spoooky!!! they don't make them like this any more!! i'm trying to decide when the acting was taken over by special effects. aww. neferkit is soo lovely!! special scratch from me and salem says prrrr!
Glad you liked it, Sarah. Yes, the remake of "The Haunting" about 10 years ago really proved that they don't make them like that anymore -- what a massive disappointment it was. Excellent point about the acting ultimately being upstaged by special effects. Back when they either had no budget for effects or weren't very good at them, they had to be a lot more creative. I like that approach. Nefer thanks you for the scratch. She was only somewhat willing to appear, as you could perhaps tell. :-)
I love these films. of course, you already know that, what with The Haunting.being my absolute fave to watch "in the night, in the dark." Bwahaaaahaaa! Aww, look, it's our bootiful Neferkiti making her film debut. Gee, her eyes showed up great. Really cool video, sweetie! :-)
Thank you, Sweetie. I purposely put you in there at the end, 'cause these are three movies that we both enjoy. Plus, I saw "The Haunting" for the first time on S.F. TV with YOU... "in the night, in the dark". Yeah, I was gonna quote that line before I had the mic problems, I was so frustrated. And I made a real point of trying to get Nefer in there. The last time I tried, she just did NOT want to be held. You know how she can be. :-)
Old trailers are the best. I'm so jealous that you have the flashing eyes skulls. Just like the ones that were used in the refrigerator at Marcia's slumber party, and to try to scare Alice.
Yeah, trailers are wicked-cool... even the bad ones for bad movies... and the good ones for bad movies... Keep in mind, however, that those skulls are a standing fixture amid my horror DVD library -- they NEVER go back into storage after Halloween. And I was so happy that the batteries still had some life in them. I have some smaller laughing skulls around here, too (in addition to having red flashing eyes). Spooky stuff, LOVE it.
Thanks, Adrian! At first, I was bummed out 'cause my mic was giving me grief (I was going to quote my favorite line from each movie). But then I figured I'd do the "silent movie" schtick to weight in, since the movie trailers are the real attraction. Again, it's something which you gave me the idea for (don't know why it never occured to me before -- hmm, bad brain). Now I'm a real promo reel fiend, with plans to do a few more clips along these lines. Yes, I am the monster YOU helped to create.
Hey!
I'm having a bit of a Ghost problem.
You seem like the type of person who would either know something I could do
OR
enjoy watching me scared out of my wits...

Great video Steve! As you can probably guess, I like old trailers almost as much as the movies themselves.
